August 20, 2005 - L.A. to Port Canaveral - Eastbound Repo Cruise - The SHIP OF FOOLS Part 2

After crossing out the excursions that DD is too young for, and eliminating the snorkel tours, here are my choices for excursions:
CABO
Beach Break
Harbor Cruise & Scenic Drive
Coastal Highlights
Cabo Resort Pool Getaway
Land's End Coastal Cruise
ACAPULCO
Cliff Divers Show & Restaurant
Family Beach Break
Highlights Tour
Cultural Walking Tour
La Roqueta Island Getaway
Mexican Folkloric Show
Cici Water Park
El Mercado & Cliff Divers Experience
CURACAO
Discover Curacao Island Tour
Curacoa Day at the Beach
Highlights with Folkloric Show
Hato Caves & Landhouse Bloemhof
Ostrich Farm & Hato Caves Tour

I'm trying to compare and make choices. I really want to see the cliff divers, and would prefer to see them at night. If I plan a daytime excursion in Alcapulco, what are the odds that I can do the cliff divers on our own that night?

I have such a hard time narrowing down excursions because I want to see and do it all!

Renee contracted through us - just send $50 in non-Canadian-Tire-Money to JGE and we'll see that Renee gets reimbursed.

Yea, right. Like I'll see any of that money!

I don't think you would have much difficulty in arranging to see the cliff divers on your own, Darlene! In fact, this may be one of the easier things to organize for yourself without the assistance of Disney.

I have seen several websites that indicate there are some great viewing locations from various restaurants and observation decks. Most indicate that the cost is under $10.

My husband and I have been very very sad that it was looking like we had to cancel our May repositioning cruise due to factors beyond our control. This morning I was getting ready to call and "do the deed" when DH suggested that we see if we can transfer our reservation to another cruise so that we don't lose our rebooking credits from way back when. I looked on the DCL website and figured just for kicks I'd see if there was any availability on this repo cruise and there was a single category 9 room available. I called my TA and grabbed it quickly even though it will cost $2,300 more than the cat 11 we booked so long ago.

So I'm still kid of devistated over having to cancel the May cruise, but this is a real possibility. Do you guys have room for 2 more? I don't have time to read all 750 (!!!) pages of this thread. Is there a highlights version somewhere? I'm still shaking from making the switch, we have been SO sad about missing out on this cruise.

Welcome, from another resident of the Beautiful Hudson Valley!

Hi guys,

I went shopping today and found lanyard pins (clips). I bought them at Michaels which is a craft store. They were 2.99 for a pack of 45. After that I went on to Walmart and happened to take a peek and they have lanyard pins in a smaller quantity. 20 for .96. Anyway, I will bring them with me on the cruise if anyone needs them. I would be happy to share.

I had to give up my sideways cabin :( :( :( :( Does anyone have 6003 and want to trade? :) We had to 'upgrade' to a cat 9 because that was all that was available but I am going to be checking the DCL site daily to see if any more cat 11's pop up so I can downgrade as the difference is around $800. I would kill for my old cabin again but at this point I am grateful that we got a second chance.

I have no clue where those sideways pictures ended up but I will look for them! This may take some time, I took them a LONG time ago! As soon as I find them I will post.

I am the opposite. I had two cabins on reserve. One a cat. 9 and one a cat 11. I chose the 11 over the 9 for the 600.00 savings and now am running a little nervous over my decision. Have only been in an 11 once for a 4 day cruise. This time it will be for 14 days. I don't think I like the location of my 11 either. Someone here, and I won't name names stole my SPR. I really wanted 5520 or 5020. Can we bunk with any of you if our room is noisy??

Sandy - Can you post a pic or scan of the pins/clips? Thanx!

Okay, I've emailled hubby dear and asked him to provide the artwork without the gray background.

He's off "tech shopping" so lordy only knows when we'll hear from him again  (or if I'll be able to afford the cruise after he'd done shopping)

I'll keep y'all posted. :)

That chore will have to be my dear old hubby's. I am not a computer wizard. I will get him to do that tonight.

Thanx Sandy! That will be great!

I'm getting close!! I only have to read Pages 500-599 (01-02-05 to 01-24-05) and I will have "read the thread"!! It has been very interesting going back and seeing how different topics/issues/relationships developed. We are a wacky bunch, huh?!?

Hi all, just come back on line after having a computer crash (a real one this time, not like Allan's virus that ate his mouse!).

As Jenny is on line, perhaps she'd like this joke (its very old so you may have heard it).

Doctor talking to patient who is in hospital waking up from an operation: "Sir, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that we have had to amputate both your legs". "Good god" says the patient, "that is terrible. What is the good news". Doc says, "The man in the next bed wants to buy your slippers".

Here's today's useless information for y'all

Honda Motor Company has a bi-annual inventiveness contest for employees. In 1987, the winner was 6 day underwear - it had three leg holes, which enabled it to last for six days without washing - the wearer rotated it 120 degrees on each of the first three days, then turned it out and repeated the process.

And I thought that it was the tyres on Hondas that left the skid marks! :moped:

I've just gone back and checked up on the posts that I've missed. Are numbers are growing daily! Pretty soon it truly will be a Ship of Fools with nobody normal on it. Won't it be wonderful! Not just sailing with 500 of your friends, but sailing with 2,000! :grouphug: I wonder what Disney will make of all this. Do you think they know about our takeover? Would they try to discourage such a large group, do you think? :guilty:

What unusual natural phenomenon is capable of speaking in any language?

First right answer will win a star prize - PamPat and I will be bringing along a few of our much sought after Manx Knobs

:earseek:

So then, Big Cheeser, I guess I'm not allowed to answer as I am related in some way to the quizmaster! I love this communicating by the Dis boards when you are actually sitting three feet away from me!

And anyway, I prefer the Manx Flying Knobs.

(And before we get told off for lowering the tone, it's nothing rude!!!!)

Big Cheeser and PamPat, you two are very very sad individuals! :rotfl:

I rule and you know it :cheer2: :p

NOW GET OFFLINE AND GO TO SLEEP, Pam you are making drinks in the morning.

Love ya :love1:

Moi (the brat from the room next-door) xxx

OK ladies and Gents, if our artist removes the gray biox, I will update all items at the store! Hooray!!!!!

NO MORE CHANGES, we may be fools, but I think we know that it is not polite to intervene in the life of an artist.

Even closer neighbors than we thought, we are in Wappingers Falls! Howdy, neighbor! Where are you flying from? We are trying to decide which would be easier/less hassle at this point, Albany or NYC!
