Yep sounds good (and a lot of work ;) ) but I'll put the links on Page 1 if you send them to me.
Thanks :)

Cheers,

Also, is it true that we have to pay for parking even if we stay on site disney hotels???

Hi Melinda and all,

No, we did not pay for parking at the DL Hotel. We use their self-parking lot and it is a walk from the lot to the hotel. We only stay for 2 nights at a time, so we have little luggage and are walkers in our family. You do have to pay for valet parking. You won't need to park elsewhere if you stay at one of the resort hotels. Sorry, do not know the cost of the valet parking, probably $6.00.

ESTELLE: So sorry to hear about all your flooding. Hang in there, and thinking of you on the East coast, hope it all subsides soon.

Barbara :)

Hi all,

PM me if you decide you want to stay at HOJOs and need the contact info. from dsnylndmom. I'll send it to all interested.

Barbara

Grumbo, did you say that you are going to Vegas and DL in 2 weeks?? Jetblue is running a special from Vegas to Long Beach for 29.00.

Can you also index where all the pictures are??

I bet if you took out all of our more colorful (colourful) posts we'd only have about 50 boring pages.

I like the direction you and Jazzman have taken with the new JGE Travel Agency. I'd like to see the two of you expand on your offerings. How about some onboard fun too...Mark

As we all know by now, Grumbo and Jazzman can party with the best; but they're still jacket and tie kind of guys at work.

Another idea into finding relevant info is to move some of it over to the yahoo group. I know awhile back I checked and most of the links posted were over there, we could probably move whole posts over too that have good information in them, one nice thing about that is that it's searchable.

Another option instead of using yahoo groups would be for someone to post the info on their website

I was thinking about doing something similar (maybe copying the relevant posts off to another thread?) but if we can just index them and send them to Grumbo for the first page of this thread, it's probably easier.

Maybe we can split the job up? I'd be happy to help with this in my "free" time. (Since I'm a network administrator and idiots persist in writing computer viruses to mess us up, it's unpredictable when I'll have to work ridiculous hours. )

Canadian weather update ...

So far the summer of 2004 sucks!!!:( May and June were both cool and damp, and now we're having a miserable July! Every week they promise the long range weather's going to improve - but NO! Today is overcast and drizzling (AGAIN) with a daytime HIGH of 70F (21C)!

I for one will be looking forward to the hot hot temperatures on the cruise next year! It may be our first taste of summer!

Hi. I noticed someone asked about paying for parking when staying at a Disneyland property. Although they don't tell you - I know for a fact that when you stay at the Grand Californian you are *magically* charged a daily parking fee as well as a daily fee for the newspaper. (Wheather you want it or not). You just don't know about it till you check out. ;) I'm assuming the Disneyland Hotel is the same. I think you'll find it on your bill next to "Taxes and Charges".

:cool1: I think the idea of putting the relevent pages on the first page is great. It will be very useful in telling DH wheere to find the info he is always looking for.
Rain :umbrella: seems to have stopped. Of course the forecast is for showers from now until some undefined date. Like August. The lawn is growing and growing. But it is much too wet to mow. Before long we will have small blue animals living in it. LOL Gotta watch those Smurfs.

I like TWhipple's idea. Maybe someone could come up with a format and rules, and then we could get volunteers to take a group of pages (example, 1-10, 11-20, etc.) and index every significant topic that starts in their group. (Have to include in the rules whether Mark's photo finds are significant - may want to index them just so we know where NOT to look:hyper: )

I am getting lost with all these technical undertakings on the boards.

I am SOOOOOO happy my daughter lives in Long Beach, California, so we have our airport limo, place to stay, tour guide, chauffer & shuttle to the port.

Hope you all have a great day. The weather is perfect in N.J. - the humidity is down, mild breeze & the sun:sunny: is out. Toodles:wave: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Hello all--

I've been reading through all of the suggestions for indexing the site and think it's a great idea. As the cruise approaches and more and more messages are posted to this thread it may become all but impossible to find meaningful information that you want to review.

All of the ideas sound great and I can only say that those who volunteer to do the indexing are brave and honorable! :)

I'd also like to throw out another suggestion. As you may have noticed when viewing the main page of our website, I created a forum at ThreeCircles.net. (Not too sure why I did this; just bored I guess! :teeth: ) At any rate, we could set up an entire forum devoted to the "Bringing the Magic Home" Cruise and create numerous sub-forums within it. We could have one on Excursion Information, Pre-Cruise Hotel Information, Port Information, etc., etc., etc. Older messages (already existing on here) could easily be copied and moved to the appropriate sub-forum and new massages could either be posted here, under the appropriate sub-forum at ThreeCircles.net, or both. This may prove to be a little bit easier because any number of people could help in the indexing process rather than just one or a few.

I'm game for anything though! As I said, all of the ideas sound great and I'm sure they all would work.

JEANNE

Hi Jeanne,

I live in Lakewood which is right next to Long Beach. It's great you can visit your daughter and family before the cruise!

Take care, dh's mom (my MIL) is originally from NJ, so we have a soft spot for your state!

Here's some info. on the newly refurbished pool:

New Pool Area Opens at Paradise Pier Hotel

A new pool area at Disneyland's Paradise Pier Hotel is now open. Disney Imagineers created a boardwalk theme saluting the heyday of seaside amusement parks. A new wooden rollercoaster-inspired waterslide called "California Streamin'" -- the longest at the Disneyland Resort -- takes adventuring guests toward a high-speed splashdown.

A new wading pool, shaped as a life preserver, provides parents with a quieter area to play with their children. After a dip in the pool, guests can continue cooling off with a frothy beverage at the "Good Libations" pool bar. Decorative awnings, brightly colored umbrellas and vintage billboards surrounding the deck help guests celebrate the glamorous days of oceanfront boardwalks.

Jason, how would the sub-forums be set up? Would you do that or could we do that as we found a new one? I like the idea, but I know I haven't checked the Yahoo group because it's just too much to keep up on. However, it would be nice to reference info from this thread as well as others (both repos are going to the same places so they may have helpful info and all CA cruises are going to Cabo, other thread may have good general info.). What if on Three Circles site we just did an index of thread and page number for info. Jason, could this be edited by more than one person? I like the idea of different people taking 10 or so pages. I know I can find time now to do some of it (gathering topics, keeping current with the new info posted, etc), but I was thinking doing it all alone would take big time and can't do that until later. Let us know what we can do on your site Jason and anyone can PM me if you're interested in helping index. How's that sound?

Grumbo - Are you planning to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Anaheim? If so, I had a very bad experience there last summer. No A/C in the room. More than 4 trips to the front desk to even get someone to look at it. Finally moved us to a small/noisy room. Desk clerk confirmed that they knew the A/C was broken. Poor response from manager - never arrived at work prior to 10AM, telephone messages were left unanswered. If you are planning to stay there, I would reconsider.

Good luck,

UMTerp

Thanks so much Barbara for the PPH info...I am struggling which hotel to stay in...DLH or PPH!!! PPh is less DVC points than DLH....What to do, what to do??? :confused3 :
