I don't know what to do. Our dining window opens on Saturday so I really really want to book now and then just apply FD or any promotion that comes along, however if FD doesn't come for our dates, then we have to cancel

We are booked for the 1st/2nd week of August. Free dining would be amazing! We have never been lucky enough to get in on one of these promotions even though we have been there multiple times. I would even consider upgrading to a deluxe if my dining was free! Fingers Crossed!!!

Now I just checked the disneyparks site. You can not book it due the ongoing maintainence but the deal for a Value Room, MYW tickets, & QS dining DID HAVE SOME EARLY AUGUST DATES. I am blowing up my TA phone right now to let her know to apply it as soon as she is able to. So excited. Fingers crossed that I can still keep my AoA room.

My dining window opened up on Tuesday. I have been calling everyday to make my ADR's, because I have not booked a package.
My dates are Aug.19-24. Crossing my fingers to get FD.

We are arriving on Aug 19 as well. I needed to make ONE LAST ADR today, for dinner at the Rose and Crown .. . and the reservations system . . surprise surprise . . . did NOT come back on line this afternoon

Well we are officially booked for August 23-September 1. I am psyched. However, trying not to get too excited because if FD doesn't happening, we are probably going to cancel.

Hi all, well I went to disneyparks.com, clicked WDW Resort. When the page opens there is this 1/2 page slide show ads. Flip through those until youget to the one that says "Create Your Own Disney Vacaction at at Value Resort" or something like that. When you click that go to the second offer listed it is shaded in light blue (has a kid eating a mickey bar) and under neath it it showed the following:
Room, Tickets & Dining
6-night, 7-day vacation packages with the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan and tickets valid at
all 4 Theme Parks, for as little as $93 per person, per day.

Total package price $2595*
Vacation Package Details

*Both sample packages are for a family of 4 (2 adults, one junior and one child) in a standard room at a Disney Value Resort for stays most nights during these select dates. The number of rooms allocated for these packages may be limited. Tickets valid for one theme park per day and must be used within 14 days of first use. See more package options.

Yes you may as long as there is availability at the particular resort you're wanting to book. If not, they can help you find hopefully a suitable alternative. I believe when they offer discounts, there are a certain number of rooms blocked for promotions but if you get in on it soon, your chances are very good to get your first choice.

Keep in mind, I'm noting because you are a newbie to the board if you are not booking your room or package through WDW, that the TA you choose is able to sell you a dining plan &/or allows changes to your reservations after the fact. I think you can't buy dining plans using priceline, expedia, etc. & they have restrictions not allowing changes after you book.

Good rule of thumb is to ask first, so you're not disappointed later

Goodmorning!!!! Jumping aboard the August Train if you dont mind. For the past 3 years we have not been able to afford The Animal Kingdom lodge...our budget has only allowed for value or moderate. Every year the kids beg me to go to AKL and we just cant make it. Also the past 3 years we have gone in May so this year we are going to try August and pray for a miracle!!! (aka special deal). Keeping my fingers crossed here that I can pull a rabbit out of a hat and make this "THE" year!!! If I find or hear anything I will def post it here.
