Denise, sign up for JetBlue e-mails. They usually run specials. I looked at last years prices and they were 99.00 to Ca. They will give you a credit for the difference and those credits can be combined and are transferable. I imagine with oil prices peaking at about 54.00 a barrel, we won't see those low low airfare prices again. I usually wait for the specials, but this time I chose to hedge my bet against prices going higher.

I also liked the non-stop feature. I'll be travelling with 3 kids and 2 women. (yeah, yeah, and they'll be travelling with me) and besides JetBlue offers a T.V. in front of each seat. The only problem is they're not serving food and it's a 6 hour flight. Remember to pack a snack of light meal.

Denise, I already guessed that the lack of Jazzman's posting is because he was already working extra to support his cruise habit!...Mark

I'm here... I'm here...

I've been busy getting ready for an upcoming trip to mainland China - Grumbo's got me off looking for some chea ...er ... top quality food and wine for the "Ship of Fools" presentation. So he gave me some money and sent me off.

He told me not to spend all $5 in the same place.

Jazzman and Grumbo

I find your new JGE Logo very appealing. However, if you check back many hundred of pages ago, you will find that it was I who first proposed the "Ship of Fools" theme. Up until now I have been very gracious in the usage of that theme. Maybe I should have mentioned that I also had the theme copyrighted, both in the US and Internationally. Because I had not previously mentioned that fact, my lawyer advised me that I should not be greedy at this point. He feels that 50% of the gross proceeds (not profits-he doubts there will be any) of JGE sales should be adequate compensation to me for the (mis)use of the "Ship of Fools" theme.

I feel we can resolve this matter amicably, and not shed any pall over the joy (and big bucks) this cruise should bring the three of us.

I patiently await your response.

Mark, Just lay low and give me a little support on this one, and I'll cut you a deal. These guys should be easy marks. Don't really have a lot going for them!

You realize you will be paid in CANADIAN TIRE MONEY!

Not worth the Paper .............

Never mind!LOL

Mr. Lane, thanks for your generous offer. Grumbo and I would be only too happy to allow you to participate in the financial well-being of the enterprise.

Specifically, we thank you for agreeing to help with the initial finanacing. Up to this point, our startup funding had been secured with liens on Grumbo's private yacht, business jet, and ski house in Val d'Isere. By agreeing to co-sign, you have allowed Grumbo to maintain control over these assets. Of course, in return for your support, we will be glad to grant you not only a sizeable percentage of any net operating profits, but also any unused mud from JGE's REAS package.

If you decide this compensation is excessive, feel free to split the residual profits, the mud, or both with Mark.

Jazz promise him anything you want. At his advanced age the chances he'll even remember this conversation, never mind the cruise are slim. Thats why Easter is so much at Bob's house. He hides all the eggs the night before then spends all day trying to find them with his grandchildren.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Well, we haven't booked our outgoing flight yet to Las Vegas, but we did just book our returning flight from Orlando. I figured that will fill up a lot faster than the outgoing one since not too many are flying to Las Vegas before the cruise. We got a great deal at U.S. Air -- Saturday departure at 11:45 a.m. at $73/pp. We opted for the earlier flight because we always end up having to book the 1:30 flight and never get home before 5 p.m. This is the first time we've been able to get in on the late morning flight.

I can't imagine we'd have a problem making that as long as we get right off the ship. We will probably be taking a town car service anyway rather than the bus.

So, got my reservation booked for the Anaheim site, got my DL tickets and extras from AAA, got my dates picked for the Luxor in Las Vegas, our one way rental with Budget is booked, and our return flight. All I need to do is book the flight out to LV. I have NEVER planned this far ahead for so many things before!

Are any of you guys have travel insurance for this trip???

We don't have it yet but i was doing the calculations and it would cost us $520!!!!!
that could be use as shopping and excursion money!!! My Dh doesn't want to get it either!!!
do you think we are taking a gamble on not getting a travel insurance??

We have never, ever in our lives canceled a trip.... knock on wood!!

Great question, Melinda! We don't currently have insurance, but I've been thinking about it following some of the whiney threads on the main cruise board about people wanting to be reimbursed even without insurance.

We always get CAA's "Vacation Protection" insurance before we travel, but that's mainly for medical coverage.

Question for my fellow Canadians - if I take Disney's Cruise Insurance, do I still need additional medical insurance from Canada (one that takes into account our provincial OHIP coverage?)

Since I'm not concerned about "pre-existing" conditions for us, I figure I have until final payment to make up my mind on Disney's coverage.

Arlene

Arlene I didn't bother taking it for myself, DW and DD. We have out of country health coverage from both our employers, plus if I book the flights and cruise on my CC I have cancellation coverage and interruption insurance there. Something to consider as its only 65 dollars a year and if you want the health I think its about 135 dollars per year for your family on a BMO Mastercard.
I DID however take it for my parents. All of the insurance you get is secondary in nature. It kicks in when you've used up your other coverage eg OHIP. It wasn't cheap but they were insistent about getting it and I purchased it from a U.S. company. They have cancellation and health insurance coverage.
I don't know how early you're going or staying afterwards but I'm not sure DCL's insurance will cover you for that time period. I'd check. I can give you the info if you're interested for your aunt and uncle too.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Thanks, Grumbo I never thought about the credit card coverage - we always use our Gold AmEx (collecting points) so I should check whether we have any kind of cancellation coverage through them. Since we pay over $100/year just to have the card, it should be covering SOMETHING!

Auntie and Uncle have the workplace pension benefits for out-of-country medical that they always use. They may want cancellation prior to the final payment, though. DH and I also have the work coverage, but since our plan requires paying everything upfront, we've always felt safer with CAA's package.

I know what you mean.

Just think this thread has been alive for just over 5 months. It's the most active thread on the Dis boards. We have over 4700 posts and 115,000 views and still have 10 more months to go!! After our cruise, when we finally get to all meet and spend 2 weeks together, we'll probably spend even more time
reminiscing about the cruise. This thread will likely break 1 million views and 50,000 posts.

You had them too !?!? Must be a "female" thing. You, Scratch and Sandy can get together and talk about the good old days when wearing open toe shoes was for looks not comfort!!...Mark
