August 17, 2012 Magic in NYC!

He can meet my sons at the meet. Age 14 and 16, with 15 year old buddy.

Is it too late to join for fishextenders??? I didnt know about them until recently and myself and the other 3 couples were traveling with would love to participate. We sail aug 17 on the magic.

I would LOVE my 14 year old son to meet some other kids close to his age. Not sure he would go to the Edge alone and my 2 younger sons play fine together. He is at that awkward age, not a little kid, but not a full teenager either![/QUOte

What is your son into my DS15 is into Baseball and Snowboarding. He is on the quiet side but if your into baseball he will open up.

Mine is quiet too, but is into video games (Minecraft if you know what that game is). Hopefully he will make a couple of friends so he will feel comfortable going to the teen club!

The Magic is in Port Canaveral today, the next time the ship sails in we will be on it:cool2:

15 more days until we board:banana::yay::woohoo:

OMG!!! The next time the Magic sails into Port Canaveral, we will be on it??? HOLY COW!!!! :cool1::cool1:

I am waiting until we get down to 8 days. I am going to pay attention to how sllooooow the 8 days of waiting goes by, compared to fast the 8 days of the cruise will go by.

Ok who is packed? I feel like I am so behind. Thank God for Friday's off during the summer. Friday is dedicated to getting ready for DCL! I am going to put my daughter on the bus to camp first thing in the morning then I am off. I will have a solid 9 hours before I pick her up. How much will I get done? I better get my list together tonight!

Nope, not packed yet. I'll pack a few days before and add last minute things morning of the cruise. It's going to be easy packing for the longer cruise, not as easy as 2 night, but easier then when we have to fly, since won't have to worry about packing liquids separate.

Julia, you are probably an expert when packing for DCL! You probably have it down to a science.

I love not worry about liquids!!!!

Yeah I am an expert, of course only got myself to pack for, but it's hard lol, I live not worrying about liquids as well

We are flying on Wednesday so definitely started. Normally I'm not that bothered about packing but I've had to put more effort in this time- suits and evening wear has never featured in my luggage! Hope we are not going to look silly all dressed up!
Any 'must takes' from all you professional cruisers would be very useful. X
My 3 year old cant swim, do we need to bring our own float jacket or are there any on board?

Is there anything you definitely won't need that you packed on our first cruise?

Don't have any must takes or things you shouldn't pack, just try not to over pack like I do lol, I usually will over pack by a few items and then take one or two things out.

My husband usually goes mad on our return from the states ( outlet mall to blame not me!) I think going will be as bad this year!

I'm a 'just in case' person. Anything I don't have now will have to wait until arundel mills or jersey garden-shoes, chinos and shirts for son, evening bag for me, couple of Bargins, you know essentials ;-)

Not packed yet. Got to get the luggage out of the attic. We have started to sort out the formal and semi-formal clothes though so I guess that is a start.

Half the clothes. I will do a quick wash and dry mid- cruise. I pack the 3 in one laundry sheets instead of liquids.

Tips we used:

-a dollar store shoe holder, with pockets. This can be attached to the bathroom door and hold items...chargers, toiletries, a pen. Makes things easy to find.

- door decorations

-small bills for tipping room service

-post it notes and pen to keep track of family's coming's and goings

- some kind of hard box or tube to pack crushable items and or drawings and posters picked up along the way

- an extension cord if you charge items at your bedside, e.g your phone

- some kind of small wallet or bus pass holder to hold the key to the world and fast passes

-lucky charm for bingo! Ha ha!

Don't forget the FE!

Isn't that why they give us lanyards?

I definitely second the cash part. Especially on excursions You may want to tip your host. We went parasailing and I felt like a heel because I had no cash on me to tip the guys who worked so hard to make it such a fun trip! Sure, I went to guest relations and charged a tip to them, but I still was emabarrassed when I had nothing to give them

not only am I not packed but I have to go out and buy luggage the last luggage set I bought was destroyed by the airline - unless I consider just taping up the box I've been slowly accumulating stuff for this cruises in!!!

Ok the kids started to pack on Fri when we told them about the trip but that is all that is packed, we are dressing for both formal and semi nights(sil got the kids nautical dressy clothes, not sure for me on semi night)

as for lanyards we are bringing some as well, i dont think they give you them until your 2nd cruise when you get silver. We have separate ones for pin trading already.

bummer have to rethink my FE for the girls, have all supplies but when i started to sew realized the mickeys were to big on the thread and would be sewn on..http://www.wdwinfo.com/images/smilies/sad20.gif

You are right you don't get lanyards till your second cruise

I just started getting my girls organized. We have an extra clothes rack on wheels that we are using to hang clothes we want to bring to the cruise. We have a shelf for clothes and shoes too. Right now we would need an eighteen wheeler truck to carry everything! Ha! We need to simplify.
Just sooooooo excited.
