Thanks Keever!

Documents today too!! yippee:woohoo:

Got our cruise documents today!! Finally hit me that we are FINALLY going, I have re-booked this cruise 3 times over the last 3 years and we are finally going!!! I have cruised on many cruises, but never Disney. I have a couple of questions, do we need beach towels? Especially since we are doing the beach day at Atlantis. And I know someone said you bring on water, we go through A LOT of water (family of 6, plus my parents so 8 people!) Do you drink the tap water at all? Do they limit the amount you can bring on?
So excited!!!

You can bring water onboard if you want, they do say to carry it on, but some people do check it. I never bring water, since the water onboard is just fine. But there is no limit

Got our cruise docs today! :cool1:

One little problem. Our Disney Dream 2011 cruise was the qualifier for my kids to become Gold CC members. This Magic cruise is their 6th, my 7th.

FLipping through the documents booklet, I noticed they have the Castaway Club levels listed for each person. Myself and the boys are at gold, while my daughter, aka "Her Highness" is listed as only a silver.

OOPS! Not going to fly....no sir. There is no way she is going to allow her brothers to receive a gold lanyard at check-in while she has an ugly silver. LOL. Not when she knows she has been on the exact cruises as her brothers. Looks like a call to DCL is on order to get this fixed before we arrive at the port.

Fish extenders sound great but I mentioned to hubbie and he laughed- and said "2 1/2 week holiday in USA, outlet shopping and a cruise, you gonna have room to bring extra stuff back?" I hate to admit it but he does have a point!
It is completely up my street but I think I will have to decline to avoid a divorce on the last day of the cruise ( regular holidays send husband into packing melt down, as I am a shopper)

I'm so excited, we haven't told our kids yet, they only know about going to Washington dc. We might wait until we get to the port and say ' see that, we are going on that, NOW!!!!
Very difficult keeping it a secret, bought my son a suit the other day, said it was for a wedding! Am getting a but carried away buying evening wear, need to pace my self for arundel mills!
See you all sooooon!

I always check a case of water in a carry one & have it delivered to the room. The 1st year I hand carried it in & that was awful to lug around for 2 hours until our stateroom was ready!

Aslo, I have NEVER brought my own beach towels-- ever! DCL will provide them when you are leaving the ship for your excursions (you can take them if your excursion is booked through DCL or booked privately.)

Great, no beach towels!
I have to figure out just how much water to bring, I have to make baby bottles with it, and my family only really drinks water. I'll be happy to bring water, but I'm sure we'll drink the ships at meals.

One more question, my 2 year old isn't quite potty trained, so she can't go in the pool?

If we happen to run out of diapers, can I get some one the ship?

Someone else mentioned this, I think, I really don't want to miss the sail away, and we have early dinner. Is it really bad if we miss the 1st nights dinner? Would we be missing much?

I'm not sure about diapers on the ship but there are markets in Nassau and there is probably somewhere in WDW that you can get them, if not it's only a short taxi ride from Port Canaveral or WDW to a grocery store.

As far as missing the first nights dinner, if you are at Animator's Palette the first night you will miss that show, they only do it once. Early seating starts before the ship reaches the sea but you should be able to watch as we pass downtown Manhattan island and the Statue of Liberty.

For people talking about missing early seating, I really wouldn't, but that is just me. You pass by everything pretty much before dinner, just get some nice clothes on before dinner if worried. On 2 night I did that and it worked out great. This time we are late dinner(tried on Fantasy and loved it)

DCL has a service where they'll provide you with diapers, wipes, bottles, food, bathing supplies, etc. It's called "Babies Travel Lite". They deliver whatever you order right to your stateroom. Check out your online reservation page under "In Room Gifts and Shopping" or call the customer service line. They can explain it. If you don't use that then I think I remember there being some in the gift shop but not a huge selection. It's been a while since we needed them but I think I've heard that in an emergency and when the gift shops are closed you can ask at the guest services desk and they can grab you a few.

There is a little splash area next to the Mickey pool slide for the little ones in diapers.

And I agree with the other posters who say if you have Animators Pallette the first night you shouldn't skip it, and anyway the party will be over before the first seating. I just looked up a Navigator from the June 2nd cruise out of NYC and it says the party goes from 4:30-5:15. first seating is at 5:45. Other cruisers have mentioned they passed Lady Liberty around 5:30. So I think you'll be ok, maybe a little late but I'm sure there'll be a lot of that that first seating.

yup you should be ok, you pass all of really good stuff before dinner if you are worried change before and then watch sail out from deck 4 so you don't have to rush

I think 1st seating will have more than enough time - we have never made it on time to dinner on the first night and there have been alot of other families in the same boat - (no pun intended) - 1st night is always crazy

Got our docs today!!! I can't wait - we are only one month and one day away!!!!! Someone asked me today, do you really relax on a Disney cruise? I told her yes because as a mom it is the only place where I don't have to be "on". I can sit back and relax. I don't have to be on a schedule. And if I am going to be on a schedule, I can schedule some of that time around me!

Hi, all!

Hi! We are very excited to be going on our first Disney cruise and wish to be a part of the fishies/ fish extenders experience, but I can't send a PM to Keever, as I just joined the disboards (okay, so I'm behind the ball, lol!)

we are two adults, cabin 6583, me (merida613) and my DH.

Anyone who can help us sign up? Thanks!

Well said!

The Fish Extender will close July 16. Any last minute fishies out there? Lislaw this may be just the thing for you!
