Just back from picking up DD14 from 2 weeks at camp. She LOVED it and can't wait to go back next year. Made some great friends.

My parents came with me and I showed my mom the packing cubes-she may be ordering them too! DD said they worked out great for all her stuff during the 2 weeks and kept everything neat and organized.

Marsha-DCL seemed to have personalized the last paragraph, but otherwise it's the same standard reply. As of today we're still at 10:30 am and no response from DCL about my comments (I emailed when first posted too).

Thanks to all who responded with Carol's info. I've been in touch with her today and it looks like her agency can even help me beyond the cruises too. YEAH!

Jen-2 BIG suitcases!! I guess you're not shipping them down afterall Now that DD is home we can start assembling our FE goodies. I only have one small group to purchase for-preteen boys (and you'd think I'd have some inside scoop being that I have one myself, but no...) I'll see how much room they take up since we're flying Delta and I have to pay for all checked bags. Still debating shipping them.

Did I miss the plan for the embark day meet? With all the boarding time confusion, I'm not sure when we'll be on and organized. It's so much harder planning for 6 people instead of 2!

We paid by CC in most shops - but I am pretty sure that DGH paid cash at the Straw market ( love that straw BEACH-BAG with my initials on it ... added in front of us !!! ) and also in a sort of pharmacy .
Not sure about Paradise Island...

I know we need to have cash to mail stuff from Castaway Cay...in that case is it US dollars as well?

Okay....I just have to say that we finished assembling our FE gifts. I am so thankful that we are flying SW since it took TWO BIG suitcases to pack it all up!

Wow!!! That's a lot! But, the good thing about that is you'll have room on the return trip for all the souviners and FE gifts you get!

I'm almost done with my gifts and they won't take up nearly as much room... am I giving too small of a gift?

Absolutely not! Mine won't take up 2 suitcases either, if I ever actually get them done! Gifts of any size are all nice!

I was working of the gifts for 6 hours!!! And I still have 10 more to finish. DH thinks I'm a little crazy, but he likes getting the gifts once we're on the ship!

Castaway Cay post office-yes, US currency, small bills/exact change preferred. I believe the stamps are 55 cents each

If you are heading to Atlantis I'd bring a credit card, a lot of the kiosks by the pools do not accept cash-credit cards or room charge only. I'm not sure about off property, we've used credit cards primarily. I would think Straw Market would be cash only (US accepted).

Yes, we will be at CIS by Universal from the 13th - 16th. We fly into MCO around 10:30 Saturday morning. We should be checked in at CIS and heading over to Universal by the afternoon. We will be going back both Sunday and Monday.

Maybe we will see you at the parks!! If anyone going to Universal wants to have a meet, let me know!!

No, don't worry about your gift!!! Any gift is perfectly fine!! I don't think mine will take up much space either!! Of course I still need to do my gifts!!!

My DH thinks I'm crazy too, but I think the FE's are fun! Now if I can just find the time to do my gifts and get them ready to go!!!

Totally do not worry about having a gift that is too small - mine are just bulky this year. In the past, I have had small gifts that everyone loved. I just had a kind of crazy idea this year. The size of the gift does NOT indicate if it is good or bad.

Can't wait to see what you are making that takes so long! I agree....it always feels a little crazy but I love getting all the fun stuff once we are on board!

I was thinking the same thing. I've been reading the homemade FE ideas thread and seeing everything folks are giving, I'm wondering if mine are too skimpy. Hmmm.

Do NOT get too upset over the whole FE thing. I often think that when I look at the homemade FE ideas thread that people will hate what I give and in the end, I always know it is more then fine.

Seriously, my gifts this year are taking lots of room because they are bulky...very handy for the cruise sort of gifts but bulky non-the-less. It does NOT mean that I have these super gifts that are super expensive or anything. They are just kind of a cool idea sort of thing that takes up some space when I have to pack them up for everyone.

Just finished our run for the day - 10.75 miles today (a bit short of what I wanted but more then fine). I am now kind of bumming though because apparently....our air conditioner is not working. It is going to be close to 100° with high humidity for several days and we have no air. I am so sick of things breaking down on us and all these extra bills. Hopefully it is something DH and I can figure out or else we will be sucking up the heat until Monday because I am not paying for after hour service hours.

I need your opinions cruise friends! I can't decide how I should get to the port. I currently have a rental car reserved and DCL bus reservations from AKL. It's time to decide which one to use. I originally wanted to rent a car and get there early to try and score a Palo brunch reservation on board. However, my port arrival time is 12:00, so that isn't going to work anymore. Now I'm thinking about just taking the bus and saving some frustration. I would love everyone's feedback. Thanks!

BUMMER!!!!! We set a high one day this week 102!! It was hot!! Today the temp is 86, which is a little lower than our normal 90s!!
