We are looking at Town car companies to get us from the airport to the Hotel. There are so many to choose from. They all cost about the same. Has anyone made reservations with any of the Limo services out there?

I made ours through Karmel, the same company that is providing our bus. We arrive on the 16th in LAX, and for 5 of us in an exclusive use van it was about $85. You can get them at www.karmel.com

Hi, Jeanne:

As for the flights to Philadelphia on 9/3 -- for the first time in my life I actually jumped on a reservation 11 months out and got a great price. I booked our return flights on US Air back on November and got the one-way for $79/pp. And for the first time in all our cruises, was actually able to get a Noon flight instead of having to wait until 4 p.m. Of course, US Air has a notorious habit of changing your flight times around, so who knows. And let's hope they are still in operation by then!

We are flying from Philadelphia to Las Vegas for the first leg of our trip and haven't been so lucky with prices. US Air wants $192 one way. So we might just go with Southwest. I've heard them referred to as a cattle call -- but I'd rather pay $89 one way than $192.

Keep trying because the prices are always changing. Go to US Air and go under the link for Go Fares - that's their newest thing and they have sales every week.

Good luck,

Cathy

I have many frequent flyer miles with US Air and 2 R/T vouchers but I am a little leary to book with them...do you know what happens when or if they are no longer in service? I thought I heard somewhere that other airlines have to honor the ticket. Hmmmm....

Yes I am a bit of an organizer but the older I get the less organized I am, it could be the job too...can't be bothered in my real life when I have to deal with too much at work...oh well.

I think we are about set to go. We have a room to stay in while in Cali, transportation to the port and tickets to get to Cali.

This just puts me to shame. I don't have my HOJO room booked yet; I don't have my airline tickets yet; and I still owe on my cruise. I did manage to send the check to Bob though so the transportation to the port is all lined up!

Whooohoooo! :rotfl:

Note to self: Be on the lookout for two Vagabond's roaming around HoJo's in mid August looking for a place to stay!

Hey, I though I read way back when you were "new" here you were on the morning Song flight MCO to LAX on the 17th or 18th. Guess not!

Izzinmac, do they pick you up at the baggage claim or outside. Blonde here was raised deep in the woods. Venturing out into the "real" world first time.

I have to get a night job so I can stay up during the day to keep up with this thread!!! It takes too long at night to read. I sit in front of a computer most of the day and here I am at night now...will need new glasses by aug.

Love the mat!!! Now...skimming thru, is this also going to be for sale? Jeanne told me she ordered a bunch of stuff for me also but I have no idea what she ordered!! I guess I could call her.

Most of you are better off than me. I have room booked in CA, cruise booked...of course I may be eating by myself rather than my cabinmates since they have them booked early and me late. Oh well...meet more people that way I guess! No Airline arrangements yet.

OK, to help out, I created a store at Cafe Press. When the artwork is done, I will upload it to the store and y'all can have at it! The link is (if it works here) http://www.cafepress.com/mickeyfan Right now there is NOTHING in there. I have to get all the products (shirts mostly) added and the artwork. I am NOT making any money on this, it is just a simplifies way for us ALL to be able to use the great pin design. If I have stepped on amyones toes, let me know and I will close the store quickly.

ETA - if this is OK for everyone, but there is something missing (long sleeved shirts or whatever) let me know that too.

Thanks Marsha!

The powers that be at work haved decided to hire a "General Manager" and since Tuesday really have not had time to DIS at work! I quickly read something and meant to check back but with working longer, too tired!

Sorry to cause any confusion. I blame that on the Marlboro's that this guy smokes! YUCK!

Back to reading and catching up!

Hey, you said the HoJo beds were large, right? I'm sure two people could fit in-between you and Mary! Geesh! Do I have to arrange everything around here?!?!

I mentioned that flight but I never actually booked it yet. Even though it's a great price ($139) and a great time, I was hoping we could get cheaper. SW has flights for $99 from TPA to LAX but they haven't released August flights yet! :guilty: So, I know I should just go with Song and quit procrastinating. It's very unlike me to procrastinate about anything....

As I understand it, for security reasons at LAX (not sure about other LA area airports) they do not let Limos wait in front of the terminals. They are held in a waiting area away from the terminals. So you have to get your bags first, and get them curbside. You call the transport company to let them know you are ready to be picked up, and they dispatch your limo from the holding area to get you!

From Valdosta to LA is going to be a real cultural shock!!! You could always call Jethro and Ellie Mae to come pick you up! They should be familiar with the territory by now!

Mark if it is any easier I will pay you for shipping and handling If you have too lug 120 of these things for everyone it may be a problem. Plus I can see them getting bent and squashed.
Whatever is easier for you but don't mind paying for it.
Not to mention the fact I'm really worried if Sandra packs them. They'll probably be left with the shoes ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

You know it was actually Mark that did that!;)

But your artistic talent makes up for it!

Please Pretty Please add me to the list for 1 mat!

Thank You Kindly Sir!

I would also think it would be easier for you to mail out prior.

Please let me know cost!

Boy, I'll be spending my limit even before I get on Board!LOL

They do have some poolside cabanas for last minute planners. They are just to the left of the fence in Grumbo's picture. Downside...you have to bathe in the pool!

I received an email memo from the CEO of US Air saying that they were completing their reorganization and would be out of bankruptcy and supposedly set for the year. So I am not worried about my September 3rd tickets. Also, before that memo came out, I was told by US Air that should that happen, United would back up all ticketed customers and also other airlines would make arrangements if necessary for a $25 pp fee.

I think Bob was picked up by Mary at a bar actually. Can't recall him ever saying anything about baggage claim. ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Mark,

I would like to order 4 sets of mats. They are very nice-I also will pay the shipping to my house.

Susan-
Can I order 4 medallions?

Getting a night job wont help. LOL I have one and it still takes me forever to catch up on my off week. I can lurk while working, but cant post. So I have to do all my posting on the off time.

Question for you West Coast DL experts. Can you make advanced Priority Seating arrangements for Blue Bayou? If not, what is the best strategy for getting in. I know we want to do it at least once, probably early lunch.
