I think that trivia would be fun! If we can keep people from chatting................

Great, now we are sailing with at least one known juvenile delinquent. Parents, fair warning, Jenny might give your kids some "advise" for the upcoming school year under the guise of "educational information gotten whilst cruising the Panama Canal".

:confused3 The one time I skipped class in high school I got caught by my dad :teeth: . It was the last day of school and I had study hall 10th period and Geometry 11th period (there were a total of 11 periods). I went to the park down the road from school and was hanging out there with Jamie (DH - we're HS sweethearts  ) and a friend...My dad drove by and yelled "Get back to class!" I told them that I just skipped study hall, but I really skipped Geometry too.

I'll finish in a minute...gotta log off the computer for a minute....

Hi all,

I am from the "practice" cruise (no offernse taken) and just wanted to say thank you or the Chadwick's link. I got all the items to work - woohoo!

Marsha, just wanted to say "Hi". We met at an Illuminations dessert party you arranged back in august of 2003. Unfortunately the rain kept us in Norway, but the best part was meeting other DISers.

It sounds like you all will have a blast on this cruise. Wwish I could afford to take both. Better yet, wish I could take the first, stay in CA all summer and then cruise home!

Janis
Hey there!!!! How are you? I'm with you, cruising to CA, spending all summer at DL and then cruising home, sounds like a plan.

Hope you have a great cruise, I know it is going to be a blast for all of you in May. And it is getting so close, I think I would be about sick with excitement if I was on that sailing.

Ok....I'm back....

I guess that's the whole story. My parents didn't believe that I would actually skip class, so the just assumed that I'd just skipped study hall. It was the last day of school anyway. The only thing we (they) did in class was return the books and go over what we learned that year.

The geometry teacher hated me. Jamie's locker was right outside the classroom and he would stand outside and pick on me (he didn't have a class 11th period). She HATED the fact that I didn't pay attention in class (I was usually either doing the homework or sleeping) and still got an A- in the class. I never studied for tests. I took geometry and Pre-Calculus at the same time. The pre-calc teacher LOVED me. I got the highest score in my class on the mid-term (AND I was in class with the girl who would end up being Valadictorian and the girl that would be Salutatorian of my class - this was sophomore year). Before anyone calls me a dork, it was an open book test and I only got a 96 on it :teeth: .

:earboy2: :sad:That wasn't very nice!

I got in school suspension in the 6th grade for giving a kid a white-wash (he was my cousin and saying some not-so-nice things about me).

Jenny - sincere grovelling apologies if I said anything to which you might take any form of offence, no matter how trivial, or whether said in the best of British tongue in cheek. I understand how sensitive you are and how easily you might be upset by my careless comments.

But if you really do want to beat me up, can we plan it well in advance - you know like some time when everyone else is at dinner / theatre / 8 hour bus tour, etc.

Allan :wave2: :teeth: :rolleyes1 :scared: :duck: :headache:

I think I would take AT LEAST one of the West Coast cruises, but I do like the idea of going on both and staying in CA in between.

SHAT???? whats that? LOL OH chat!

Ooops! I do stuff like that all the time. Gotta learn to proof read a little better.

I try to tell the guys I work with to proof read what they type to put on construction plans. I keep reading the notes and finding the same mistakes. Spell check doesn't pick up when you use an actual word, just the wrong one. Like they use "stripping" instead of "striping" (as in parking lot striping). I told then to stop. What will the contractors' think?? :rotfl2:

*Edited so I wasn't talking about the contractor's thing anymore... :rotfl2:

And just why are you discussing the contractors thing? Surely the poor man is entitled to a little privacy? :guilty:

It is fun, isn't it? :confused3 It's like I tell a couple of the guys I work with, "You have a kick me sign on your back, and you put it there yourself!" :rotfl:

I didn't realise the board would asterisk me here - John Major used the term for "children without legitimate parents" for the folk who said nasty things about him, or who did things behind his back
