August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

We'll be the ones who never take the dressing up clothes off - the one who everyone is wondering 'does that child actually have any clothes':rotfl::rotfl:

I agree - the dry cleaning looks like a much better option than doing it at home! I couldn't spot a price for just washing ordinary dresses - not drycleaning them - am keeping my fingers crossed they'll be able to do it. Ketchup and ice cream, means there's no chance we'll get more than one night out of Elizabeth's dresses, and even with the dressing up clothes - I'll be struggling to have enough for the whole time.

Well, I just have say how glad I am that I am participating in the FE!!!:cool1:
I've been having an absolute blast trying to pick items that are Canadian, age appropriate and useful....I even found something for the 8 guys......

Now all I need to do is order the FE to put outside my door......:rotfl::rotfl:

Can't believe the trip is getting so close......

Our FE's are officially ordered, everyones getting the same thing. We took heed of all requests, and think we came up with something fun, and useful... See everyone soon!!!

Dan bought the type that attaches to a belt and can be flipped on the inside of your pants. Good for guys...so-so for women. I know I do not wear a belt, but they are probably the safest way to store money,cc's and copies of passports.

Thanks for the link, I checked it out as well as a comparable Pacsafe product. My husband is a very heavy sweater though so not sure if this will work for us. I don't wear a belt. Does the material look like it will withstand heavy sweat?

Thanks,
Shawn

DH got one as well. They're pretty lightweight (silk, I think) and would probably dry well if rinsed out overnight. No neck pouch for me; I'll either have the sling bag for the camera or my purse slung over the front of my chest. To get either of those off me they'd have to injure me pretty badly.
A tip a coworker gave me: if you have any zippers not well secured, use twist ties from the produce department to discourage theft.

Great item for Pirate Party:

For cruisers from North America - I saw glow in the dark swords (the ones you have to shake before use) at Michaels. It comes in pink or blue. It only costs a few dollars and is perfect for the pirate party. pirate:

Dh is a really heavy sweater as well...yea it does looks really durable, I think it is silk and looks like it will dry quickly. We haven't tested it, but I am pretty sure it will work. Plus it is pretty cheap so that was a plus lol!

All of my FE goodies came as well! We are on a roll wooohoo....

So a few weeks ago, I read on the main board that someone on one of the med cruise bought the Rick Steves small books for Barcelona and Cinque Terre.

and

The poster de-spined the books, got rid of what wasn't applicable (i.e. Cadiques or Portovenere if not going there), then got them spiral bound together at an office supply store. Soooooo.....I got that done today! It's going to be very handy, I think! The book is now about 4x8x1/2 inches, so ver manageable in size!

There seem to be a lot more of us doing 5T now, so I thought this might be of use!

I was actually able to print out some magnets! I got magnet paper today while I was getting my book bound, but had no confidence that the P.O.C. printer I have was actually going to work. It refused to print on photo paper 2 days ago.

I'm getting so excited!!!!!:banana::banana:

DH is bringing his ipad. He says that any info we need ie language dictionaries, maps etc, we can get on there.

Off to an Alice Tea Party here at our local garden centre and keeping my fingers crossed that they don't cancel because of the rain. Kate if you're around it's at the Avant Garden Centre in Leyland and starts at 1.00. Thought it might get us in the mood for the cruise :)

Would have loved to come, only 20 mins (if that), from me (I do agility near there, with my dog!).

Unfortunately, I work today :sad1:

You must do Alices Tea Party on the Magic, it is fantastic, we had such a lovely time, it only lasts about half an hour, but was very amusing and cute! :cutie:

We'll have our iPhone. We're getting an international data plan so we can access info like maps and translators off the ship!

We won't have a phone. DH's company was going to pay for the int'l plan on his blackberry and then his boss decided that they shouldn't bother him on vacation...so they won't.

OMG...I keep looking at how many days until we leave and I can't believe it's almost here. DD and DS are going for an overnight today at a sleep away camp...going to be very wierd not having to run tonight to pick anyone up.....

Just finished week 6 day 2 of C25K today. 10 min run, 3 min walk, then 10 min run.... Big day Fri it becomes all running for know on....

Yeah, we didn't know if they were going to give Darren an international plan on his blackberry. So we decided it was worth it to pay for an international plan for the month of August. It's only $60, which is worth it to ensure we'll have access to maps and translating apps for touring in Paris.
