August 2, 2011 disney dream

We must be very close to you, 08066 here just off exit 18 of 295. Always great when you can cruise with extented family.

We are arriving July 28th so the countdown for us is 448 days my GS says it's too far out to think about, but I'm the crazy one and have been counting down for a while now.

Family cruises are what I live for :cloud9::love:

08060 is off exit 45 of 295. I use to work in that area. I am now retired and live in 08081.

I am not sure when we will be arriving. I am thinking of perhaps spending a couple of days in Dsney World before or after the cruise. Decisions! Decisions!

Booking on this cruise in a few weeks using DVC points. I'll be celebrating my 30th Birthday (no better way to do so than a Disney Cruise if you ask me!!) with a few of my closest friends (mainly all one family). It'll be me... the mom, the dad, the son, the DIL, the daughter, the SIL, and another couple. All of us are Disney nuts, good friends, and a great time. I'll be the one single, solo girl, amongst all the married couples, but who the heck cares! I'll be on the Dream!! Woo hoo! :cheer2:

Can we join your party??

We just booked yesterday for this cruise!!
We are DVC members too, and used points for this cruise.

DS saw the DVC flyer, with the picture of the AquaDuck, and immediately wanted to go!

This is our 5th Disney cruise. We have previously done the 3-Night Bahamas, the 4-Night Bahamas, the Eastern Carribean and the Western Carribean.

When we heard that Disney was adding 2 more ships, we KNEW we had to go again, and I am so excited about being on the new Disney Dream!! And we really love the idea of the double dip at Castaway Cay!

We are in Stateroom 9156, a Cat 8B. We are not really verandah fans, so this is great for us!

joksten2000, our son will also be 16, so maybe he can get together with your GS. DS is into computers, video games, iPod, etc. He's not a huge sports fan, but he is small and wiry, and does Tae Kwon Do and runs cross country.

Oh, we are:

Me: will be 51 (!)
DH: 54
DD: 20
DS: 16

I will have to investigate possibly booking another cruise while onboard. Do you know if we can do that with DVC points, or does it have to be cash?

Been very busy the last month and a half. We had a big back porch with Florida windows and decided to finally close it in and make a room out of it. Very trying time as we lived on the back porch, plus we are baby sitting our newest grandson till September, we're worn out.

When the cruise is over you can call member services and re book another cruise with points, can't do it on board. I usually call them and say I want to rebook but don't know exactly when and they make a notation in my file so I can call back anytime and book a cruise and get a discount.

Deb in IA if you email me your son's email address I will pass it on to Kyle, I think it would be good for both of them Kyle is kind of shy and a bit of a loner till somebody forces him to do something then he's fine (joksten@comcast.net) Anybody else that has a teenager that wants to get in touch maybe the kids can set up a blog

Booked this about 3 weeks ago, but was too busy to sign in. We were at WDW from June 26 - 7/3. Had a blast. This will be our year (2010/2011) of WDW. Prior to our latest trip, it has been 3 years since WDW. Then a year (2011/1012) of Disney Cruises.

We have 2 more times at the World, November and next Spring Break. The kids get to take friends at Spring Break. I love being a DVC member (SSR), it makes so much possible that we otherwise couldn't afford. (Annual Passes help too).

Then this cruise, and if I have my way, a cruise at Spring Break and one in the middle of summer. Gotta get the last vacations in with the whole family. DS is going to turn 17 the day before this cruise. So, he only has a year left to get into the teen club. After that, college and don't know what his availablility will be, -- hoping he has a job when not in school.

Deb in IA, my kids did Tae Kwon Do as well. Son made it almost to 3rd degree before he decided that football, basketball, golf, and bowling were more important. DD made it to brown belt. I loved it. I think they learned alot, and hope it helps them in the future.

DD will be 10 for this cruise and turn 11 right after we get back. We have a while with her for more.

OHHHH: Cast of characters: Me (DH); DW; DD(10 at time of cruise); DS(17 at time of cruise). Look forward to more communications and seeing you all at embarkation!:cool1:

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. We were out of town for a while. DS went to choir camp in St. Louis, and we all went on Sunday to hear them sing at the Cathedral Basilica.

Sounds like there will be 2 16 year olds, and a newly turned 17 year old! That would be fun if they all got together.

Joksten, our son sounds a lot like Kyle - he's a bit on the quieter side, but once he gets to know someone, he's fine.

Figment Fan, we really like TKD too, and he was really into it for a while, but then he started running cross country in school, and that, plus his other activities (he also does a lot of music, and has a good voice), left him with no time to continue it. I think he's a red belt?

DS says that he doesn't really check his e-mail much, but that he is on Facebook a lot. Is Kyle on Facebook? How about your son, Figment Fan?

I will PM/e-mail you with DS's name on Facebook, and they can look for a friend request from him.

My son John is on Facebook. As a matter of fact, he has contacts with many of the kids he met on previous cruises. I'll PM you with his full name so that your son can search him up. Other than football and summer theater (currently) have to work to keep him off Xbox. He connects into the internet and groups of his friends and him work on campaigns together. They have headsets and talk. It took away my ability to kick him off before where I would use the excuse that he needed to go out and talk to real people not computer generated ones. Now, I just go with the get off "because I told you to" reason.

Cool on the ability to sing. I used to really enjoy doing theater. Singing, NOT my thing. (Mostly I don't sing for the benefit of other peoples hearing) Acting, comedy, drama, lots of fun.

Was just on another thread discussing the snacks at the Cove. Oh, I can hardly wait. Now, if I could just lose a few pounds so that gaining on the cruise won't be such a bad thing.

Hello All!

Just moved a cruise from 7/19 to 8/2! We booked over a year ago, but my daughter just came back from Girl Scout Camp announcing that next year it would be 'so cool' to be an aide there. Of course the camp runs the same week we were planning to cruise. So I called and moved the cruise to this one. Had to pay some more $$ because the rates have changed (which I don't think is fair :headache:) even though I'm getting the exact same cabin! Anyhow, I should be happy because I'm still cruising right? :confused3

Here our details:

at the time of the cruise our family ages will be

me 50, dh 51, dd 15, ds 14
We are in cabin 5678

Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Sorry everybody, we had to switch to the 7/10 cruise due to conflicts with schedules. Have a great time everybody. See you next cruise.
Take Care

Hey everyone - haven't checked in for a while so happy to see we are growing! My DGD16 will be in heaven with all these boys! LOL I'm wondering if she may want to check in on Facebook also. I'll ask her the next time we chat and see if she is interested.

In the meantime, I'm a serious digi-scrapper and did this layout of her with a recent picture. She's a cheerleader, straight A student, loves science and (right now) wants to be a pharmacist. She is also very creative, a gentle soul. Oh and she's 5'8"!!

Hey kathleena,

I was reading your signature on fairies being friends and it reminded me that according to Disney lore/legend (via Kingdom Keepers) Malificent is a fairie. I guess not all are "friends".

Take Care,
Have a GREAT cruise.

The tag fairy gave that to me many years ago. I don't know if she is still around but you would have to take it up with her!

Kinda quiet on this thread, that's okay we still have a bit of time to go. Just booked a week ahead of the cruise at Saratoga Springs. Haven't been to the world in about 3 years. On our cruise last summer (2009) we did a 7 day Eastern, then a few days at Vero Beach and just did one day at Typhoon Lagoon then came home. Still fun but I missed Epcot. I'll get my Disney fix in a few months at the "Land" in January. Just my and DH. No kids. Get to do the things I want to do this time!

Been a while since we've posted 326 How the days fly. Yesterday was our last day to babysit. It was a real job but I'd do it again in a minute. Really have a special bond with my grandsons.

We are tless than two weeks out from our Hawaii cruise. Seems like forever since we were on our last cruise. When we get back we'll be under 300 days it's hard to believe as we started at 600+

Hi everyone - as of right now we have a group of 14 friends and family cruising. Our cast of characters include:

Me, DH, DD 13, DS 9
Sister, DH
Friends with DD 17, DS 15
Friends with DD 13, DS 10

We are all so looking forward to the Dream!!

See ya real soon (but not soon enough)

Robin

Just got home from Hawaii, what a looooong plane ride, hopefully that ride will fade quickly from out memories.

What beautiful place to visit. The highlight of the cruise was our visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Amazing place to visit.

Welcome aboard CruisinPT and friends. Under 300 days!!!!

Just got home from a trip to the World and have started thinking about our next trip in Jan. and our cruise on the Dream. We are taking my grandson (8) for his first trip to WDW. :cool1: We are going to stay at Wilderness Lodge. We also reserved 4 nights before the cruise at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We may try to see if we can get in one of the Epcot resorts when our 7 month window opens. Can't wait to hear more about the Magic. Our anniversary is Aug. 5th so I hope to book Palo for that night. I am not sure about the other restaraunt (Remy?). It doesn't sound like something my DH would enjoy. :confused3

I'm not to keen on from what has been released about Remy. I have loved all my (2) meals at Palo. Great service, wonderful food a special night. The first time was for our 25th Anniversary - I was a bit nervious because we were letting the kids (then 12 and 11) on their own for the evening. They went helped themselves to dinner on deck, then went to the variety show, had a great time and then up to play basketball and watch the on-deck movie on our last night. We had a plan that whenever they left an area they had to leave a message on the cabin's voice mail. So I excused myself a couple of times to check the messages. The wait staff was very attentive and didn't make me seem silly.

Remy's looks interesting, but I'd think I'd be hard pressed to find something on the menu. On Palo's menu I find too much I want and the best part is that they'll bring it all!
