August 2015 Car Rental Rate Watch

Joining in. I need a car rental just for 2 days. Picking up at MCO and doing a drop off at the Care Center at Disney. Right now with the Costco deal I can get a full size crossover for $153.00($52.00 per day) Thoughts? Any other codes to get the price down. This is for Alamo. I also want to stick with Alamo since it will be the easiest to do the drop off. Any help would be great!

So far Costco showing best prices. It's been dropping the last few days. Just booked 8/22 to 9/6 for full size for $364. Fingers crossed it goes lower.

Excellent! I am down to $360 now with a full size car for 14 days using the Alamo Insiders rate, Costco members contract ID 7014627, and the Visa coupon code AD2338FDF. Thanks! Every day there seems to be a small drop......I'll keep checking! :surfweb:

Funny.....I went back in to check on something and punched in my dates with the same discounts as before; in just 5 minutes the price went up to $377!

My reservation dropped another $15 to $350 for 14 days full size using BJ'S and Visa codes at 0700 this morning. Just checked again and the rate is still $350.

Using the Insiders rate, Costco Contract ID 7014627, and the Visa coupon code AD2338FDF, I've got $348 for a fullsize now for 2 weeks Aug 19th to Sept 2nd with Alamo. Every couple of days the rate goes down slightly. Now if I can just get it down to free, I'd be happy! :D

Mine is sky high right now, even using those Alamo Codes, and I am 8 days earlier in August. I have a somewhat mediocre rate booked already (way better than what I find now), but we are now landing 6 hours earlier, so I don't know what will happen if I show up that early to pick up my car. It's still the same number of days.

My 13 day rental is early August also, and I've seen absolutely no downwards pricing with Costco at all. I reserved months ago, and currently the best price is almost $200 more than I originally booked (and that's for a compact, I have a SUV booked because it was originally the cheapest option).

We are the same. I booked with Alamo Aug 5-16 for $340 for an SUV and there is absolutely nothing coming in even close to that now. We did book a minivan with Fox Rentals via carrentalsavers.com which was only $161 for the same time but I have only read bad reports on Fox so don't think I want to start or end my vacation with issues with a poor quality car rental company.

I will keep checking and will keep looking at Disboards for everyone's updates!

One never knows what will pop up. I just checked Alamo using Alamo Insiders and the Visa coupon and got a Premium for 341.52 (including taxes) for Aug. 15-23. The Premium vehicle was the cheapest option available. Not bad, but hoping for it to come down a bit from there as we get closer.

Using the Insiders rate, Costco Contract ID 7014627, and the Visa coupon code AD2338FDF, I've got it down to $333 for a fullsize now for 2 weeks Aug 19th to Sept 2nd with Alamo. Looking better and better each day! :D

In past years, I've noticed the best prices 2-3 weeks out, I hope that follows this year!
If not, any idea what happens if we show up 5 hours early for our car pickup?

I would think that would change the cost of your rental and they would charge you by the hour

I'm already being quoted for an entire extra day for the few hours I'm over, so I wouldn't be going any more over that whole day.

Down to $318 now. It's coming down a little at a time.
