Morning Everyone! DH and I got up early this morning and ran 16 miles. It was actually a really good run and now I am looking forward to a day on the computer doing some trip planning and relaxing a bit!

I rented with Alamo for 13 days. It is really 12 days 8 hours, but charged for 13. I have been checking everyday, using coupon codes, etc. This price is with the Insiders Club, Contract ID 7014696. The prices have gone up again. Keep checking. There are a few threads on the Transportaion link that have coupon codes to try. Most places let you reserve with out a credit card hold so there is no penalty for cancelling, I think I have 8 cars reserved right now! LOL!! I have to get all of them together so I can cancel and just keep this last one.

I need to keep checking all the different companies. You really do have a great deal for that many days. Thanks for sharing the code!

I have been off of this board since January (my how time flies) and now I have no idea what is going on for this cruise. 3 threads at over a 100 pages each is more than I can manage. Where can I find an update or summary of what is happening.

I got your PM and will send you the link. The website will help a bit. There is usually a lot of postings here on our thread on Tuesdays when Marsha posts the countdown update and I think Laura posts a summary of sorts on Fridays.

Morning Carole - I can't remember what time you can start getting off but it is pretty early. My family is planning on getting up, having breakfast and then getting off the ship. I know some people like to linger but we won't be since we will be on our way to WDW!

If all goes well disembarkation starts around 7:30 and you are supposed to be off the ship by 9:00. I always put the car service number in my cell phone and call them the morning off to let them know our status.

Occassionaly, disembarkation can be delayed so I normally request a 9:00 pick up. We leave around 8:30, that normally allows enough time to get our luggage and get through customs.

Tell the porter you are getting picked up by a car service and he will walk you to the appropriate pick up location.

Wow! I have not been on since Tuesday so I had a lot of reading to do. My laptop is out of commission for right now (due to it falling on the floor) until I get it repaired so I have to use the desktop which I have rarely used in the past two years since it is so much slower than my laptop and certainly not as portable.

So much talk about this 30 minute arrival time change! I predict that everyone will get on board and have the most excellent of times This little bump in the road will be long forgotten and I'm sure DCL will have everything running efficiently.

I agree wholeheartedly. DCL certainly should have provided notice before we were able to check-in online. It is inconvenient having to change plans and figure out what to do. But, in the grand scheme of things the change in arrival times & port opening times is only a little hiccup. Hopefully, this is the worst of what happens.

Just want to introduce myself and my family... I'm Michele (with one "L", like Kristin noted...: ) my husband is Troy, and kinda quiet, my daughter Kylie is 11 and loves horses, and my son Carter is 9. I've wanted to get on here for a while but was so busy with school stuff and organizing a walkathon in my son's honor... he has a genetic condition called Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS for short), and we've done five fundraisers in his honor... He's a great kid, very outgoing and loving. He has a speech delay and sometimes acts a little bit younger than his age, but loves making new friends (and LOVES his best girls "HopeHanna"... : ), and enjoys the same things other kids his age enjoy. Just thought I'd share this information with everyone so if any of the children in our group notice he seems "different", they can know why that is so... hope no one minds my mentioning this...
We're sooooo looking forward to meeting everyone and toasting to new friends! If anyone's kids want to email Kylie or Carter, let me know...they don't have email accounts, but can use mine! Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!

The FE's have already been assigned, but I believe there were a few people on here that wanted to do the FE that came in after we had done the cut off so there might be some interest in a 3rd group if you wanted to organize it.

I originally signed up for the FE but hadn't been on this thread for a long time until recently. Thankfully, my workload has decreased and I now have less stress in my life and have more disboard time. How can I check if I am still on it? The link/password for the website didn't work for me anymore as it had been changed. Would love to be able to catch up with everything going on.

OUR CABIN TOUR

The initial plan is
to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone.[/INDENT]This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.

At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour.


Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.
Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.
Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

As you will see, you can customize the shirts - adding text to the front or back. And you can select whatever color/style/sizes you need.
To get adult sizes, you need to select a different style. There's a hyperlink next to option 2 "Choose your style and color" that says "see all." If you click on it, it will bring up all of the styles - mens, womens, etc. The logo will be applied to whatever style you choose.
For the CC5K shirts, I used the Comic Pro font.

I finally got around to ordering magnetic paper to print out my door magnets. Had some other stuff to order off amazon -- gotta love free shipping and shopping from home!


Question for those of you who have iPads? How much do you like having them? What kinds of things are you using them for? My birthday is Tuesday -- and, I think I might be asking for one. Otherwise, I'll be putting it off for a bit longer. And, if you like it-- what kind of memory do you have and do you think it's the right amount. I've only briefly looked at them so far.


And....one more question of the day? Any idea yet what movies will be onboard?

I got the new e book passporter too. It downloads really nicely to my Nook, but on my Kindle all the photos are missing and it doesn't visualize nicely for reading. I emailed it as a PDF file to my kindle's email address. Did I do something wrong ? Any advise since you have a kindle ?
I was also going to put it on my phones SD card, since it's in color there.

Can you share how much it was? I have an iPad with the Kindle and Nook app on it. I am not sure how it works to go from the Nook to the Kindle devices though so I can't help you out there.

How much is the e book?

I have the paper one on hold at bn.com for I think $15, but it never shipped because they changed their shipping date. If the paper book isn't coming out until after the cruise, there is no reason to buy it.

I already have the 2010 version in my Deluxe binder (have another binder for my WDW book!) and with the print version coming out sometime in August I thought it was fine for me to just have the electronic version.

You can order the spiral version, deluxe binder, deluxe refill or just the electronic version. If you by any of the printed versions FROM THEIR WEBSITE...you get the electronic version for free.

There are tons of discount codes available...if you sign up for their newsletter that will give you 20% off. I am a "club" member so I get 35% off.

The electronic version of the book is a PDF. To get it on my Kindle I just pulled the plug off the charging cord and connected it by USB to my computer...then I just dragged the PDF file over to the documents folder on the Kindle. Easy Peasy!

The text is NOT adjustable on the Kindle but I find I can read it okay....and I really like that I can print out any pages I want to!

So after me obsessing yesterday over what my kids would eat on Castaway Cay?... I tell dh last night the plan of ordering Uncrustables from room service for the kids and he said no!

Told me they could eat breakfast and then eat whatever was there ...if not they could wait until we got back on the ship.

He thinks if they are hungry enough they will actually try something new. I'm not sure about that (the kids are as stubborn as their parents!) but we'll see!

Hi Guys thank you so much for thinking about us, it is really appreciated. Right my MIL has been discharged again from the hospital as there is no more they can do at present as it is a case of waiting for her immune and digestive system to get back on track after such a major op. SO all we can do is wait and pray. Its hard seeing her so poorly, but we have faith that she will improve and get stronger.

Some good news that we have heard this week is it seems the airline - virgin, that we booked our flights with have announced that they will not go on strike - After everything we've gone through recently a strike would have been the final straw!!

I have been lurking quite a bit this week and I have had to laugh at all the 'shopping talk'. When I'm stressed I love to shop - its my kinda therapy - well I have shopped for England this week and bought lots of new out fits especially for this holiday. I sooooo need this holiday I cant tell you.

You'll be able to recognise me at the port - I'll be the one who is probably crying as I know for a fact as soon as I see the ship I'll be blubbering - and if thats bad i really let go when I hear the horn - Dave tries to ignore me as I blubber away
