Is there something special happening on August 16th? I notice several resorts don't have that one day available and I thought it was odd.

School for many families starts that following Monday. It is possible lots of people are getting a last hurrah in, but that's a wild guess.

Yeah, low points day in the middle of higher points days....so, I'm guessing a lot of people chose to start or end their trips on that day to save a few points..
