August 18, 2010...Can't wait for the MAGICal Mediterranean!!!

I have saved mine as a pdf...everyone should do that so there is no formatting problems.

To save a s a PDF just take the actions of printing, instead of choosing your printer pick print to PDF. The save screen will pop up. Save it where you want and voila...no formatting problems lol!

However, I do like the idea of presenting them at the meet. So if anyone have formatting issues let's just save all documents as pdf's we can put them on google docs so all can access. If anyone is not familiar with google docs just send me the pdf file and I will upload it to my google docs.

Mary,
I thought Erin was going to format them all, so they all looked uniform????

PS Mindy- you can buy a FE extender on ebay;) I am debating it. I think they are around $30. Really not too bad if you consider the materials alone may run $20.

I did see that, there are only 2 people selling them...one charging a minimum of 25 all inclusive and the other charging 19.99 but then charging for personalization.

BTW Kate I forgot to give you my room number 8100.

Oh Ok..we could do it that way as well. Whatever works- they can all look a little different though so each day has it's own character? Not sure, or they should all be exactly the same?

Also a seller on Etsy has the FE!

So in 38 days, I get to meet Susan and Stacey on my flight to Barcelona. In 40 days I get to see Lori climbing over the balcony to get to my room, and then I see Kim at dinner. In 41 days I get to see the rest of our motley crew :lmao: at the Dismeet....I can not wait.

Today we booked our car to and from the airport at home. Now I have to do inventory on clothing, we have our packing cubes and new cases, I need to find my old magnets and print out my new ones and DH needs to get measured for a tux. I sure hope I'm not forgetting anything.

Either's fine with me, just wanted them to be coallated together as one, I just thought ERin was collecting them all rather than everyone print our their own.

What is Etsy?

:banana: I know...I have soooo much to do, but it is so exciting lol!

Etsy is a site where creative crafty people have a forum to make stuff (whatever it is) and have a platform to sell it.

Mine is not yet done( am I the only one outstanding?) That's because DH is doing it and I keep hearing that he's almost finished now for 3 weeks. I'll push him to finish it this weekend.

NO you are not -- Mary did the first one -- that was who that comment should have gone to - sorry.. confused...

Mary could you send me a pages version - I like the idea of having the layout somewhat the same and I am learning Pages ---

Excited to see others spending time in Paris. I know Pixie08 has a resi at the Eiffel Tower restaurant...I need to start planning for Paris. :surfweb: I definitely want to get back to my favorite steak frite restaurant-Le Relais de l'Entrecôte (I may try Le Relais de Venise, closer to our hotel). We're also now hostage to the Starwood frequent stay program, so we're staying all-SPG for the vacation. Le Meridien looks like it's in a great location.

Hi everyone -

I was playing on DCL's site today to see how booked our cruise is now that we're getting close!!! Cat's 11,10,9,8,7 and 6 are all in GTY right now. Cat 5 has 2 rooms left and cat 4 has 3. Also, main dining is all that's left for dining options. So it looks like our cruise is getting popular. Also, there is no cat 12 anymore for our sailing. I have seen it pop up time to time for the Aug 7th sailing and it's still available for the Aug 28th one. Since everyone is posting their itineraries, I'll do mine

Aug 14th - Fly to Paris from JFK
Aug 15 - 17 - Paris
Aug 17 - Fly to BCN and stay night at Le Meridien
Aug 18 - try for upgrade to cat 3 :worship::laughing:
Aug 20 - Valetta Historical Hunt, excursion through DCL
Aug 21 - Pottery in Nabeul, excursion through DCL
Aug 22 - Timeless Pompeii and Flavors of Sorrento, excursion though DCL
Aug 23 - Private excursion of Rome and Vatican with DIS friends
Aug 24 - Private excursion of Pisa(climb the tower!) and Florence with DIS friends
Aug 25 - relax, maybe market then the beach
Aug 26 - Cannes, Grasse and St. Paul, DCL excursion
Aug 28 - HOHO bus in Barcelona, stay night at Le Meridien
Aug 29 - fly home to JFK

We'll be staying at the W Hotel in Barcelona, before and after. Hope it's not too loud. :yay:

Ok 40 days until we cruise!!!!!

38 days until our flight!!!!!!

What hotel is everyone staying in Barcelona... ?? Novotel Barcelona City??

Booking tonight!

Irene The problem with just "winging it" with a taxi driver at port is that you are at the mercy of luck. Besides, in many of the ports, Rome, La Spezia (for cinque terre, pisa), Villafrenche, Naples (for pompei, mt vesuvias), etc the public transport is JUST as easy and a fraction of the cost to take you to the big tourist locals in that area. Case in point Rome- 9 euro per person round trip to take the train or 300 euro to take a taxi round trip. Your call. This is europe, not the US. Here, they rely on public transportation and the taxis are not as dominant. If there are 5 of you in your group you have to factor in the cost of public transport and then see if it makes more sense for you to take it there. Rome 45 euro for all public transport vs 300 euro for taxis there and back (not including touring the city). Tunisia I have heard of people getting cabs to Sidi Bou Said, Carthage, etc and telling the driver to wait for them for a set fee and it worked out. The going rate there is 25 euro per hour. I think the cabs only hold 3-4 adults though. Not sure if they have the mini vans. In Italy they have the vans but they are NOT as abundant and you will be waiting quite a bit. Villefrenche there is a train and bus that runs for 1 euro pp to montecarlo, monaco, etc. It's all in what you are comfortable with.

Mary,

You left me off the FE on your website. Remember DH wants to do it. We even bought the FE already, I don't have time to make it. I think you have all my info on your website already...room is 8100.

To those staying in Paris before, where are you staying? We'll be at the Marriott Champs Elysse. We were going to stay at the Westin, but we needed 2 rooms there and we couldn't get 2 with our Starwood points. DH stays at the Marriott when on business, it's the closest hotel to the office out there and the Starwood options are paltry at best. AND the Marriott had a room big enough to fit all 4 of us and it's was available on points!!!!! I didn't want two rooms, even connecting, in a foreign country with my kids. So the junior suites won out! That's what we have at the Marriott and Le Meridien.

I thought I posted this... I must be losing my mind...

Kate, DH wants to do the FE here is our info
Darren
Lori
Julianna (12)
Brandon (9)
cabin 8088

I am so jealous of you guys with your even number state rooms! That means you have verandahs and views! pirate:

I propose some rules to the FE...

1. We close the option for joining by August 1 to give everyone enough time to get their stuff together before they leave.

2. IF you get an upgrade, leave everyone in the FE a post-it on their cabin door with your DIS name, old cabin and new cabin number

3. After the list has been closed by Kate, Mary then uploads the final list to the website for everyone to see and print.

Thoughts?

Sounds good to me...I've never done this before, so I don't know how it's done

I don't understand your comment. I don't believe only even number state rooms have a veranda, I know the ones that start with 7 have one ....we're on deck 8 where the cat 1,2,3, and 4 cabins are.

hahaha, I just know that on my floor all the inside cabins are odd and all the outside cabins are even. Views, balconies, etc are outside cabins, I thought! :) That is all I meant. Just a joke. Wishing I had a verandah. :)

I was checking out packing cubes this week and wondering what is the deal with them? Many people rave about them, do they just keep you more organized? I don't see how they could help you pack more?

Also got a fantastic deal on a polycarbonite (hard sided) large suitcase, it's a beauty. I wonder how scratched up it will get, it's so shiny now. The store said any scratches could be buffed out - I'm thinking yeah right:laughing:
