Mel, I enjoyed seeing the photo of your MIL & FIL. They are a very nice looking couple. I see the similarities between your Bob and your FIL. Sending pixie dust and prayers that your MIL gets well soon, and that you may all once again enjoy a special magical cruise together. I hope you got your nap, heaven knows you & Bob both must be exhausted. Hugs to you and your family.

Small world Allan, you staying in Bellevue. My SIL & BIL (Brian's sister) and family are world travelers like you, Pam and your dd. They would love to meet up with you all someday, and of course we wish we could be there too! Maybe next time.

Robin, sounds like it was a very fun day! I do not know what those belly things are, but I love seafood, so I think I'd probably love them! Lots of fun for you and you dd today!

My dad was admitted to the hospital again several hours ago. My mom hasn't called since.... I think they've got him on antibiotics now because the gallbladder is infected. I'm guessing it will be removed tonight or tomorrow but I really don't know. Just so you know what a tough guy my dad is, after being released last night with some drugs to take for the pain (until he could see a surgeon) he did yard work all day today. They gave him the option of going home last night or staying in the hospital with a morphine drip. He never should have gone home. He only went back in because he couldn't stop shaking and sweating (a sign of infection.) My mom is at the hospital with him now.

Kathy - your Dad is one tough guy! I'm sure the hospital never imagined him doing yard work today when they gave him the option to go home!

I hope he comes through the surgery well and can get back to tending his yard soon. Prayers for him and for all of you; it must be very difficult to live far away and not be able to be there when you want to be.

Mel, I hope you MIL gets better, too. A stroke is such a hard thing because even though you know the answers to what people are asking, you can't make them come out of your brain and into the right words.

Not a good sign. The new guy (who started yesterday) hasn't shown up to work yet. It's 9:48, we start at 8. No phone call or anything. I couldn't have scared him away that quickly....could I???? I guess no new lacky for me.

Kathy, I hope is going better with your dad. Hopefully the doctors keep him there. Back in 2000, my mom convinced the doctor she was fine after her stroke (she's a nurse and told him what he wanted to hear). She ended up back in the hospital a day later. He kept her in there for a week after that Luckily she didn't have much in terms of residuals. I hope they are able to do the surgery sooner rather than later so he'll be on the road to recovery quicker to take care of your mom. Are you going to visit soon?
