Rough day here yesterday. My parents are in vacation in Williamsburg, VA. My mom had to take my dad to the ER for chest-pains yesterday and he threw-up too!! He has been admitted to the hospital. My brother is on vacation in Florida right now and I am here in CT. My dad is having a non-stress test today. So hopefully we will know more. We all want him to come home and be here. They have there car down there 10 hours away from home. So I might be having to fly down to get their car. But first and foremost I want my daddy to be ok...So I might not be on here much in the next few days!!

Sorry to hear about your Dad !! So worrying , especially because they are far away !!
Let us know what the test says today ; I'll pray that it's nothing serious and that soon they will be home with you !!!
Sending lots of PD :tinker: and positive thoughts your way .

laura

The 17 year old girl who was killed in the pharmacy shooting was a student of mine. Just heard that they have arrested the person who they believe, very strongly, shot those four people.
Things like this make me more thankful than ever for everything - Especially being able to take a much needed Disney Cruise in a few weeks.

So sad !!
and you are right : we HAVE to feel grateful for every little day-by-day "moment" we get ! laura

Hey everyone...
Things are starting to finally slow down here... My students have 3 more school days, then we work an additional 3... so summer is starting here soon!

Phillip (the 8 yr old - today!) is wondering if there are other 7-9 yr old boys that might want to email a few times before we set out...

Sarah was excited to receive an email last night from a another cruiser!

Do you guys remember how long before the cruise the documents come out? We are heading to Florida on August 6, so are not sure if we will get them in time.

Have been busy thinking about the FE's and have lots of ideas... just need the postal strike to be over so we can get the supplies we need from the US :)

Hi everyone. Have you guys made door signs yet? I have discovered all the ones I have before are dated 2008. I don't see hardly any cruise signs on the DISsigns board. Have you guys had much luck?

Thanks!

Almost time to celebrate summer for you! :cool1:

I don't remember when the cruise documents were sent out last time we cruised but I remember we had them in plenty of time for us to leave for WDW - we were at WDW 10 days before our cruise last time.

Hey Erika -
Door signs is on my list of things to do but I haven't even started looking yet. Sounds like you are getting on all those pre-cruise plans!

Just so you know...Carol told me that she could take care of getting the request in for us to be at the same dining table once I let her know that concierge was able to link me to Kristin. Hopefully it will all work out!

Thank you Laura and Jen - it's just all so surreal at this point.
Hopefully, once school is out, I'll be able to join everyone here on the board for the planning wrap-up. :flower3:

Kristin -

I am sending pixie dust and lots of hugs. Hopefully your Dad will be alright and home soon.

I pulled out mine as well and have to redo some of them. Does anyone know where to get inexpensive magnetic printer paper?

Janeanne - Here is the CHEAP way that I did our door magnets....

1. Print it out and trim it as you want it.
2. I used clear shelf paper to act as a laminate and covered the front and back of the print out.
3. I bought a roll/strip of magnet and then cut it into pieces.
4. Put 4 small cut pieces of magnet on the back and voila....cheap, easy door magnets! :goodvibes

Even cheaper is to use the promotional magnets you get in the mail - you know the business card type ones. Cut them up into little pieces/strips and glue to the back of the door signs. When I read that one somewhere, it was a D'OH! why-didn't-I-think-of-that moment.

Hi everyone!

I am a bit late coming to this party but I just found this thread and have been making my way (slowly) through all of the posts. My family and I will also be sailing on the Aug. 16 cruise and can't wait! :yay:

This will be our very first cruise and I can't thank everyone enough for all of the info here on the boards. My family is my DH, my DD who is 7, and my DS who is 3. Every day my DS asks "do we go on the ship today?" We hail from Eastern Ontario, Canada and will be driving down.

Hard to believe we are almost there - we booked way back in Nov. 2009 - and now it's almost here! :cool1:

Anyways - just thought I would stop by and introduce myself - maybe we will see you in August! :goodvibes

:welcome: Welcome to the Group!

We booked in 2009 as well so we can't wait for the trip to get here! Feel free to ask questions or join in the discussions!

If you want access to our cruise web site to learn more about the trip and who is sailing, feel free to send me a PM and I can get you the information.

Jen :)

Can anyone help me out. I would like to get some more information on the fish extenders . I am hoping it is not too late to participate. If there is anyone out there who is willing to include us let me know. My family (DH, DS-14, DD-11 & me) would really appreciate it.

Oh, I am so sorry. I just saw the story on the news this morning. You are so right. Every day we have to be thankful and take nothing for granted.

I buy my magnetic paper from Amazon.

Great idea. :thumbsup2

WELCOME MERMAIDMUSE. Hope to see you soon.

Kristen I hope that your father's stress test was negative and his chest pain has resolved.:wizard: Hopefully if all is good, looking on the bright side, the cruise will provide your parents with some rest. Where else can we get waited upon hand and foot. We don't have to cook, clean, make up our beds, make our own entertainment or do any chores. Plus we have the daily fresh sea air to relax in. I wish your family all the best.:grouphug:

Magnetic paper for the home made magnets I purchased from staples or on line from Amazon.
