I think this thread will slow down since the initial "wow" factor of going on this great cruise has worn off a bit. I bet things will pick up in '05.

I noticed that the postings have slowed a bit. But I still find it amusing the number of times I sign in and the name on the cruise meet thread is one I reccognize.
We are having severe thunderstorms and high winds. At least that is what they, the weather service, said. So far just winds and thunder and heavy rain showers. I think we missed the nickle sized hail.
I ordered the two Panama Canal books this morning. Giving them to Phil for his birthday. Can't do Father's Day since they won't be here. Ah yes I plan ahead. Talk to you all tomorrow.
Estelle

Well here's another canal shot.

Hey Congrats twhipple! Now that's more spending money for drinks!

Hopefully the spend it all on our October Cruise...

Boston Petér,

A little birdie told me that Jenn will be celebrating her birthday this weekend, I'm not about to reveal her age, but I hear she was born in 1970. Happy Birthday Jenn!!!

:bday:

FINALLY finished reading PANAMA CANAL BY CRUISE SHIP ... love it ... very interesting, very imformative ... I've now handed it off to DH to read ... and then the 14 year old DD will (reluctantly) read it (with lots of whining) ... and then it'll start making the rounds through the rest of our group of 23 :teeth:

So now it's time for me to tackle THE PATH BETWEEN THE SEAS. I usually can get through a Harry Potter book in less than a week, but I'm thinking this one is going to take a bit longer.... ;)

Ahhh... Audio tapes and champagne. What could be better? :hyper:

Ohhhh... Champagne and souffle!

Oh, sorry. I have champagne on the brain. :teeth:

I'm not much of a reader either, but I figured if I can keep up with this thread, I can read a book ::yes::

10 pages to go to Part II :jumping1:

Thanks for the link for the books on tape. Unfortunately they are currently unavailable. I guess I'll just have to read the book (while drinking champange of course)!

Paul

Boy! I wish I could keep up. I think I'll have to quit work, I hate not being able to get online 4 or 5 times a day so I can keep up with this thread.

We are very excited about our trip to Cal. and being on the Magic for 14 days. We've booked our stay for the Holiday Inn throu Susans TA. Can't wait to meet everyone.
I think I'll get the PC books as a Xmas present for my DH, he loves to read.

Thanks to everyone for all the great info and pictures of the Canal.

BTW Estelle I was read the cruise list and noticed that your were bringing a 6 year old DS? Does Phil know about this, LOL

cool aerial picture of the canal.

I need to post so I know where I left off!

Yeah Ginger, we got that straightened out. Friends are going with us and the 6 year old is theirs. Phil's comment was "ah a medical miracle."
Melinda-- did you have the heavy storm last night? I gather parts of the area you are in got struck pretty well.
Denine- I understand that, there have been times when I posted just so I would know where to start the next time.
DH printed out the picture of the canal. I know a number of people who are interested in just seeing what it looks like.
Speaking of DH he needs the computer so I'll talk to you tonight. Estelle

I think Sandy will only need 1 suitcase for our 14 day repo cruise.

Oh Lordy, don't let my DW see this suitcase, I could be in "BIG" trouble!!!

The problem with the cruise being 14 + months away is that Sandy is planning on buying clothes now for this cruise. She plans on buying 2 sets. One that will fit her now and one that she hopes to fit into in 14 + months. Do any of the other woman out there have plans to start dieting now for our August 2005 cruise? If so, why start now?...Mark

Yeah I'm starting to diet now - I've got 100+ pounds to lose in 14 months, I have to start now!! But, I won't buy new clothes now (and then again next summer). :teeth:
