Last night Howard was working at World of Disney at Disneyland talking to a guest about the Disney cruise. He found out that she was going to be on this cruise with us. Apparently she had made a comment about communicating with others on the internet. So I'm curious if it was anyone here? Let me know.

Hi,

Everytime I go into World of Disney, I always search the CM's to see if there is a "Howard" nametag, I remember you wrote awhile back that your husband worked there. Haven't spotted him. I was there last wednesday around 10:30am. I'm a CM and was signing in my family (and myself) into the parks. It was strange seeing the castle all wrapped up, but we still took our family photo infront of it. :p

So where's the pic????? I hope the DL has a great birthday party. I may get bit by the DL bug and go in 2 days early so as to visit DL/DCA. Not planning on it, but you never know!

Hope all the Floridians are safe and this get back to normal soo.

Still thinking about Sophie and the family daily.

Firstly hopefully everyone is OK,

Secondly if its OK with you guys a little light-hearted 'in joke', against all of these difficult times.

With Castaway cay being damaged, if its not repaired in time, the West 14 day PC cruise most likely will have an extra stop at Nassau or key west on the way out.

The August East 14 day cruisers, will have a longer stop at Curacao, overnight and will depart at 7.00am!

We can then all enjoy another sea day!

Couldn't resist it, but I know DCL are working very hard in difficult circumstances!

He almost always works in the collectables room, and generally works nights (at least for now, since our daughter just started kindergarten he may be working while she's in school (he used to stay home with her))

Funny thing is my grandfather passed away last weekend, and my cousins from out of town had come out here before that and stayed till yesterday. Howard signed 3 of them in on Wednesday morning.

Here's hoping everyone is okay. Now they can start the cleanup.
As for the hurricane season. Since this year has been so terrible next year will be fine. And that means we won't have to spend any extra time visiting Curacao. Of course if there is a hurricane we might get to go somewhere else. Any takers for Burmuda? Hey gotta think big!
Thoughts and prayers still going for Sophie and for all those impacted by both Charlie and Frances. Ivan should go visit the Burmuda Triangle.

Great idea Estelle! I hope he is listening. Ivan the Terrible can just go vacation there.

Bermuda sounds good to me!!
Let's just hope that Ivan stays away from Florida and stays out on sea...Those poor Floridians don't need any more of this!!

Ok,
Anyone made ressies for any hotels before the cruise?? Looks like i am staying at the Marriott Residence Inn Garden Grove for a week. Got a 2 Br/2 Ba suite, only 1 mile from DL. Got a good AAA rate/Marriott rewards too!!
Can't get in the Newport Beach Villas yet, it is too early...Have to wait for someone to exchange the week, but in the meantime staying at the RI as a backup...
Just waiting now for the approiate time to look at airlines fares and the car rentals..

Actually it's funny you asked. I just emailed someone from VRBO about a cottage in Rondono Beach. 1100 for the week? I'm so used to the Orlando rates I get (cheap!)

I haven't decided. I really don't want to stay at a hotel for a week before the cruise though. We are still deciding how long to go BEFORE the cruise.

We are figuring (feel free to comment/suggest other things)
- one day to fly/arrive
- one day at DL
- one day at CA
- one day at beach
- one day at San Diego Zoo
- one day at Universal Studios
- one day (me me me) to shop

Brent thinks Universal Studios Hollywood isn't necessary, along with California Adventure. I think we should have a full week. Hmmm decisions decisions.

Sounds good to me...busy vacation though!! US is different than CA...are you planning on shopping at RODEO DRIVE???? brings lots of $$$$$$!!

We are planning to spend the day in San Diego...Plan to go DL 2 days...My DS7 wants to go Legoland...My DH wants to go Ronald Reagan Library and Richard Nixon Library....my parents wants to cruise up and down the coast since they have never seen Ca. There are only so much to do in a week!! But i guess we can run around the state of California and then poop out on the cruise!!::yes::

Update on Sophie9/06/04

Hello and God bless to all our DIS family,

Sorry I didn't write last night but we got back from the Hospital late.

Iwant to let all know that the everyone in the affected by Hurricane Frances is in our prayers, and we are praying that Ivan does not touch you.

Sophie just looked tired yesterday and since it was Sunday it truly was her day of rest. Still no changes to report, but we continue to pray.

Again we want to thank everyone of our DIS Family for the love, support and prayers, Sophie needs them, we need them, all those that suffer for one reason or another need them too.

God Bless You All.

Mike

Geez so good to be back from holidays!!!
Yeah OK maybe not ;)

I've skimmed through alot of the posts and was wondering what is actually going on with the ports of calls now? I can't access that on the DCL page as it is full and so I couldn't find the itinerary. Probably doing it wrong....

However where are we docking, what times etc....

Cheers,
Grumbo

You have to think now what a wise decision DCL made moving the Magic to CL for next summer, after the bad weather in the Carribean this year.

I bet now its odds on they will extend the Summer of 2006 to CL as well and not bring the Magic back to mid or late September that time.

It will save them a lot of work.

Next thoughts, move the Wonder as well, as other cruise line send all of their ships out of the carribean at this time, and some to Alaska.

Are you talking about our cruise? It's posted on threecircles' site, and looks current.

update on Sophie 9/7/04
God Bless and Greetings to all or DIS Family,

I was watching the news and reading the posts right before I wrote this and saw the line of people in FL that needed water and my heart went out to them. They are all in our prayers.

Sophie's self initiated breaths are up but we still need to evaluate the effectiveness of those breaths.

I did want to share a very special message that my Son-in-Law shared with me last night. When Lynda and I get home from the Hospital I send David a text message to let him know we made it OK. Last night he responded back with these words, " I look at her(Sophie) and I know that Amanda died for her and so will I. I will not remove life support from her unless there is no activity" . This came from him after Lynda and I had prayed with Sophie for God to please guide David in his decisions with Sophie and to give her every opportunity to live. God does answer prayer!

Please contiue to pray for all who need it and keep Sophie in your prayers

God Bless You All

What was Derek going on about in reference to Curacao? I thought there was some mention of a change or something. Like I say I skimmed as there were too many pages to read in depth.

Cheers,

Jan, thank you for the update on Sophie. I think about her often and hope she is able to benefit from the strength and love from those around her.

Sad to report that we had to cancel our PC cruise today..as I posted several weeks ago, DH lost his job after 33 years at the company...the company closed (Techneglas) suddenly and we counted on a severance (he would have gotten $22000 due to his longevity) plus his vacation pay for working 8 months this year...last week the company declared bankruptcy so there goes the severance, the vacation pay and the company is saying that they have grossly underfunded the pension fund so right now, his pension is questionable (at least what he had planned on receiving)--the pension fund is being taken over by the federal government (PBGC) so we will get something but we are not counting on much. The stress of losing his job has taken its toll on DH...he was experiencing shortness of breath..had to go for a stress test and CT Scan of lung and all seem to be ok. I just didn't need the added stress of worrying how I was going to pay for this cruise on my salary so I thought it better to cancel. It is very hard to stay upbeat but then I think of Linda and Mike and can't even imagine their loss and it helps me to stay focused. Also, my thoughts and prayers to all the Florida residents...Bob and gassmandy...hope you are doing ok.
