August 22nd - 29th any Deals out there Now?

We missed all the discounts ... by the time we found good airfare prices all the deals had expired or not valid for our travel dates ...

We are going the 22nd - 29th of August and there is NO discount for those dates out right now ... So I just have Room only booked thus far from hotels.com with 10% discount for Pop :-(

If anyone knows of any deals out there let me know!

Hi. I'm looking for the same week or the week before. It seems that Disney is offering the discounts waaaaay ahead of time or at the last minute. Something to keep in mind for future planning. Missed the free dining and am waiting to see if any AP discounts are released for that time period. I will book offsite or even more likely a different destination very soon, however as it is getting a little too close for comfort.

I extended our trip and ended up needing the 22-24th. I had already missed the discounts thinking we didn't need them. I ended up renting points through David's (they advertise on this board) which will save you quite a bit on a DVC property. You could also try to see if there is a AAA discount that covers those dates. You will have to call Disney to check that discount for room only, and your local AAA office if you want a package.

(ETA.. just to give you an idea of what it cost to rent points.. I booked those four nights at Old Key West. Disney rack rate for a studio for those days is $1372. Renting points I paid 700 dollars less than that.

Do you have AAA? You can ask for the AAA room rate, may be a bit more then 10%, you can book directly thru Disney.
They have Free Dining out for dates Aug 28 - Sept 24. I know, not quite your dates. The current room discounts ends Aug 13. I think WDW will release more room discounts closer to June, or beginning of June. Hang in there, and keep watching.
I would be leery of using Hotels.com, Expedia, etc for booking Disney rooms, because they have control of your reservation, not you. So you couldn't phone Disney reservations to make room requests, or change your reservation. Everything would have to be done thru Hotels.com.

we are staying at the Contemporary from 8/25-8/29....when i called and asked about AAA they said no go....just heard about free DP starting 8/28....anyone think i should call and inquire about one day of free DP??

Free dining is a package. You can't get free dining for 1 night. I believe there is a 3 day minimum, plus at least a 2 day MYW park ticket and the photopass.........

If your package starts prior to the start of free dining, you can not get it applied to any of those nights, even if some of them are part of the free dining dates.

Your free dining package must start on a free dining date. In your case, your package dates prior to the 28th would not count as meeting the minimum.
