August 17, 2013 - A Fantasy Cruise to Paradise

We are booking this cruise. It will either be number 9 or 10 depending if we keep our fall one.

It will be me and DH plus dd 13 and ds 8. It would be first time on the Fantasy! We've been on Dream once and all the rest have been the classic ships as an annual vacation.

:welcome:

This sounds fun! I just read about it in the Mousesavers Newsletter.

Stamping Your Passport at Skyline on the Disney Fantasy

If you have been to Skyline on the Disney Fantasy, most likely this chic lounge became one of your favorite spots in the ship’s nightlife district. With its “windows to the world,” you get an ever-changing bird’s-eye view of stunning city skylines in panorama – making it easy to feel like you’ve been transported without even stepping off the ship!

New to Skyline on the Disney Fantasy is a “passport” you can get stamped throughout your cruise for seven hand-crafted martinis, themed to each of the featured cities. By purchasing the Passport to Skyline, you end up saving the cost of one martini, plus some. What’s more, you get a cool keepsake – a booklet with recipes for the martinis and gorgeous photos of the seven city skylines.

One year from today! Happy one year to go, everyone!

We are in North Carolina visiting my parents, then off to Myrtle Beach for what appears is going to be a rainy beach week.

Hope you all are doing well! I will try to update the front message when we get back. Can anyone make a cool little graphic or signature? I am not creative that way!

Hi! :wave2: We just got back yesterday from a Bahamas cruise on the Dream. We had such a great time, we booked our next cruise. :dance3: So, we'll be on the August 17 Western Caribbean cruise on the Fantasy! It will be me, my husband (Frank), and my 11 year old daughter, Lauren.

We definitely would like to participate in the fish extender gift exchange. We will be in cabin 8608.

We can't wait!

Julie

Hi there! Glad you are joining us! We have a daughter who will also be 11, so the more 11 year old girls, the merrier, I say. :) This will be our first time sailing without friends her age, so she will be on her own! Her brother will be four (almost five) when we sail, and really, he is only fun for so long. :)

:welcome:

I haven't been keeping count, but it seems like we have a lot of girls around the same age in our group! My daughter will be 11 next summer (I'm sure she would correct me and say 11 and a half), and I think there are a few boys around the same age too (my son will be 13). It would be fun to have a group meetup, particularly so the kids could meet and maybe make a few friends. Has anyone had any luck scheduling one? We had one scheduled on our cruise last summer, but it was in the afternoon of our first day on board, and it completely slipped my mind. I think we were just too excited to be on the ship to think about a schedule.

If the kids all use the computer occasionally, maybe we can figure out a secure way to let them chat through the internet closer to the date. I am a little internet paranoid when it comes to my kiddo, though. :)

I'm curious if anyone's ever purchased baskets from Gift Baskets by Shirley. She keeps a thread active about information for the Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach area that's very helpful (see link below). The baskets are delivered to your state room and are waiting for you when you get there. The photos look great. Just wondering if anyone here has had personal experience with them. Thanks!

Now that I am on a real computer and not my phone, I can answer this better. We got three baskets from Shirley on our last cruise (admittedly, that was seven years ago!) and all three were wonderful. One was for our daughter and the other two were from the kids of friends sailing with us. She was great with suggestions, and even talked me out of buying a more expensive basket, suggesting that my three year old was unlikely to care that much.

I have pictures, so I will look for them when we get back home from vacation, but that won't be until next week!

That DOES sound cool! I would love them to do some other type of drink though, as I loath gin! Hahahaha! Still, it sounds like a great deal, and kind of fun. Sort of a "Drinks Around the World" (as done in Epcot) for the ship!

Hi All-

We are booking the cruise on the Fantasy for the 17th in about a week. We have an 8 year old daughter and we would like to participate in the FE. Can anyone give me a tutorial on how the FE works? It sounds like fun.

Hi
we just returned from our cruise and I booked August 17 2913 cruise on board. It is likely that we won't join you, but instead defer until 2014 but I thought I would say hi. If you are looking for information on FE, check out the website below for the details. Some fellow cruisers gave me permission to post this for our last cruise and the info is great!

The fish extender (FE) exchange is kind of like a secret santa, although you don't have to keep your identity a secret. Everyone in the group exchanges little gifts. I've posted a link below that gives better information than I can. I participated for the first time last year and my kids and I really had fun with it. It was so fun to come back to the room to find a little surprise, and it was a lot of fun to run around the ship handing out gifts.

I updated the first message with the Facebook group link. Hopefully it will work!

Hope everyone is doing well! We have one last week of summer, then we start school back up and get back into the school year routine. Good times. We are going to visit Great Wolf Lodge this weekend for one last 'End of Summer' trip!

What an incredible time we had last week on the Fantasy (Eastern Caribbean). The Fantasy is a beautiful ship. Our day at Catstaway Cay was picture perfect. The water must have been 80 degrees and was like glass. We booked this cruise while on board but are not sure if we will keep the date. We'll wait till the 2014 dates come out. I wanted to stop in and introduce myself in case we decide to keep this cruise. I'd be happy to answer any questions about the Fantasy.

Welcome! Karin (dizneeat) has been organizing the FE, but I believe she's still on a big trip to Disney. I'm sure she'll be in touch when she's back on line.
