I need to rethink our plans. After reading that there won't be any monorail service for evening EMH, I don't think we will be going to the MK that night. We usually drive to the TTC and take the monorail so we don't have to fold up the stroller, and to avoid the bus crowd.

My husband, daughter and I will be staying at POP. This will be mine and my daughter's first trip to WDW and my husband hasn't been in 25 years. I would love to connect with another family who will be at POP at the same time....it would be even better if they had an only daughter like us around 7. Is that too much to ask??

I believe you would have to call or fax any special room or location request. I don't think you can put special request in online. I did the online check in back in 2009 and don't remember seeing a section for request. In the past I have always called to make special request. I called the Disney Travel Company who I booked with and and put in a request for a section at AKL. You can then still do the online check in. Remember it's not a guarantee that you will get it. Stan Solo, my suggestion if you want to request a certain section is to call either your travel agent or Disney reservations and have the request added to your resort reservation. Faxing no longer works as there is a newer reservation system. You can call the resort 3 days before your stay to see if they received the room request. Just remember that requests are just that, a request not a garuntee.

I did online check in both at CSR in March and POP in May. I called in my requests to Disney Reservations prior to checking in online.

For CSR in March I called 2 days in advance to see if they received my request. And we got my first choice of the 3 buildings I had requested!

For the May Pop, I requested to be first floor or near an elevator in the 70's building. I did online check-in and did not make a follow-up call prior. We got our request, first floor in the 70's!!

When you do online check-in, your arrival packet should be right there waiting for you! They can make adjustments to the room even if you do online check-in, however it will hold the line up a bit.

Thank you both for your tips. I already called Disney resvertaions and gave them my request. I'll try the phone call idea three days before we go then do the online check in and hope for the best.
The way I figure it their are only four mansions and one will be closed for refurbishments that gives us a 33% chance of getting the one we want plus the 1048 room in the alligator buoy. but, I think they tend to put families of five their.

I haven't gotten my Mickey mail either! I hope it comes soon. We leave in 37 days. Does anyone know if I need to call Disney and tell them my flight # and time has changed? It's only a 15 min time difference.

If your flight number has changed you need to call Disney and let them know. If your flight number is the same and just the time has changed then you don't need to call them, they already know.

Just booked CBR for 8/28 thru 9/3/11. It will be myself 46F and my DD 16. We have been to Disney numerous times but have never stayed onsite before. I have never booked a trip so close to departure before either. I'm usually booked at least 9 months in advance and then obsess over planning. I'm not the "spur of the moment" type but it sure is great knowing we only have 47 more days to go!!

We are in WL for August 13th-20th. It will be me, DH and dd(who will 14 just shortly before then) It will be her 1st trip and the first in extreme long time for both dh and I.
