August 2011 Alamo code???

It must be the dates because I used both carrentalsavers and the alamo site and I'm getting similar rates.

I also check at various times of the day. The price changes from one minute to the next.

We just booked a last minute trip and I am dying at the cost of car rentals! The lowest I can come up with is like $330!! We are going Aug 21st through the 27th. Costco members, insiders members, dvc members. I don't know that I will rent a car if it is going to be that expensive!

Can someone help?

what kind of vehicle are you looking for? With Alamo, you can get a midsize suv for $216.41 before any coupons.

We don't really care what kind of vehicle it is, it is only 2 of us so we don't have to worry to much.

I pulled up alamo with no coupons for my dates and it is showing 292.93 all in for a mid-size SUV.

We might have to plan to leave the day before since it is a Saturday. The no Sat. night stay is killing us.

Join the alamo insiders club and there is a $30 coupon off 5 or more days. It is free to join.

I just checked carrentalsavers . Com for your dates and I got $192 for an economy with Advantage & $203/$207 for Standard/full size with Alamo.

I ended up doing a Costco deal and got an SUV for $163. Not bad!:)

I am not sure why they were so high when I was looking, but I will take it!

There is an alamo insiders club coupon for $50 off a weekly rental. I rebooked my midsize SUV for 9 days for $202 total.

I'm sure it won't work for my trip in August. So far all coupons don't work for my Aug. 12th pick up and we have a Sat. stay. Glad someone is getting to use them.

The new Alamo insider code issued today is AD4004JDK and is good for $50 off as follows:

"Get $50 off a weekly rental when you reserve by August 2. This offer is good for an Economy through Fullsize car — on rentals between August 15 and September 26, 2011 — with a minimum rental of six days. Available at participating locations in the US and Canada."

FYI, I just tried the code with our August 27-Sept. 3 reservation for a full size SUV at MCO and it worked! Our rate dropped from $156 to $132 for the week. Give it a try on other vehicles or dates and see what happens.

Did you try the Alamo Insiders double upgrade coupon? That coupon does work for my August pick up while none of the other coupons do.

It did say that for me too but let me use it for my midsize suv also.

Probably a real dumb question, but where do you find the DVC member code?
Thanks in adevance
Sorry for the delayed response. To find the code you have to go to the "Member Perks" page and then click on the link for "At Home Perks". The rental car discount is listed right around the middle of the perks listing.

Here it is so you don't have go there:

10% Discount on Car Rentals
Members are eligible for up to 10% discount on a car rental from Alamo or National Car Rental. The discount can be applied to regular or promotional rates from either company.
Contact National Car Rental at www.nationalcar.com or by calling (800) 328-7945. The promotional code is 5036717.
Contact Alamo Car Rental at www.alamo.com or by calling (800) 662-2725. The promotional code is 309397.
Enter promotional codes under "Contract ID." Do not enter your Disney Vacation Club ID number on either website.

Hopefully I'm not violating some DIS policy by listing. If so, my apologies in advance...

Do you have to present a coupon when you pick up the car or can you just input the code?

On their website they have a limited time only $45 off weekly rate coupon.

Valid for rentals of an Economy - Fullsize Car.
Minimum of 6 day rental
Reserve by 8/2 for rentals b/w 8/15-9/26

I used it with my Alamo Insiders and was able to get a mid-size SUV for 133.42 for 8/28-9/3. Yes the code still worked even though it states car, hopefully I don't have any issues when I pick up)

The coupon code is AD2488ACV or you can just follow the link from their website!

Quick question, I was just playing around with my reservations and realized that the $133 I posted about above was with the wrong return time. I had left it at 1200 noon (picking up at 1230pm on the day we pick up)

When I run the rates for the right return time around 830am the rates goes higher? I thought they charged you more if you returned it late not early? It's not much higher, I think it ended up coming to $141 but I found that odd??

No Coupons Work for my week- Aug 13-20. Must be the dreaded "blackout" dates. :upsidedow
