Okay I talked to Janis today and was able to snag a ressie at the Holiday Inn San Pedro for Friday nite. She said our group has over half the hotel on that date!! There are 60 rooms total there. She also said there are only a few rooms left (not in her block, but the whole hotel!).

Regarding the whole tuxedo issue, can anyone recommend a good brand? I'm not really sure at this point if I'm going to wear one but am considering it. On previous cruises we've just went with suits but since we're probably going to have two formal nights and two semi-formal nights a tux may come in handy.

Perhaps a poll at the other site to determine how many of the men are planning on wearing a tux?!

Bill's wearing a tux. We got it at S&K. Got the shoes at Kohls. Total package (including shirt, two ties & cumberbunds, shoes, cuff links and suit) was $250.

Depending on price for 14 days, I'm considering doing the on board rental thing. Primarily because that's one less thing to pack and haul from Florida.

Martin will be wearing a tux onboard. (And I never even suggested it to him! ) He found a great deal before our March '04 cruise and decided to buy it. He figured that it cost less than his good suits, so he would just bring it along and not worry too much if anything happened to it. I was pretty shocked when I got home and he told me what he'd bought!

Now that he's booked on this 14-night cruise, he's really glad he bought it; it will have already paid for itself! He bought pleated shirts (with a regular collar), a vest, and a few different ties to go with it and used it for both formal and semi-formal night. (I think he looks terrific in it, too! )

A quick post to let everyone know that I'm doing ok. For those who didn't know, I had Lasik surgery this morning. Everything went great though the eyesignt isn't 100% yet.

I'm glad it went well for you. I had it done five years ago and it was nervewracking, even with the valium! I'm glad I did it, since I am significantly less dependent on glasses. I saw 20/15 shortly after the surgery, but am now just barely 20/20, and some of the astigmatism has returned, and so I need glasses towards the end of the day Can't do a "tune up" because of the risk of overcorrection, but am no longer blind!
