August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

Evening Everyone! It has been a good day.

I was able to get almost all of our packing done - only last minute stuff to go in on Sunday night. I still need to cut off Ben's old black pants and make them into pirate pants...but he is wearing them to the wedding on Saturday night first! His new black pants are packed!

We got to Target and got the things I knew we needed as well as a few other things. We now have gum for the flight, lint rollers (we have cats and it always seems that our clothes need the lint roller), I have leggings for my one short dress, Ben has a swim shirt and a bunch of other little things we all just had to have. I am hoping we will not need any more errands for the trip.

The kids and I unpacked all the FE gifts, added one last little treat I picked up for the kids and then repacked them all.

I am excited that I found a great file to add to my Garmin from MouseSavers that has all kinds of maps for Florida. It was great because when I first tried...my Garmin could not find the Poly. Now we have all the hotels, parks, etc! It was a super find!

Spent time researching books to read on the flights and downloaded the kindle version of a bunch for DD, DH and me. Too bad DS doesn't like to read. We can read the kindle books on our iPads so it works great! I downloaded 6 or 7 new books!

DH is now cooking spaghetti with meatballs while I listen to Italian music and drink wine! Got to love DH!

Safe journeys again to all of you who are leaving! I will miss chatting with you all but am thrilled it is not long until we will all be on the Dream together enjoying our long awaited trip!

Steve, Erika and whoever else is still working....just think you are almost done and on vacation! Steve - you probably have it the worse but it won't be long and it is nice that you have a new job!

Kristin - if you get a chance....call me tonight. I am already feeling lonely!

To everyone who is still packing - Get it going! I swear I took the suitcases out a month ago and I am not sure why it took me so long. Next time I should just wait until the week before and go with it!

Alright, time to have a bit more wine, enjoy the night with the family and hopefully finish my Disney puzzle that I started a couple of weeks ago!

Jordan (11) has a bunch of summer homework too! 3 novels - with critical essays about them, a movie review, a concert review, a social studies project (travel brochure for a historical site), a science research essay and 10 pages of math!
She's only going into 6th grade!!!

like Jen said, i'm a teacher too and i think this is BEYOND excessive.
Glad Tim got his done. Hopefully we won't be trying to cram everything in on Sept 5th

I agree - the amount of work is intense, especially for these AP classes.

Budget has had good prices. I ended up with Alamo because of some flukey pricing one day where I got a minivan for 10 days for $300 taxes and fees included! I have no clue how I got it nor did the agent when I called to adjust the hours (when I tried to adjust the hours it went up $600 but the agent did it for me without changing the price).

Is anyone interested in 2 float/tube rentals for the 2nd day of CC?

Right now I have 1-day rentals for the 1st CC day. It is only $1.50 more to change it to a 2 day rental if anyone wants them on the 2nd day....we will even pay the $1.50 difference. We won't need them the 2nd day because we ended up getting a cabana and that includes floats/tubes.

Seems like a waste if someone only needs float/tube rentals for the 2nd day. Let me know and I can make sure we figure out how to adjust our reservation and then get you the receipt so that you can use them!

We are home from visiting with my mom the procedure went well. She said it was the doctors birthday today so she talked to him the entire time so that her feel better about the whole thing!!

Sure hope everything goes good for your Mom and she can relax and enjoy herself!

I just got back from playing tennis at our club. It felt great to get some exercise and even better to be out of the house away from all of the luggage that won't be going to Florida until Monday. I hit the ball a little bit harder on the court every time the thought of "luggage" entered my brain!

Safe journeys for those of you who are leaving tomorrow.

We booked with Hertz for the great rate of $60 (included 2 boosters). Our better deal was a kids suite at the CIS for $70 -- I booked that a long time ago!

I agree with Randy, I'm so looking forward to being on the boat, I could care less where we cruise to as long as we leave the mainland behind! Tropical storms won't stop us from having fun!

Send me a PM with your stateroom number and we will just put the receipt for you in an envelope and then leave it in your fish! So glad that someone else can use it.
