Hi everyone! I know this is last minute but I received a coupon for 10% off Magic Stroller rentals. I used them last year and they were great! I highly recommend. They use City Mini strollers and offer a rain guard for no extra charge. They deliver and pick up right from your resort, and send you a text for delivery confirmation. If you are interested private message me so I can forward the link to those interested.

Wondering what Garden Grocer is exactly? I have heard of it but how does it work? Where abouts is it? We are Canadian would be still be able to order from it? We are on DDP but would be good for extras like milk/ water, snacks, fruits etc. Thanks :)

I'm wondering the exact same things. Usually we pack some pop tarts, gold fish crackers, etc.. in our suitcase...but think it would be easier to use Garden Grocer!!

Garden Grocer is a delivery service that will deliver grocery items to your resort for you. You select them online and prepay and then arrange to have them waiting there for you when you get there or sometime after you get there. You can definitely order if you are Canadian.
When we have a car rental we prefer to shop ourselves, it saves the delivery fee and tip, and I find I can get better prices. But when we don't it's a very convenient alternative.
Just google Garden Grocer and the site will explain everything for you:)

Yes-Yes! They are highly regarded on the DIS, and I am using them for the 1st time for our upcoming trip. I placed and paid for my order just yesterday. They called to confirm everything and I got to include the tip when I paid, so I dont have to do another thing. This is going to save time as well $$. We are not on the DP, so I ordered alot of breakfast items and snacks, as well as bottled water!

My mom and I LOVED using Garden Grocer. It saved us a ton of money!

Good to know!! Do you recall if Bell Services brought the items to your room or did you have to go down to Bell Services to pick them up?

We had to go down to Bell Services to pick our groceries up.

We have used them on 3 occasions. We order mainly breakfast items and uncrustables for the kids. We take advantage of the free ice water in the parks, but we do order 1 case of water to drink by the pool and to carry in the morning. When I check in,I let the desk know that we have an order and it is always brought to our room. Disney keeps your cold food in their fridge too. You just can't go wrong with them:)

So, I have resized the LGMH and laminated it to put on my lanyard with my KTTW and tix. I will be on an ECV so may make one to put on there too :goodvibes

Love the team august mickey on the lanyard! I'll be borrowing that idea...lol

How much do you usually tip?

How much do you usually tip?

I want to say maybe 10-15 percent or around there? When you check out they have the option of adding a suggested tip and I think ours was about $12? I might be remembering it completely wrong, I just know I selected the same amount as they were suggesting.

I have another question for you all, hope you don't mind.

What are your thoughts on pants in late August?? I know JEANS would be too hot but what about khaki's or knit/yoga pants? I was/am planning on purchasing shorts but I never wear shorts. I have to wear pants at work and at home I wear causal knit dresses.

I'm more comfortable in pants and I will get more use out of pants. Shorts would only ever be worn at Disney. My legs cause me to be self conscious but I'm thinking the mix of the heat and Disney will make me overlook that. ;)

Oh and I'm very anti-capris. I have thick muscalar calves and I have short legs so they just look awful on me. Can't wear those at work either.

I can tell you I NEVER WEAR SHORTS here in Maine. I just don't want my yucky, white, fat, veiny legs to show to people I may know. Disney is a totally different matter. I wear shorts, baby!! :rotfl: I'm short-legged girl, too, so yeah, I usually take the capris and cut them/hem them into shorts. And right now stores near you should start having that stuff on sale. I know some stores here do. Does that help?? Oh, and for the record, I've worn jeans in Disney in September and didn't die!

I would go with the khakis. I think the knit yoga pant would cling too much and make you hotter.

YOu could also get some capris and shorten them so that they come to the knee. All you would need is some iron on stuff from the sewing store. A clerk could help you.

I had to come on and tell this group that my Magical Express materials came today:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I am so excited that they are here. It means it is getting close.

I wouldn't wear pants, let me suggest yet another option.

In my everyday life I am a jeans and a tee kind of gal. When I go to Disney, all I ever wear is sundresses. I decided this on a 95 degree day in Epcot September 2010. They're loose, they are feather light and easy to pack, they take less space in my bag, and I appreciate the breeze blowing up my skirt if there is one. As an added plus, they are all on clearance right now this time of year, so if you never wear them again you aren't out much. If you really don't want your legs to show you can get a maxi dress, Old Navy has some cute ones. They'll keep you cool AND covered.

OOoh I love dresses! It would be great to have an excuse to buy more. lol Would I need to wear biker shorts or anything under them? My dresses I wear at home are a little too worn (several years old and kind of pilly) for public, but I do have a few nice maxi dresses that I planned on bringing for dinners. I need to hem them so I can wear flats though. Right now I can only wear big wedges with maxi dresses since I'm short. :)

Thanks! Khakis over yoga pants. :) I have a sewing machine so I could hem capris if needed. That is a good idea! If I see some good capris on clearance. Knee length shorts are sometimes hard to find.

:rotfl2: My legs are pure white too!!! Blindingly white. Everyone should have sunglasses on though right?! Thanks for the capri cut off idea. Might be easier to find capris on clearance than knee length shorts (which are my preference).
