Harry, sorry to hear it has already started there.

Everything, is getting cancelled here too. But no flakes as of yet. Bruce, has to run out and get our pool pump off of our pool cover before it starts snowing and gets covered in snow. Then we are going to bake and bake some more cookies today!!

The kids are doing gingerbread houses right now :)

Very nasty out right now.

The heaviest snow is moving in now.... latest forecast is for 20-25 inches :scared1: :scared1:

We are now experiencing "thunder snow" - which is creepy as hell!

Lewis Black does a great bit on weather... "And on the last day, there was thunder, lightning and snow together. And I had not done drugs... Cause when you're lying in bed, you hear thunder outside, and you get up to look, you have an expectation. And it's not snow with lightning behind it. That's f'd up!"

Blizzard warning for us too! I was driving home from a X-mas party tonight and the roads are already F'd up, I'm sure all the cars behind me were cheering when I finally turned off of the main road since I was the California driver doing 15 MPH down the road! I hate snow!!!! Can I move back to Ca. yet? I guess at least we'll have a white Christmas now or at least a somewhat brownish white.

we just sent you an email

dee and don

final snowfall here - 24". Second biggest storm EVER here. Brutal - no other word to describe.

Well, I just got an e-mail from my daughters teacher and they have cancelled school for Mon. and Tues. (I knew they would) So the kids are bouncing off the walls because they don't have to go back till NEXT YEAR!!!! I knew I should have just got in the car and started driving toward Disney the second I found out about this storm! The ironic thing is we were supposed to be down there right now but I changed the the trip to the week after Thanksgiving instead.

Looks, like CT did not get as much snow as everyone else we have about five inches of snow. So not to bad. We just had our driveway plowed out so we are going to head out to the store for a few things for the girls. They both want reindeer headbands for school tomorrow!!

schools are closed here tomorrow.... though I really think they could have pulled it off - most of the major roads are cleared.

Visions of Castaway Cay were dancing in my head as I spent HOURS digging out of this wintry nightmare!

I bet the kids are happy that there is no school............Do they have school Tues. and Wed.??

It's been a LONG time since we've even had 24 inches of snow in one storm!!! Wow. We are apparently in for a storm this week, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. They say snow, freezing rain then blizzard conditions, followed by subzero temps for the weekend. Not a good forecast when we have to drive 3 hours each way to Grandmas on Christmas Day. Unless of course it's bad enough we can't go...

Erika - We will be driving south to Albert Lea into the storm on Christmas day...not good at all. I am hoping that they are totally wrong with this one because a blizzard going down Hwy 35 is my worse nightmare!!!

I hope that you and I both have safe travels!

After digging out on Sunday we eventually made it our for a Christmas brunch and then off for pictures with Santa.....

snow here too

love the Christmas photo Harry

School closed today for the holidays , Great no more homework and lunches for 2 weeks

The last gift has been purchased, teacher gifts are done, cookies are baked!:woohoo:
I can actually see my dining room table again!! Things are winding down!
I wish all of you a wonderful holiday and safe travels! Enjoy your time with your family!! :santa:

The next 72 hours will be the craziest...

Today I have to finish work. Teaching a class full of students who want to be on break as bad as I do makes for a very long day. I love my students but they are already a bit loud and crazy...a holiday party with more crafts and sugary treats is not going to help them.

Tomorrow morning I have to finish my shopping...yes, I know I should have done this ages ago. I will admit that I am one of those people who is always out shopping for a "few last things" on Christmas Eve. :rolleyes1

Then, it is off to my mom's for our Christmas Eve celebration. We will spend the night at her place before heading to my in-laws place for Christmas day. These 2 events would not be such a big deal...except it means lots of driving...and we are suppose to have a blizzard coming...hmmmm...news is saying 60 hours of a winter weather warning...maybe we will be staying home some!

Hope everyone else finds some peace in the upcoming days! Happy holidays!:santa:

Harry - LOVED your photo! Thanks for sharing it!
