I read your lovely tribute poem to your daughter last year, and have often referred back to read it again. I have a signed donor card and a specification on my drivers' license. I only wish more people would realize the vital gift this can provide to others and would also sign up.

As a father of seven, I can't imagine a more devastating event than the loss of a child, especially at a young age! I want you to know how truly sympathetic I am on this day. Thank God for the faith that has seen you through the past 10 years.

Hi Rae,
I have been an organ donor ever since the program became available, and I've talked my DH into it also. Our first child was stillborn at term and even though we offered the organs they were unable to accept them. It would have helped had we known that something good came out of the experience. Stories such as yours should help persuade those that haven't really thought about it. We'll be thinking of you.

Rae, Phil and I send our love and prayers to you and the family. We are all organ donors, Phil, me and the three girls, even talked ex-son-in-law into it and sveral of our daughters friends are donors.

We had 5+ inches of rain yesterday and they forecast scattered thunderstorms until thursday evening. The lawn looks really nice...nice but very long.

Actually you can burn through some cotton clothing that isn't woven tight enough (lesson learned the hard & painful way) ... so with my family's history of skin cancer I'm anal about putting on sun block (not sun screen) even under my clothes.

I had a bathing suit once that was cotton with blue and white stripes. First time I wore it, I took it off and I was striped as well. I looked really funny sporting a tan and white striped body.

HOLIDAY INN SAN PEDRO HOTEL UPDATE

We currently have 28 rooms (78 people) of the 60 rooms booked for our "little" group for the night before our repo cruise sails.

That's gonna be one heck of a party that night!!!

Wow, and we're still over a year away from our big cruise! I bet we have the whole hotel booked by the time we go.

Doing much better this afternoon - thank you all for your kind notes and emails.

Mom has decided NOT to come with us on the cruise, so I'm positive now that we will be staying at the H.I. San Pedro - just got to get the room reserved and make the change with the TA.

Do we have a block set aside that I need a special code for or just make the call myself and see what I can get?

There are only 60 rooms in the Holiday Inn and they will not take ressies over the phone right now from individuals calling ... BUT ... they have given us a block of rooms already for Friday, August 19, 2005 The deal is:

* room for Friday, August 19
* $89 + taxes/fees
* includes continental breakfast (not normally included)

All you need to do to reserve a room is email my TA directly (jltraveldreams@cs.com) with your room requirements (smoking/nonsmoking, 1 bed/2 beds, number of people per room, credit card info to GUARANTEE room, your c/c will not be charged at this time)

The PARK & CRUISE package is not available for cruises longer than 7 days ... so locals can drive themselves and pay $10-$11 per day to park at the cruise terminal, or if you have someone drop you off in San Pedro we can get one-way transfers from the hotel to the cruise terminal (4 blocks away) for $3 per person.

The FLY & CRUISE package -- if you are flying into LAX on Aug 19th and want the FLY & CRUISE package, please indicate in your email to Janis if you will need transfers from an airport (LAX, Long Beach or Santa Ana) ... we'll see if it's cheaper to do the FLY & CRUISE package through the hotel, or to arrange for a Super Shuttle (or other form of transfer) for you from the airport to the hotel. We'll do the research for you, but you need to let Janis know that we need to do that research for you.

I also booked for Thursday night and got the same rate of $89. Can't beat that!
