August 20, 2005 - L.A. to Port Canaveral - Eastbound Repo Cruise - The SHIP OF FOOLS Part 2

As I will have to come in the night before, I am at the one year mark!!!!!!!

I believe that my husband, the NON cruiser, stayed at the Holiday Inn where some of us will be staying. He was actually going on a cruise, with out me! Tee Hee, he was taken to the Port and go on the RCCL Nordic Prince, from LA they sailed to San Diego, where he and a about 2 thousand wokers stayed onboard in Dry Dock, refurbishing the entire ship. He redid all the floors in the Windjammer Cafe. After that he was even more down on cruising, he got to see all the "behind the scenes" stuff.

Sorry for going off topic. I think that anywhere people stay the night before will be party central. THere are so many of us going, we will fill a lot of rooms.

Guess I best start my packing list, eh?

Wow, one year from tonight and we'll all be jumpin' up & down with ants in our pants ... some of us will be partying in Anaheim, and some of us at the Holiday Inn San Pedro.

Speaking of the HI, we officially have 31 of the 60 rooms booked for our group. Janis (TA) will be submitting the list of rooms/names tomorrow (08/20), if you want in & haven't reserved a room through Janis yet, you still have a little bit of time to do so. You can email her at jltraveldreams@cs.com and put something like "HOLIDAY INN SAN PEDRO RESSIE" in the subject line.

The hats have arrived .. I will be presenting them to AuntyBrat (Laura) this weekend. She's already seen the pictures (forgot she lurks here ) and she was excited about the hats.

We'll be sure to take pics of her in the various hats and post 'em here....

As for an update, she had her 2nd round of chemo on Aug 2, and felt horrid for about a week and a half after that. It wasn't as long or as intense as after the first round of chemo, so that's a plus. Saw her this past Saturday and Monday .. she's in great spirits, but still tuckers out pretty quickly. We're tentatively planning a "sane" day trip to DLR for this Sunday if she still feels up to it (will have to rent her an ECV though) .. she mostly wants to go to a pin trading night .. her 3rd round of chemo is next Monday (08/23) so we anticipate she'll be under the weather again until the 1st of Sept or so....

Ok, as most of you know, I have been really sick for the past couple of months. I finally felt better and got back on the boards to try and catch-up on the cruise stuff (HAHAHAHA like that will ever happen!). Well, I will admit I came across the picture of the hats and after some back tracking I figured out what they were for. I started to cry. It is so cool and sweet and awesome of everyone....I can't begin to tell you how good it made me feel. It actually changed my whole attitude. I am now counting down to the cruise with my chemo and radiation, instead of just counting days to my next treatment. It has got me back focused on the positive instead of the negative. So, today I am officially 1 year from starting my cruise (HI in San Pedro) and when I have my chemo on Monday it will be 361 days until my cruise.

We may be the Ship of Fools, but I KNOW that we have some of the best, most lovely and loveable fools anywhere in the world.

Thanks too all of you from the bottom of my heart!!!!

Glad you are back on the boards! Chemo sucks but you need it to get better. Think of it that way. Let us know how many days until the cruise from the date of your last treatment. That will be a good day to really celebrate.
