Come on guys we have fallen back to page 3!!!!! I almost didn't find this thread...

Anyway, I just got the cutest thing in the mail from DCL. It's a Welcome to your Mediterranean Vacation booklet. It's really cute and just contains some tips about port location, opening time, recommended flight times, etc. There is also another page which lists the dates your booking window opens and when your final payment is due. I guess this means we're getting closer!!!! I just wish DCL would give me a room number....... I don't think I'll see one until after final payment, which for me is April 20th, though I'm paying it off on April 15th. Might as well have all the financial bleeding occur on one day......

ooooh....now I'm excited to go home and get the mail. I'll have to hide it until the kids are not around. Lori, it's basically just you, me and Kim on this board for the most part. I don't get it...with all the people that are supposed to be on this cruise, I would think there would be more...maybe after they make final payments??????

Maybe there is hope for an upgrade to a 3 for me... though last time I called DCL, there were no 3's left for our sailing...... Cat 4's are in GTY all other cats do look wide open though...... I'm looking it at this way.. less people to compete with for excursions, spa appts and Palo ressies...

Hi everyone. I got the mailer today too. It was VERY exciting. It makes it seem like it will be here before we know it.

Mindy- I still can't believe you are able to keep it a secret from your kids. I am so amazed. What hotel are you staying pre and have you arranged transfers yet. Is there any one else with us on that continental flight on the 16th?

Still haven't gotten my dh to look at excursions with me. I hope we do it soon. I just noticed that my excursion,palo and spa reservation date will be a tuesday night. I usually try to get online at midnight. I guess I will be tired the next day. It is funny all of my other dates have been on weekends so it wasn't bad.

What do other people think about the new kids programming changes. My DD used the lab quite a bit in the past and I am curious how this will impact her time there?

DD was finally back in school today. It was interesting to read people's opinions on how dressy people plan to get for the cruise. On past cruises DH wore a suit for formal and DD and myself wore cocktail type dresses.
We may have to reevaluate based on how much luggage we want to take. We have main dining so that will make it even harder to get "dressed up " for dinner. What dinner seatings do other people have? I have been debating if we should change to late. We had late for the first time on our 10/31 sailing. It had its good and bad points.

We have late and we're not dressing up. Even though we have 2 bags per person included with our air, I don't want to drag that much stuff. It's just too time consuming, but who knows we may change our mind..... We think early is too early to eat dinner, at home we usually eat around 7:30 anyway, so late works more into our normal schedules. Also, with the port departures being after 6 for a few ports, early would be a pain to have to rush back for.

That reminds me, for those of us booked with Mr Caponera, what time are we planning on returning from Rome? I think for my Florence/Pisa group the plan is to be back by 6pm.

We're late dining and will be dressing up. I figure with all the snack options that we'd be fine, and didn't want to have to rush either after returning from excursions.

And Lori, the tour on-line states 6pm, but his email says "at our convenience". I mentioned 6, figuring that would give us plenty of time in case something comes up!

I think the kids club changes will be positive. DD is on the upper end of the old "oceaneer's club", so I think being able to choose will keep her interested and challenged (hopefully).

I don't know who else is on the flight...but yes my kids have no idea about the cruise - they just know they're going to Barcelona.

My husband and I have looked at excursions individually, but not together...we get to book on 4/20....our final payment is due in 3 weeks. My kids qualify for what used to be the old oceaneers lab..they'll be 9 when we cruise...they loved the club when we sailed last,but since they were 7 1/2 they were dying to get into the lab.

I'm not sure what we're doing about dressing up. I have my black cocktail dress that I wore on the last cruise and my husband may want to rent a tux...he's the one that gets into all that.

We didn't get out little packet from Disney yesterday. DH got home first and ran to the mailbox to pull it out before the kids got home and he said nothing was there. Perhaps today.

we're still going on the cruise

got the cruise booklet a couple of days ago. can book excursions and palo on may 5th.

DH and I don't dress up for formal and semi-formal nights. we always go to dinner wearing slacks and shirt. we're not into dressing up and it helps with the packing. DD likes to dress up so will get her some casual dresses. we have main dining so if we get back late from an excursion just might stay in shorts for dinner. jeans are an option now but might be too warm for them.

another thing to consider packing is a costume for pirate night.

We've only been on one cruise...but Brent was our CD and Christian was our ACD and we love them both....

I booked thru a TA and it came here. Cute though it
may be, it's nothing you don't already know. I let DD go thru it and DH was quizzing me about various parts.

We're also getting hit with the same storm. Unfortunately, Darren is away on business, so I have to dig us out. He was supposed to fly home tomorrow, but switched his flight to Sat, as we figured his flight tomorrow would be cancelled. There were very few seats available for Sat, so he switched so he could get home this weekend.

We're also with a TA and got the booklet mailed here. Maybe Mindy, the booket is for us sailing in steerage and not for suites!!!!
