August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

We have 16 days at WDW with free dining plan before the cruise.:scared1:
After this vacation I am not eating until Xmas:rotfl:

Then that tooth REALLY better be in good shape....thats a lot of eating. We have done the parks that time of the year twice with the free dining...it was a lot of food!!

Never done Dining plan, as you can see from list where we have stayed we prefer offsite but couldn't refuse Disney's offer this time, when we booked it last year it was $130/night incl tax for a studio at OKW with free DDP for 3 of us. We spend that offsite in a budget hotel and eating at places like Chilis, Logan roadhouse Mimis cafe etc.
We have not enjoyed planning meals months before we go, but we managed to get everything we wanted, not eaten at any of these before except Hoop.

Yes, it is hard to make those type of resys so far in advance. Keep the phone number with you in case you want to try and change at the last minute, people do it all the time and you may be able to change a time or location that day if you need/want to.
All in all, I was not too thrilled with the park food any time we were there. We stay at the Poly and I enjoyed Ohana and the other cafe there (cant remember the name)...You will be looking forward to the cruise food after a few meals!! LOL!!

Dude, this is some serious eating! And then to go on a cruise ship! I'd be packing nothing but pants with elastic waistbands :rotfl:.

I actually like the food at WDW, although we were on the dining plan last year and it was entirely too much food for us. My absolute favorite is the California Grill, do you know if you will be there for the fireworks at MK? The other cafe Shelly was referring to at the Poly is the Kona Cafe, which is another favorite.

Heck, I just like to eat! Is it too late to lose 20 pounds before August 22? Which, I should point out, is only

44

days away!

Hello,

I just found this thread...I know I am a slacker!!!! But with school and daughter's dance, I am just now getting things in order for the cruise.

We are a family of four and from Michigan. This is our third Disney cruise...first seven day cruise. We are in room 2632. We are on a wait list for main dining, but at this point I have come to terms that we will be on the late rotation. Two kids...son 12 and daughter 10.

I haven't had time to go through all the pages, but now that I am home for the summer, I can get caught up on that!!!:)

Added you to website list here let me know if you want more info adding.

Welcome.

We are a family of four from Michigan, too.
Matt is 11 and Marina is 8. We have late dining, also. This is our second DCl cruise. We went on a 3 night in Feb. and had a terrific time.

Trixmix- ANy cabin assignment yet?
We are still waiting. I have been checking every day.

Hi Christi,
I've been checking daily as well - usually twice daily :)

However, no assignment yet. From what others have said I expect we'll find assignments in 7 to 14 days.

Wayne,

I suppose I should give you our names-

Tammi (me)
Jon (hubby)
Trevor (son)
Kayla (daughter)

Let me be the first to thank you, Tammi. When responding to people in this thread I like to open the cruise roster in a separate tab so I can use names instead of Disboard nicknames.

:wave2:Hi neighbor, we are in room 2638. Actually, we were in 2632 on a cruise 3 years ago. Nice room, but a little noisy on Castaway Cay day (but you want to be up early that day anyway).

We too are wait listed for main dining. I actually felt rushed with main dining last time, but my DD is only 7. She tells me she will be fine, but I don't know! The only consolation is that they have the play and dine, so she could leave at 9 if she likes (or if we like!).

A friend who was on the Magic in November with her then 9 year old told me she really enjoyed second seating. She would order the cheese tray from room service, pour herself a vodka, and take her time getting ready. Kind of sounds nice (although I would have to pass on the vodka, one glass and I'd never make it to dinner )

Aurora's Mommy,

I am up early so the noise may help me in my quest to get my family moving!! I can never sleep past 7am on vacation.

We usually order the cheese tray before bed, so maybe I will just need to order as we get ready. No vodka for me...I am a rum girl!:dance3:

Sounds like a great bunch of people on this cruise!!!! I need to get some ideas for magnets and fish extenders. Although I am a KDG teacher and a scrapbooker- that is as far and my crafty talents get!!!!

Tammi,

We need to make a toast to rum when we're on the ship. I sit here typing as I sip my Bacardi and Diet Coke, the greatest drink in the world IMO.

Nice to know there's another rum head on the ship.

Bacardi and Diet Coke works for me and any tutti fruiti drink with rum as well!!! My husband drinks Captain Morgan's and Coke.
