If you use photobucket you can choose an option under EDIT: 50% of photo. Simple

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about using Photobucket. I just try to resize my pics myself and they wind up getting fuzzy. I just redid Haley's pic and it is a lot clearer than before.

Tracy,

We are thinking about you and your Mom. Please let us know how everything is after the surgery is over.

My Mom had a knee replacement about 5 years ago. Lately she has had so much pain in her back, leg and hip. They took x-rays and found out part of the knee replacement broke. She is having surgery to have it replaced next Tuesday. I am taking the day off from work to be with Dad at the hospital and Lenny is taking off to babysit Haley since Mom and Dad usually watch her 3 times a week. We're hoping everything will turn out ok (she's 75 years old).

Reneé

Tracy,

Keep us posted -- Prayers & Pixie Dust coming your way ! :wizard:

Caution -- women do have to remember that we have different symptons then men for heart attacks..... A good friend of ours - was debating to get on a flight to Buffalo NY for job training or go to the hospital since she wasn't feeling well (not sleeping etc.). Luckily - she went to the hospital - since it turned out she was having a heart attack. Everything did turn out okay - first they did the stints (sic) and a then a double bypass. She is doing well today and has made a full recovery.

Tracy -

Thank God you & your sis insisted she see her doc yesterday and that the heart doc could see her today. It's probably the best thing that they caught it earlier rather than later!

Please let us know if there is anything we can take care of for you. You need to focus on your Mom right now. Have Bill call me if there is something you need or if you would like me to post an update here for you.

Prayers and Pixie Dust to Mom and lots of hugs for you my friend.

Warmly,
Nancy, David, Megan & Emma

No problem! I have a unique knack of taking any beautiful shot and destroying it with software so this option works well for me!

Okay, got the photo to a more reasonable size. Thanks for everyones help. Only took me an hour and a half......Good thing I'm not working in the computer field......I'd be so fired.

Tracy, sending you our prayers and wishes. Hope surgery goes well, and that your mum has a quick recovery.

Thanks for the great job on the newsletter. We enjoyed reading it all together.

Allan, Victoria is about 1 1/2 hours away from Nanaimo. It's a small world isn't it.............

Martina

Tracy,
Positive thoughts and pixie dust from NY for your Mom and you.

Renee,
Same for your Mom and you, too. Sending good thoughts and pixie dust.

Now that the Westbound cruisers have received their documents, has Disney told them when the Formal/Semi-Formal/and special theme nights will be for sure? I would like to have this information so I can plan my Palo nights. Can anyone help?
Lynn -

It might be hard to plan as our cruise is backwards from theirs, we have an overnight they don't and they have an extra port we don't.

The Florida res rates came out for may repo after the final payment was due (think it was 45 days out or there abouts the rates came out). Therefore you probably won't be saving much. We talked about canceling this cruise and hoping for CM rates, but we would only be saving about 1500, and would loose our Nav Verandah. I figure if we had paid for a cat 11 in the first place we'd be at the same price. Not worth it for us to even think about it.

We had this problem twice last year!! Our one giant bag was overweight on one flight on each of two different vacations.

The first time was on United at the beginning of a vacation. We were not given the option of taking stuff out of that bag to bring it within the 50# limit. The Skycap just weighed it, put it on the conveyer and asked us for the $25 (paid by credit card).

The second time was on American at the end of a different vacation. The bag was over the 70# limit. We took stuff out to get it under 70, but there was no way to get it under 50#, so we paid the $25 by cc.

Needless to say that giant bag will not be joining us on the August trip (if ever again). We bought another 4 piece luggage set to add to the 3 pieces left from the 1st set. Now that Emma is over 2 and not a lap baby on flights anymore, her ticket increases our checked baggage allowance to 8 for the four of us.

We used to travel with the theory of taking the least number of bags possible, i.e. traveling with big bags. Now, we have revised this to taking more bags that are smaller.

Once bitten, twice shy.

Thanks for the Pin Update, Robin! Looks like we'll have lots to buy! It appears that Disney is trying to have a more fair method of distributing these pins:

"This unique Disney experience will features fantastic themed-merchandise to remember this unique trip. As part of the merchandise assortment, there will be a collection of Limited Edition pins.

Based on initial Guest feedback regarding these pins, the Disney Magic® team has created a pin release process. It is the hope that this process will create a fair, equitable and enjoyable experience for all Guests on board the Disney Magic®.

Pins will be released at Up Beat - Deck 3 Forward.
Release times for pins will be the following:
Port Days - 5:30 PM to 6: 30 PM
Sea Days - 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM
To purchase these pins, Guests should check in with a Crew Member prior to entering Up Beat to verify Guest's name.
The Crew Member will give Guests one (1) voucher for the pin being released that day.
On the initial day of release, Guests may purchase up to one (1) pin, per style.
Guests can either pay for the pin at the merchandise register in Up Beat, or return to Up Beat before closing that same day of release to purchase the pin.
The next day, any remaining quantities of the previous day pins will be available to purchase in Mickey's Mates - Deck 4 during regular store hours (please check your Personal Navigator for store operating hours).
For specially created Limited Edition Crossing Cruise pins released in Mickey?s Mates (after initial release in Up Beat), Guests may purchase up to five (5) pins of a particular per style, per day until quantities are sold out.
This information will also be shared to Guests on board during the Crossing Cruise. "

Is this typically how pin releases are handled at "Pin Cruises"? I've never been on one, but I want ALL of these pins!!!!!

Arlene

Let's see...that means that right after breakfast I will be outside UpBeat and on port days I may be just a little late for dinner!! At least Dudette # 2 & 3 will know where to find me at those times!

Izzamac- I sent our check to you be but I sent it from Work in a Wells Fargo envelope. The check does have Tim McGraw on it, but I am sure it will be lost on you... :earboy2:

Got the check! Hey, we love country, much to Grumbo's dismay! Just wish the check had Tim's wife's picture instead! No one else probably cares, but Kenny Chesney's album "Be As You Are" has some great Caribbean Cruise inspiring tunes! Gets us ready for the Islands!

J.G.E. Pin Acquisition Services

As previously mentioned on this thread J.G.E. has the answer to your prayers.
Do you want to spend half your time standing in lines, waiting to buy little chunks of metal with a rodent on them, when you could be sunning yourself, enjoying the complimentary food, and mingling with the other "Fools"????
I think NOT!!!!!
Well J.G.E. in its never ending search to bring you the services you want, and deserve has decided to join our "ChildMind" Service with Our Pin Acquisition Service (P.A.S.). To us it makes only great business sense, plus you get your little yard apes out of your hair, and J.G.E. will also be getting those DCL pins that you'll need to sell on E-Bay after the cruise to pay for the darn cruise!!!!
Every morning we'll whisk your children away to what we call "Mark and Izzi's Pirate Den" which is situated at the stern of the ship on Deck 7. We have the key to the door so the little darlings will not be able to escape, uh get into mischief. During the day we will be providing their meals as well as unlimited Mickey Bars from room service. This is all included in your nominal fee paid to J.G.E. .
Think of it!! Laying by the pool without your little darling wanting to go to the bathroom, wanting to go sit in Mickey's Ear, telling you they feel sea sick. That will be J.G.E.'s concern now. As we will be in the tropics we so far have acquired the KTTW's to Marsha as well as Melinda's room. This way if the wee ones want to get some shut eye we have a place to stow them.
The kiddies will enjoy that popular DCL sport of Elevator races. We will also be having scavenger hunts for the little ones. They will be asked on "Pin Days" to come back with the pin of the day. They may have to stand in line for hours, but they'll be eligible for the big prize of the day. The pins will be turned into representatives of J.G.E. and the prize winner will be awarded DCL Luggage tags!!! YES!!!!
That evening J.G.E. will sell the pins to members of the Fools Group at a greatly discounted rate!!!!!! Thats right 50% off!!!!of the $40.00 we're going to charge on EBay.
The ChildMind service is only $25.00 per day per child, and the pins are 50% off.. I know you're asking "How can we do it???" Well beside the fact we have no shame, we care about you all :)

Here are children lining up for pins at the last J.G.E. Extravaganza!!!

PM Either Jazz or I with your requests....

Cheers,
Grumbo
