August 19, 2007 Disney Wonder

Well , my family is officially at 19 days. Since I now have all the vacation and cruise documents, it feels like I had better get moving and stay focused
Jen

I am sooo jealous!!! We have 26 days to go until WDW. We have always stored our luggage in the closet (we don't hang much) so I can't help you there. I usually press our clothes myself in the laundry room...they have ironing board etc. I would call DCL and ask them. The should know. Otherwise, I would ask on the cruise line thread if you don't get an answer here. Happy packing!!!

If you know what gifts you are putting in the FE's, would you mind PM'ing me so that when people ask about duplications, I can tell them. I won't let your secrets out ;) I have 9 out of the 14 already....

14? I thought there were over 20 kids? Have i been shopping in vain?
Has anyone else got cruise documents...the OCD monster in me is starting to panic about having everything in time. We leave for Florida in 16 days...when should i email DCL in a panic???:scared1:

Jen
I read in a thread on the main cruise page about mailing a box to the cruise line warehouse so that it will get delivered to your stateroom. You could do that with items you don't plan on bringing back (FE gifts & cheap hangers). It would decrease your luggage size.
I will probably do a load of laundry before I leave WDW so I can pack less. :laundy: My mother has sent her items off to be pressed soon after she boarded her last cruise (wasn't DCL so I don't know prices).:confused3

A great big thanks for all the support in offering to help out with extra wristbands or splitting the costs.

I went ahead and ordered Disney Wonder August 2007. I figured it would be less explaining to people in our home towns if worn there.

Dana...thanks for getting the braclets. Let us know how much we owe you. We'll help you out too.

We got our documents today!!

And I broken down and got my FE from Ebay. It arrives yesterday.

Moving quickly forward......

I need a link on ebay for fish extenders. I went to target today and they didn't have anything close to what I was looking for. The link a few pages back says that the bidding is closed and my searches have come up empty:confused3

I too received my docs today. As soon as I can order a FE I would like to add my girls to the list.

Thanks,

Joe

Dizzyworld - Thanks for posting all the prices for dry cleaning/pressing. I don't think the prices are all that bad. I might let them do my good dress but press the rest on my own - it will only be a few things.

Dana - I thought about sending some things down in a box but I doubt we will. I know that we will over pack! I am planning on doing laundry but it still seems like I have way too much on the list. Every year I say that I will bring less and I never do.

To everyone getting their cruise documents...how fun! It made us all jump up and down!:yay:

We are getting packages daily right now it seems. I ordered a new battery for DD's camera, a new cable for mine, a pirate costume for DS, and a few other things. I think I have most of it now. Usually we just get bills so all this fun stuff has been a nice change! :rotfl:

Question about pirate party...we will be doing the Pirate and Princess party at WDW the night before we sail. DD is wearing a cute tinkerbell costume while the rest of us will be pirates. The question is, will she be totally out of place in a tink costume on the ship instead of a pirate costume? She will not have the wings, just a green tink dress.

Check back every few days about the FE on Ebay. I missed out on one and the only think left was the same thing from another seller at $12. The next day another one came back from the first seller. Yet it could be that person sold out. I think she only had three. You could always just use a little bag of some sort. Join the fun, it will work out somehow.

Thanks Shirley for the offer to help out with the extra wristbands. With the other people ordering extra, there are about 25 unspoken for. I spoke with the company this afternoon. The salesperson said (enthusiastically) "no problem" in getting it to me prior to sail date. Which of course I told them was the 12th. ;)

Thanks Dana for your help. Please add my three girls to the list. Natalia (15), Jenei pronounced "jenay" (11) and Deyshia (7) pronounced "deja."

I also need to know how many children to get gifts for. I don't think philly cheesesteaks will fit in those FE's :rotfl2:

Glad to hear your in on the FE gifting!!! Please PM me your room number so that I can add it to the list to be PM'd to everyone participating. If you can, let me know in a PM what you might be gifting so that we don't over-duplicate. Thanks!!! Those cheesesteaks might be a little sloppy in the luggage too!!!

Anyone read the new Harry Potter yet? Like i havent got enough to do at the moment!

My DD has been reading it since we bought it this morning. I would say she is about half way through.

OK, so I'm clarifying. I'm just making sure I'm covered on the FE gifts and meet exchange. I'd hate to get it wrong! Here is my understanding:

FE gifts are for kids--adult gifts optional. Right now we have 29 kids signed up. Each kid gets a separate item (if it was rubber balls and there were 3 kids in the room, 3 rubber balls would go in the FE).

Meet exchange is where we will meet at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge (I think I have my location right, but I will double-check). Kids will bring something as an exchange with the other kids. Magnets/postcards/small stuff that somehow represents their hometown. So if my hometown was, say, Paris, I might bring some Eiffel Tower key chains.

How'm I doing so far?
