I will actually be going to the Loma Linda Travel Clinic tomorrow (Wed) - they only do travel vaccinations on Wednesday from 1:30pm to 4pm on a walk-in basis (no appts).MM2U2 said:Is anyone getting special immunizations for this cruise? My daughter goes to Loma Linda University Medical Center and they have a special travel clinic. Her doctor said we should get Hepatitis A for Mexico and possibly the Yellow Fever immunization for Curacao. They are also suggesting anti malaria medicine for the Canal zone. What is everyone else doing in regards to this? The CDC website vaguely mentions something about Yellow Fever for Curacao and its neighbor Aruba. Since we are only going to each site for a day do I really need these tropical vacinations?
When I consult with the physician I'll ask about his recommendations. I need the HepA for my cruise at the end of Feb (Carnival Elation to Mexico & Belize), I'm also going to ask about Malaria. I'll also ask about what will be needed in August for the repo cruise.
Typically you only need Malaria & Yellow Fever meds if you'll be leaving the urban areas (like going into the jungles). In Panama we won't even be leaving the ship, so that may not be an issue at all (I'll ask though). Curacao might be different, especially if you do any excursions that leave Willemstad (again, I'll ask).
