August 16, 2011, Disney Dream - Part 4

I starting filling a couple of packing cubes tonight. Now I am really panicking about how many bags we will need and how much space they will take and how much they will weigh!!!

Still so much to do, besides working and packing LOL. Matthew starts college they day after we get home so we still have to buy his books and check the status of loans, etc!

Help!!!:rotfl2:

H Kristin! Quiet around here... everyone must be packing

So much to do and so little time to do it! :rotfl2:

Bring us back some!!

Brought back Klondike Bars and Ice Cream Sandwiches! YUM!

YUM!! I was going to call you too!!

Sorry I was gone. We will have to chat tomorrow. I might go in to my new classroom a bit but I can talk on my cell phone if I am there.

Well DH did some packing. The girls have their clothes picked out and ready to go in suitcases. Last laundry in the dryer, mani and pedi time for mr and my girls tomorrow.
Friday cannot come soon enough!

Janeanne

Sounds like you are getting there! :thumbsup2 Not long until you will be leaving!

I agree Friday can not come soon enough!! I am soo ready to goo!!

You guys are so lucky to be going on Friday - I can't wait for you!!!

Friday!! 57 hours 21 minutes... but who's counting?! :rotfl:

:lmao: Love it that you have it figured out to the hour!

Haven't made as much progress with the actual packing, but we are doing a lot of laundry!

No mani pedis for Beth and I ...no time. We are going to buy some nail polish and do it ourselves.

Working all week is really messing up my pre-trip organizing! Yesterday after work we went and picked up Beth's new glasses, today was Ben's haircut, tomorrow we have to finish up the school supply list purchases. Hopefully Thursday I can devote to actually finalizing the suitcases!

Off to finish up our FEs! pirate:

Sounds like you have some busy days as well. Thursday you and I will be filling our suitcases together!

so jealous of those of you who are done packing-I'm so not even close to being ready, and we start driving thursday night! AAAAHHHH!!

tomorrow is my cut/color, & pedicure - today I tried a no chip french mani for the first time..looks great, hoping it lasts!

can we add a few more hours to the week so I can get everything done? LOL

looking forward to seeing everyone, too!

Don't worry....I am not ready either. Good luck with the last of your packing and have a save journey on Thursday!

Originally we were booked at Vero, but at 7 months we changed it to BLT (majority ruled here!). We are leaving right from there and heading to the port on Tuesday morning.

Can't wait to hear how you like BLT! Can't wait to meet you guys on the ship!

What we really need to do is to hand Jen something with an umbrella in it and in return maybe she can give us some more apple tips since she has done so many amazing things. I'm very clueless when it comes to all the iPhone, iPad and touch gadgets in my house! I was looking at the website earlier and it is really fantastic how she put it all together.

THANKS JEN!!!!!:surfweb::):surfweb:

Your welcome! It really is not all that difficult. I really love putting websites together and wish I had more time this cruise for our site. Believe it or not, the last cruise I did the site for was so much better. Work was just too crazy this time around.

I am with you! I have to get this final exam written before I can start packing tomorrow--argh! At least all the "cruise crafts" are done! We leave Friday afternoon-- yay!!

Anyone else going to be around MCO between 4-5PM on Friday? ;)

Good luck with your final exam! I hope you are able to finish soon so that you can just focus on the vacation!

I have this app and find that most stores can't scan the bar code off the phone, so I still carry the cards.

My box was delivered to the DCL warehouse today. I had my hair appt today, and an emergency eye exam (almost out of contacts and the prescription has expired). I have a few clothes out in piles, but son decided to tell me today that he only has 1 bathing suit (after a week of asking if they need anything for the trip!!). Tomorrow is laundry and packing (& a bit of house cleaning). We leave Thurs morning. :yay::yay: I don't feel ready for the land part at ALL.

See you all SOON.

Whoo Hoo! You are almost ready to go!!! Glad to hear that your box is at the DCL warehouse and you are almost packed!!! Enjoy your trip!!!!

Take a deep breath....relax.....and get moving! :rotfl: I feel the same way! I just keep saying that I know it will all come together in the end!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

After today one more day till we leave!!:yay::woohoo:

I have this app and find that most stores can't scan the bar code off the phone, so I still carry the cards.

I got this app a couple years ago and I feel like it still hasnt really caught on. I still get looks of confusion when I try to use it. Although, I dont use it too much since I feel a little odd handing my phone over to the cashiers. I just thought of all the germs, etc that they are putting on my phone.

I started packing last night and realized that it is no fun packing 25 pounds worth of prescription, ready to feed, baby formula. I think we will need an additional suitcase because of this. I thought of shipping it, but was nervous if it ever didnt make it. I wanted to try to switch to the powder for the trip but the doc advised against it. At least we will have lots of room for souvenirs on the trip home!

So, yesterday afternoon Katerina tells me in an exasperated tone that she couldn't wait for the day to end. I thought something was wrong and so I asked her why she wanted the day to end? She said, she wanted today to end, tomorrow to end, etc because she just wanted the trip to get here already. :)

I thought that was so cute I don't remember her getting so excited before. Maybe it was because before we took shorter, more frequent trips. We would just jump in the car and three hours later were there. So, it didn't seem like such a big deal. Now, we have to catch a plane, we stay longer, and we plan farther out.

Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on in a while, is there going to be a DIS meet on the ship?

Happy and safe travels for those leaving already

Very cute. My kids can relate to this. All I hear morning, noon, and night, is "Mommy how many more days, how many more days?" I am ready for this vacation to begin, that's for sure.

My family's plan is to fly into Orlando on Monday (insanely jealous of everyone who is already in Florida or getting there soon!), head over to the CI&S at the Port, get essentials at various stores and maybe go to Ron Jons, cross the hotel parking lot and have dinner with Kristin's group (can't wait to meet all of you!), get the kids to bed at a decent hour (they will be wiped out from all of the excitement).

On Tuesday the plan is to wake up (hopefully not before the crack of dawn, but with my twins unfortunately that is a likely possibility), have breakfast (we will be on the look out for those muffins!), afterwards return the rental car 50 feet and hop on the Hertz shuttle around 10:45 or whenever they tell us to get over there to line up (our boarding is 11), get on the boat and head for the pools and find something to eat for lunch. I hope to stop by Palo's to see if there is any possibility of getting brunch. I'm signed up for the cabin tour, plan to see everyone at the meet and greet (I've forgotten when that is!), maybe stop by Kristin's travel agent reception, and take the kids on a tour of the kids club. I think that's about it before sailaway. Whew!:cool2:

We have similar plans. We fly in monday morning and are staying at CI&S that night. However since we land in orlando at 10am, we may swing by either a disney park or water park - we will see how the kids feel - before heading to the port. I have Kristin's cell phone number so if we get to the port by dinner, maybe we can meet up for dinner as well. If we dont make it for dinner, maybe we could meet at the pool or someplace else that night.

We have an 8 AM flight on Saturday morning, heading over to CIS by Universal Studios for 3 days. We haven't been to Universal in 5 years so looking forward to that.

The morning of we'll have breakfast at CIS and then the car service will take us to port arriving around 11 AM. The excitement is getting completely insane!! :thumbsup2

That is a lot of baby stuff to pack but having extra room on the way home is always good! :thumbsup2

So Cute! Everyone in my family is getting so terribly excited. I am trying hard to fill the days and make the time pass as fast as possible.

Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on in a while, is there going to be a DIS meet on the ship?

Happy and safe travels for those leaving already

We are meeting at 2:00 up on Deck 13 before the cabin tour. I have been trying to keep up with all the different meets before the cruise and on the cruise - they are posted on our website.

Very cute. My kids can relate to this. All I hear morning, noon, and night, is "Mommy how many more days, how many more days?" I am ready for this vacation to begin, that's for sure.

Beth

Beth - Sounds like your plans are really similar to ours. We have to wait to leave until Monday as well. I think there will be just a few of us on the boards this weekend.

We have similar plans. We fly in monday morning and are staying at CI&S that night. However since we land in orlando at 10am, we may swing by either a disney park or water park - we will see how the kids feel - before heading to the port. Yea! More people staying at port with us! We should land in Orlando around 2:45 PM...then we have to do some errands....and then it is over to CI&S to check in....finally, headed to see Kristin and everyone at the Residence Inn! :cool1:

We are flying out Philly at 10am on Saturday. Phillip's party is at 5pm that day at the Lego Store. Then everyone's coming to our grand villa for food and cake. :)

Sunday, we are going to Magic Kingdom where we have the Pirates League booked for the kids. Monday we will just be hanging around the resort plus we have lunch reservations at T-Rex Cafe.

Tuesday, the car will be picking us up around 9:45am, so hope to be at the port for the 11am opening.

Hi, everyone! We are on the road! :cool1: We'll be at Pop for 2 nights and then the HRH, and CIS!!! I don't know what time we'll get to the port, if we get their early I'll look for everybody. If not, maybe I'll see you guys at breakfast!
Safe travels to everyone!

Does it work well? I haven't tried having things scanned from my iPhone yet... I'm a bit worried about trying the boarding pass--what if it doesn't work?? I feel like I need a paper back-up. I have used it for Groupons, but I get a bit nervous when I have to give my phone up to the waitstaff! (that something will happen to it while it is out of my possession! That's probably because it's still "new" to me.)

I would say it works about 90% of the time. Not sure if I would rely on it solely for my boarding pass. I would bring a printed backup!

We've had a paper chain counting down since 100 days so it took care of a lot of the "how many days left" questions.

We'll be leaving the house Saturday morning and driving to Northern Virginia to board the Auto Train. It arrives on Sunday morning.

After arriving in Florida, we are driving down to Davenport to spend the day/night w/ the ILs. Monday morning we will head back up to the Kennedy Space Center for the day and then drive over to CI&S to check in and join everyone at the pool for dinner.

I am planning on getting us on the first CI&S bus (11am) to the port since I would like to try and get a Palo reservation...although I still am not sure if I should try for the last night or Pirate night? :confused3

Maybe we will just skip Palo altogether and experience the "regular" dining on the cruise? I don't know. Part of me wants to have the Palo dinner to "celebrate" our anniversary (since this whole trip is celebrating that) but the other part of me doesn't want to miss the regular dining experience w/ the kids. Decisions Decisions!

We had a countdown chain too until, in one of her friskier moments, our goldendoodle grabbed it in her mouth and went running around the house. So our chain went kaput about 50 days ago! :dance3::dance3:

Here's a picture of our shaggy countdown canine (since then she has had her summer cut!):

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy your days in FL before our cruise! We will see you soon!

We have also had the paper chain since 100 days out. It is so fun to see how short it is now! :yay:

We decided to skip a Palo dinner this time because we wanted to have all our regular dining nights with the kids. It is hard to decide what to do on the shorter cruises. If you do have a chance to try for a night...I say go for the last night. DH and I did that one time and it was so nice walking around and just soaking it all in on that last night. We had a long dinner and then walked the decks when we were done. It was so peaceful. The down side to the last night is that you have to have all of your luggage ready and you might end up with all your nice Palo clothing stuffed in your carry on but it was my favorite night to have a Palo reservation.

We decided to skip Remy and Palo dinners too for the very same reason. I'm hoping that Palo brunch might still happen!
