Just looking for some info! We are doing a big trip August 5-10. I was just seeing if there is ever discounts for this early in August? I know that the free dining in the past has been later then this. The dates are firm because we have 3 teachers in the family and the following week my brother does the Livestrong ride.
My dad went to AAA and she said that they haven't offered anythign this week for the past 2 years.

we are right there with you..if we go this time of year, it is usaully aug. 15.. and they have usually had free dining during that time.

but we are going with our son, grandson and DIl, and she is a teacher.


however.. for the first time, this year value season starts aug 5!!!

is there hope for free dining aug 5???

Just called to book our trip for August 13 and we had a 30% off pin on our account that we got to use! It wasn't there last week! It works better for us than free dining because it is only 2 of us so 30% off the Poly saves us more than free dining. Keep up hope and keep trying!

We're going the first week of August (we're both teachers too!) We were fortunate enough to get a 30% PIN shortly before Christmas.

Mayhem and Smidgy, have you looked at the teacher discount at the Swan/Dolphin?? It's not a Disney PIN, but it can sure save you a whole lot of money. http://www.swandolphin.com/offers/teachers/index.html

There are 5 of us, and until we got the PIN we had booked a Deluxe Alcove room at the Dolphin-- it sleeps 6-- for something like $240 a night using the teacher rate.

We were initially looking at the same week as you and I had noticed that one of the Travel Agency's (I think it was Magical Vacations) was running a very good August promo for your dates. When I checked into it, the numbers were very close to a free dining promo - you may want to check them out. We ultimately had to change our dates so we couldn't take advantage of it but you may want to see if they're still offering that deal. Good Luck!

Well, I just went ahead and booked my 2 rooms at POR for August 20-25th.....RACK RATE and bought the QS dining plan

So now I sit and wait and hope for FD.....or RD....I'll take anything at this point

Oh Disney please come through for me this time! I am willing so melt in the heat with mickey if the discount is right! I went last july and we had a FD code under my DH name. The heat wasnt too bad. We also went in dec 2010 under a FD general public disct. So we are extremely spoiled by free dining! I NEED it to convince my DH to go! Especially now my lil guy is 3! Our other option is to stay offsite gasp. Not a big fan of that! Fingers crossed something comes in! Has anyone heard of a FD pin code for AUG floating around right now ? Or is it still too early? Risky dates - 8/15 has only been included in the FD promotion once in the last 3 years. Over the last 3 years it started the 16th, then the 15th, then the 19th.

I'd rather go earlier (your dates), but I booked for starting the 21st on because I was more confident.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, I already rented DVC points for the week at BLT for less than $200/nt.
