subscribing myself. After looking into rental homes in VA Beach DH decided that it was a better deal to go back to WDW again (just there Aug09) as long as they offered the free dining. This from the man that said he had enough WDW and we wouldn't be back for another 4-5 years.
Hey, I'm not complaining. Now the scramble begins - where to stay - we don't want just QS so we may be forced to mod if that's the only option at values. Then there is the fly/drive question. DH has to do the driving so that means we'll have to stop which shortens our time at WDW but it's so much cheaper than flying and we'll have a car to stock up the room with drinks and snacks. Flying is so much faster and easier with 4 kids and magical express. I don't want to wait any longer. I want to know what they are going to offer so I can finish my planning.

Funny, this sounds just like us! I was looking into Myrtle Beach, Va Beach, The Outer Banks etc..and decided that if you factor in food & entertainment WDW w/ free dining is a much more economical choice BUT we also have to drive when we usually fly. We are driving from NJ so almost the same distance too and DH will be driving and isn't gung -ho on it. I am more than willing to do some (or half) of the driving, but he hates being the passenger more than he hates driving so I rarely get to drive.

I think we'll be doing POR (we're 5) but I also am hanging on the question of free dining...will it come or not?????? Once I start planning, I just want it booked!! Here's hoping they come out with it soon!!!!!

We are driving from NJ so almost the same distance too and DH will be driving and isn't gung -ho on it. I am more than willing to do some (or half) of the driving, but he hates being the passenger more than he hates driving so I rarely get to drive.

We got tired of waiting so we just booked and finalized everything or reservations. If we get the code or if they change the discount on the rooms we'll just cancel the old reservations. The DW likes everything nice and tidy - so I do as told Makes life so much easier that way

LOL..same with us, but I'm fine with being in charge of the kids and car activities. We drive to SC about 13 hrs. to visit family and the kids do fine in the car, so I'm sure this will be fine too. As a matter of fact it works out great because we can stop and spend a night or 2 with family and won't have to add a hotel into the budget.

We'll be waving right back at you (or maybe I'll be jumping out the window!!) Good Luck. to all of us on getting a great discount or FD!

CM at reservations just told me (she thinks) - new discounts for the general public will be announced sometime in April. We have reservations (room only) in late August NO PIN!

We drive from NJ too and we split the drive pretty evenly. We've booked everything already for our Aug trip but are waiting for FD to kick in so our TA can rebook it.
I am making Adr's monday morning!!
I have asked this in so many threads but haven't got an answer so I will try here:
We're staying at CBR, and doing DXDP. If free dining kicks in, will we be able to get fd and upgrade to dxdp? Can we pay the difference?
Also, if a bounceback for FD is available when we are there and we book it, can we upgrade to dxdp with that?

We are also driving but from PA near Pittsburgh so I think our drive time will be about the same also, I am driving with my 4 kids tho, age 7,4,3,1 but I just can't imagine taking them all into an airport checking luggage, hauling all their things, making them go thru security....oh my I would lose my mind!
But I'm just like both of your husbands, I hate to not be in control of the car, won't get any rest when dh is driving! But we are going to stay overnight somewhere along the way.

We are doing POR and hoping for FD, we are on DxDP now and I think from reading that we can just upgrade to DxDP using the FD and paying the difference. Looks like we will be there at the same time!

We booked last month. I used my 20% pin and added DP. That way I was able to make some reservations, including CRT, without having to prepay. I was able to get all the ADRs that I wanted at 180 days.

That's the only reason I booked....still hoping for FD!

We talked about going straight thru on the way down but I think the kids would be crazy by the time we got there. LOL We are however going to start driving around 11pm on Thurs night, then we can spend the night somewhere on Friday when we are over half way, get up refreshed on Sat morning early and hopefully only have 4-5 more hours to drive. I just hope the kids sleep on that first nights ride, we did that one other time thinking they would sleep but they didn't cause they were too excited to get to the beach so they were up all night with us in the car, lol

My guess--based on release dates the past 3 years...is late March/early April.

Since the current discount is through March 27th - I would think the new discounts/promotions would be made March 28th (jmho).

This is basically what I heard from the CM when I asked about promotions during our stay, she said to watch for those to come out after the current ones end.
