California Adventure

Incredicoaster: July 28 to ???.

Radiator Springs Racers: August 18 to ???.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail: July 21 to August 14. Reopens August 15.


Disneyland

Star Tours: June 30 to ???.

Storybookland Canal Boats: July 28 to ???.

Casey Jr. Circus Train: July 28 to ???.



The Disney Gallery: April 2024 to ???.

Haunted Mansion:

August 11 to August 21. overlay addition for Haunted Mansion Holiday which debuts on August 22.

Haunted Mansion most likely down on August 4 for the Nightmare Before Christmas overlay

Feeling disappointed that August 2nd-6th was our only option to head to Disneyland this summer due to other obligations. I guess we'll just try to make the best of it.

Definitely a bummer so much is going down. Hopefully most of these are complete by the time our trip rolls around on the 19th. Fingers crossed that radiator springs gets delayed by a few days.

In recent years August has become refurb month. It's still summer schedule, but they try to fit in as much as possible before the super busy Sept-Dec period. In the old days, September used to be very quiet at the parks with lots of refurbs. Not anymore.

We’re scheduled for 8/6 to 8/9 currently, but will likely bump our trip up to 7/23 or 7/24 if it looks like Incredicoaster will still be under refurb during that first week or two of August (depending on what the calendar shows in the next week)!

Definite pros and cons to moving the dates though! Pushing it up means more passes will still be blacked out, but more people will still be on summer break! And while I don’t know how often this happens, but moving dates to the three to four days before the scheduled Incredicoaster closure could maybe run the risk of them needing to shut it down earlier? Is that something that happens?

Decisions, decisions! We’ve got a week or so to watch before it starts getting risky to change our flights without prices going up/seats filling up!

I wouldn't worry about it closing earlier. Frankly, if you are able to move your dates to July I think it's overall better for a variety of reasons. If you can attend on a Saturday, July Saturdays tend to be amazing crowd-wise.

I saw an article from 2019, it may be possible to have HM up and running in 11 days. This was Pre COVID so hopefully they are getting back into the swing of things from the long refurb last year.

I’ve actually been wondering if they’d have HM closed for the refurb on its “birthday” (8/9). Probably not something they usually take into consideration, but HM is one of the rides with a bit more of a fandom that acknowledges its opening date anniversary.

That's a great point and maybe that plays into it. Haunted Mansion has never gone down this early for the overlay addition. They could pull it down on the 10th as Sundays are slower at DLR. The deadline to switch over to Halloween is the 22nd.

It’s a bummer for sure! I’ll be at the parks with my family around the same days as you. Hopeful for Haunted Mansion! Sorry your little one is missing out on some rides they are excited for

Seriously considering cancelling our days
August 1 and 2.
No Matterhorn, Incredicoaster, or Star tours.
And now Pirates is off LLMP, so 20% of LLMp rides aren’t available so the value of that is gone and will be harder to book other rides.
These 2 days were add one to a San Diego SoCal trip so if the value isn’t there then we will cancel. Not to mention Soarin at half capacity and GOG only at 1 or 2 elevators.
Looks like we timed things about the worst you could in terms of dates
