Our next trip home will be at the end of August, 2005. I am trying to decide on one of two weeks. Either the full week of August, or the next week which is the last part of August and the beginning of September. We will be staying Saturday to Saturday. Is there much of a difference in crowds or weather during this time. Hurricane season would affect both weeks, I think?

The biggest difference in those two weeks is that thw eek that goes into the first week of September includes Labor Day Weekend. Everyone has a long weekend, even the schools that have started back already.

Before I make a decision, I would look at this year's calendar to see if the hours in the parks are curtailed more the week that goes into Sept. or maybe the other way, maybe Labor Day weekend has longer hours.

from personal experience :D , the later in aug, the better.........
there are lighter crowds (even LD weekend) cos more schools are back in session, or just about to go back (so many stay home to buy clothes/supplies, i.e., "get ready"). last LD weekend, we "walked on" many rides, but the weekend prior had 20-40 minute waits. (apparently, schools in many other countries go back later in sept ~ we met a lot of international travelers).
the only drawback is that park hours may be shorter ~ but you're able to do many more attractions during the day (save EPCOT for the eves).
one week norm doesn't make much diff in weather ~ in theory, it should be cooler later, but it doesn't always work that way.
