Hi all, we have had a busy weekend and Mon/Tues will be very busy gettting ready for the trip home on Weds. Unfortunately, both US & England now out of world cup....

Kim: You live on an island -how exotic! Can you do everything right there on the island, school, work, shopping, etc or do you have to drive to mainland?

It is a fast food rest. The website has their nutritional info, quite shocking!!

If it works out with the bus company to the port, that would be great or if you need to split it with your friend, no problem, we will just get a taxi.

Adsmama: We got our Vatican tickets online (for 1:00) on Saturday. Friday was the first day they were actually available online for Aug 23. We paid 4
euros extra per person getting the tix online. Our driver provides the Colisuem tickets.

There's me, DH, DS (who is 15), DD (who is 10, but will be turning 11 on the cruise! ) and DGM (My mom) This will be our second cruise on the Magic and we are looking forward to going to the Med.

I believe we have some other Canadians too, all though we haven't heard from them in a while. Your kids seem to be in the same age range as all of ours who are here. If you look for one of Pixie08's postings, she has created a website for our cruise. Send her your info and she can add you to our roster. Again Welcome!! I leave 7 weeks from tomorrow.,.....YEAH!!!!

Hi everyone! I just read on cruise critic on someone who booked on the Aug 7th sailing, who booked a cat 12, got a cat 9 assigned last Thurs. So, it looks like those of with GTY's should be getting our cabin assignments soon!!!! My guess is either late this week, or early next week as that will be around 45 days from sailing.

I'm glad to here there are more pirates in the works! I'm pretty much finished w/DD's Pirate costume, and am going to start on my and DH's pirate shirts. Vests are next...

I'm not sure I'd call it exotic. We have a bridge and can easily get off the northern part of the island. The southern tip (whole island about 40-ish miles long) has a ferry, but not only is it a bit expensive, but if you miss one, it makes the trip ever so long. It's easier to drive around...about the same time if you were to drive all the way down to the ferry and then immediately get on. DH is a DOD employee, so this is essentially a military town. It's way small, and all we have other than grocery stores is a tiny WalMart. Oh, and a Home Depot. The city council really needs to do a better job at planned development and luring businesses. It's about a 45-min drive to a Costco, Old Navy, and Kohl's. About 1 hour 20 minutes to a really good mall. Also about 1-ish hours is the Canadian border. Got our passports 2 years ago when we moved here.....and still haven't gone up. I'm just glad to be back on the west coast. Spent too many years land-locked in CO.

Ugh. I didn't care for it before, but now that I've seen the nutritionals, I'll never eat there again! I took a nutrition class in 1994-ish, and it had some of the fast-food info in there....I haven't had Kentucky Fried chicken since! A 2-piece meal had 55g of fat! I do miss the biscuits....but I figured out how to make my own...and less greasy!

Week ahead very busy....

just one of the quiet Canadians checking in! Haven't had much time to post or read lately....we got a new puppy (lab/sheppard mix) on the weekend...and to say she has taken over would be an understatement!

Congrats to all you exercisers....I guess with a dog in my life I'll be doing lots of walking!!!!

Can't wait for cabin assignments and the cruise....get I'd better get my port done for the journal.....

We are from Toronto. No plans for Canada Day this year...maybe we'll do some fireworks in the backyard. We've done the Hill in Ottawa in the past and it's a blast!

We too will be dressing for Pirate night. My DD is 11 and thoroughly enjoys it....

Are you spending any extra time in Europe before or after the cruise? We only have day in Barcelona at each end....we've done a lot of travelling this year and I'm running out of vacation days!

I would have loved to have more time....but that pesky work thing gets in the way!! I only ended up with one at each end because it took about $500 off the airfare...more than enough for an extra night's hotel! Where are you staying after the cruise?

We're doing 1 night before and after too! Can you believe we leave 7 weeks from today!!...I've had this booked for 20 months, so I can't believe it's so close.

I'm losing track of who is doing what, are you collecting the port information to make the journal for the kids? My DH is almost done with Tunis and I know Mary finished hers.

I haven't done Day 2 of week 1 yet...I was away all weekend and could not get to the gym because I was on other's schedule. But I started on Wednesday, so I should be able to get the 2nd and 3rd day in tonight and tomorrow.
