August 2008 Disney Trek PTR

YAY! That means 7 weeks and 2 days for us! Of course, we're staying a few days at my grandparents before.

I definatly won't be able to sleep! :)

We must have been typing at the same time. I know I blame DH for not sleeping, but I'm just as bad! :lmao:

Sleep the night before?:confused3 Who SLEEPS the night before?:rotfl2:

48 days! (How many sleeps?:lmao: )

How many sleeps all depends on how much packing and cleaning I leave until the last week  I'm rather prone to wait until the last minute to pack and clean up the house:rolleyes1

Six weeks from tonight I should be home from work and on vacation. :cool1: We don't leave until the following Tuesday, but that's ok, I'll still be on vacation. I can't wait.:woohoo:

Last night I went online at Disneyshopping.com and bought 3 more T-shirts. Oldest DD has wanted an Ariel shirt forever and I finally found one on sale for $4.99 and I got youngest DD another Tink Shirt and I bought a Mickey Mouse shirt for me. That should do us girls for Shirts. Now we're going to have to take care of DH!

Here are a couple of pics from past trips just for fun!!

The above pics were taken at the old Ocala WDW Visitor's Center off I-75 that is no longer there.

This pic is from outside the old Coke Tasting place that is now Club Cool. :drinking1 We liked it even better the old way. Especially the ice tunnel you had to go through to get inside. The Beverly is just as bad now as it was then :rotfl2:

Like you, I like the retro shots. Since we have never driven, I really enjoy seeing your old Visitor Centre ones.

Take a deep breath cause our time is coming!

When you start posting pictures of former trips, that's a sign you're getting really close to your next one! You can just picture yourself standing right there in those places once again. At least those that still exist.

You'll show us your new shirts when they arrive, won't you?
It's not for me. declansdad wanted to see them.:)

This time next week, we should be in Animal Kingdom. It doesn't seem real.

pooksma - If you ever do drive, you have to come through Nashville on your way. I'll fix you all a big old Southern dinner!

The old Visitor Center was so cool. There was a big Mickey and Minnie out front that we'd always stop and video the girls at. They'd run around and talk to their daddy who was videoing them. The first time we did it the girls were about 2 and 5 years old. The last time we were there was in 2004 so they were the ages you see in the pictures above. It's like your pictures of Declan in front of the dinosaur.

Yes, our time is getting close. 42 days from today and we'll be leaving to drive :car: down and you guys will be arriving!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi! :wave2: I'll have to spend some time catching up, but just wanted to let you know I'm here. :goodvibes

Welcome to our report. So glad to have you. Hope you enjoy. I've just started reading your report recently and am enjoying it. :)

Welcome to our report. Glad to have you! We'll watch for you guys too. I have some friends that just got back from Wilderness Lodge and they loved it!! We've never been there but that will definitely be rectified this trip as we have ADR's at Whispering Canyon for lunch on the 11th. Can't wait!! That would be so cool to meet. We plan to have our LGMH's on our backpacks or belly bags. So watch for those. Are you guys getting as excited as we are? You know it's just 6 weeks away.

All right, I'm all caught up! Your daughter is a very talented artist--I call it a good day if my stick figures look like stick figures. :rotfl:

Looking forward to more!

Thank you very much for the compliment on my daughter's drawings. I'll tell her when she comes home from camp on Friday. She always likes to hear when someone likes her artwork. I'm with you though, I can't draw a stick figure either.

Our new shirts came in yesterday. Maybe I can get the DD's to model them this weekend and post some pics. I also got some iron on transfer paper and plan to try my hand at making us a couple of shirts. Who knows what they'll turn out like? :rotfl:

Monday night (the 1st night both DD's were at camp) and what did Tracy and I do? We watched all our old WDW Planning Videos. :happytv: How romantic was that. :rotfl2: But we enjoyed it anyway and we couldn't believe how quiet the house was. But he made up for it last night. Last night he took me out to dinner at the Outback Steakhouse. Man the food was good. Everything was peaceful with no kids arguing or anything!! Don't get me wrong, our girls are really great kids, but this week is pretty nice with just DH and me. I intend to enjoy it as much as possible. Who knows when it'll ever happen again that they'll both be gone for 5 days. :) Tonight we have church, but tomorrow I took a vacation day from work, so who knows what we'll get in to. Can't wait to see. ;)

Okay, I'm caught up! I'm excited about another pretrip and trip report with teenagers!! It's a totally different head. Totally. (Did you ever watch Square Pegs?)
The drawings are beautiful! I loved the Disney Party!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. I agree, traveling with teenagers can be a different experience. I've never seen Square Pegs. I'm not even sure what it is.

Our girls are really a lot of fun to travel with. They love Disney almost as much as their dad and I and they're both really excited about going.

Thanks for the compliments on DD's drawing. She'll be so pleased that someone else liked them. The Disney party was a lot of fun. I think the girls thought it was a little silly, but they got into the spirit of it and seemed to have a good time. Maybe one of these days I'll actually beat them at the Disney Scene It Game. Not!

I just got caught up on your report. I loved the window design you did. I'm working on coming up with something for our window too. Looking forward to more on your report!!

Old sitcom from the eighties! It had Sarah jessica Parker before she was somebody! :lmao:

Can't wait to see what you come up with for the window! I've got to do some research to see what kind of windows CBR has fo Christmas decorations!!

Still thinking about that. I'll probably take several things and then put it together when we get there. Hopefully, the girls will want to do it when we get there and help come up with an idea. :)

Thought I'd post a picture of our newest Disney shirts. We're pretty pleased with them. ::yes::
