Jeanne - if you could change something on our info I would appreciate it. DD's friend is not going now so my dad is joining us instead. His name is Chuck, he is 67 and he is in our cabin 11002.

Thanks so much!

:welcome: Welcome Aboard Kim! Another mid-westerner!! We are from Cedar Falls, IA and Deb in IA is from Iowa City.

Thank you for the welcome!!

I had never heard of this board prior to a few days ago!

Better late than never!

Thanks! I have a Singer Futura which I kind of hate! But it does the job. It just likes to pretend the thread breaks every 5 seconds even though it doesn't so I have to constantly babysit it and restart it. :headache: My friends with Brother machines really like theirs.

I have an old Bernia (it was a gift) but they don't do Disney designs. I guess that's a blessing in disguise. :lmao: There would be three circle designs everywhere. We already have a powder room with hidden Mickey's.

If you would like to add/delete/change/fix anything just post and I'll try to keep it updated. I'm sure I missed all kinds of information! Just shout out if I missed you.

Can't get rid of this duplicated post. Just ignore. Sorry.

:cheer2: welcome to all new "shipmates" and ahoi from the swissfamily.

We arrived in paradise. This is our 3rd time in Captiva and we just love it here. The resort is great, the pools are great fun, the wonderful white sandy beaches are from another world and shelling - especially for me - is worth more thant 100 yoga lessons. I always tell my husband - when crossing the bridge from Ft Meyrs to Sanibel - this is like coming home. When checking in they appologized for not having the room we requested with 2 Queen beds, but they would offer a nice corner room with a sleeper bed. Well, I did not want to complain ahead, said ok and when we went to the room we just were amazed, they upgraded us into a nice suite, overlooking the sea, much bigger thant the room we reserved and this morning we saw dolphins from the balcony and tonight a stingray. Pelicans and other birds for which I do not know the english names and this morning I was awaken by a beautiful sunrise. Normally we had breakfast outsides, but this year, it is just too hot and sticky, already at 8am in the morning, we still are early risers due to time difference.

Tomorrow we will do a tour with the sanibel thriller, and hope to see lots of dolphins. So, this is it for the moment, I hope you are doing fine, get ready to rumble, soon you all will be heading south aswell.

Greetings from Captiva

Andrea - sounds like you guys are having a great time. An upgrade is always nice and it sounds like you have a great room. Enjoy your time at the beach and we can't wait to see everyone!

:cheer2:...at 8am in the morning, we still are early risers due to time difference.

I'm glad you're having fun. I was wondering how you were doing with the time difference. By the time we're ready to board the ship, you'll be on Eastern time. How's your daughter doing?

Well we received an email from our limo service saying we couldn't get into the Port prior to 11 and wanted to pick up us later.

We did the on-line check in and have a 10:30 to 11 time. We called our travel agent to try and find out more and will let you know if we hear anything. At this point we are still planning on arriving by 11. Next week Scooter and our families are at WDW so maybe we can get to talk to someone live and get more updates (assuming he doesn't decide to go back to the beach for the 8th time since schools been out)

Hey DVC4US,

Saw your post on the other discussion topic of arrival time we can both do some "live" post for everyone. Seems you had a fun encounter with a rep on the phone!

Doug - I was wondering if the limo companies would be making changes. We had a limo booked for part of our group too but when DCL decided to make these changes and could not tell me exactly what would happen on the 2nd we decided to change to a rental car. This way we can control what time we arrive at the port.

If you guys do get any different information while at WDW please let us know. I saw you posted on the port arrival thread so I am sure you saw my post about the frustrating call with GS yesterday.

If anyone else wants to read the post here is the link:

I am heading to the beach. A nice one in the Bahamas. I will be the one with the nice tan sitting with the guy with the blinding white :lmao:arms.

I guess we all need to wear pirate costumes and take over the port. Of course if jack sparrow shows up my dw hope and dougs dw Lisa will be worthless and I will have to get some tissues to wipe up the slobber.

Oh great doug is going to talk to someone live. Every time he does that he gets another set of gold mickey ears. Gift cards free night this time they will probably give him the keys to the ship. Lol I guess I will be walking the plank for giving him grief about that lol. Ok gotta run more honey do list to get done.

We were posting at the same time.:thumbsup2

Yeah, I am going to set-up a separate thread for "live" updates and it would be great if others on our cruise would post their experience.

Well, I am off for my 3 hour drive to Minneapolis to pick Alyssa up this afternoon. I'm going a little early so I can stroll around Mall of America before going to the airport.:goodvibes

Camp is over and she is at MCO waiting for her flight. She had a blast and really enjoyed the week. I will try to post some pics if she got any good ones.

Everyone have a great Saturday!

We have an online port arrival time of 10:30-11:00 as well. I don't think that I am even going to attempt entry until 11. Also, this is the first time we have had to park, as all the times in the past had been dropped off, since we lived right near the port. So, we are trying out the Park and Cruise (www.parkcruise.com) this time. I got an online booking of 4.99 a day with gated parking and free shuttle to the port. There lot is on Merritt Island just across the Banana river bridge.

I do really miss the proximity to the port that we used to have! We will be leaving to head down on the 29th, driving straight thru to Tampa first:eek: I can already hear from the passenger and back seats.. Are we there yet?

We'll be on the West coast till Tuesday morning, so see you all soon!

It sounds lovely! :cloud9:

9 Days!!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm loving the daily countdown!

I guess I can comment from the "DCL bus from resort to port" perspective if I can figure out DH's phone. I'm wondering if we will have an even later than usual pick up time. I'm scared of mobs of angry people. :scared1: I personally for once am in no rush and will just go with the flow. Now watch something will happen to make me mad :headache::lmao:
