The 17 year old girl who was killed in the pharmacy shooting was a student of mine. Just heard that they have arrested the person who they believe, very strongly, shot those four people.
Things like this make me more thankful than ever for everything - Especially being able to take a much needed Disney Cruise in a few weeks.

This has had us all in a state of disbelief. So sorry about your student, this is just so sad. Our prayers are with the victims families, that they can somehow get through this awful tragedy.

Hi everyone!

I am a bit late coming to this party but I just found this thread and have been making my way (slowly) through all of the posts. My family and I will also be sailing on the Aug. 16 cruise and can't wait!

This will be our very first cruise and I can't thank everyone enough for all of the info here on the boards. My family is my DH, my DD who is 7, and my DS who is 3. Every day my DS asks "do we go on the ship today?" We hail from Eastern Ontario, Canada and will be driving down.

Hard to believe we are almost there - we booked way back in Nov. 2009 - and now it's almost here!

Anyways - just thought I would stop by and introduce myself - maybe we will see you in August!

Planning is in full swing, We will be leaving for our pre cruise adventure in 7 weeks from today! Wow!

School is finally done for my kids. Yesterday was their last day. I told them that everyone was required to sleep late today and not to get out of bed before noon.....I was soooo looking forward to sleeping late (I have to be up at 4:30am on the days I work) and then the dog wakes me up at 530 this morning! Not very happy with the dog today!

I came by to say hi many months ago but have been quiet ever since, so maybe I should reintroduce myself. We had a lot stressful situations here and weren't sure if we were going to have to rebook this for next year but in the end we decided we needed - nay, "deserved" - to cruise this year and charged it, lol.

It'll be myself, my DH and my 7.5 yr old son. I saw another cruiser here with an 8 yr old looking for pen pals and my son is definitely interested! I will send a PM.

I had also volunteered for FEs and, while trying to catch up, I saw there had been a deadline that has since passed. So I'm not sure if I'm on that list since I never came back to confirm. Also I had been given a password to a website that now doesn't work... I feel so out of the loop, lol.


This will be our 5th cruise and can't wait to see the Dream. It's been rainy here for a couple of days so have spent a lot of free time pouring over TRs. Can't believe its only a couple months away!

OUR CABIN TOUR

The initial plan is to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone.
This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.

At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour.


Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.
Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.
Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

As you will see, you can customize the shirts - adding text to the front or back. And you can select whatever color/style/sizes you need.
To get adult sizes, you need to select a different style. There's a hyperlink next to option 2 "Choose your style and color" that says "see all." If you click on it, it will bring up all of the styles - mens, womens, etc. The logo will be applied to whatever style you choose.

Hello all!!
It has been a little busy around here! Not only am I planning for girls camp and the cruise a week later, but I also have started planning for my DD wedding!
And this last weekend I was asked to help plan a weekend long youth activity in our church in July. So I have been going to lots of meetings. Had one Sat, last night, tonight, and another on Sunday night. We are then going back to AZ to take my DD shopping for wedding dresses!
The good news is I just ordered the last of my FE gifts!!

Lisa, I'm so sorry about the death of your student. What a terrible tragedy! I'm a teacher too and I can't even imagine.

Summer is in full swing here, except the weather isn't really coopertating. We spent the first 3 days of summer at WDW for Star Wars Weekend. My 8 year old DS loved it! Now that we are home the kids are super busy with actvities.

We got our room assignment. We booked an 11C GTY and we got an 11C cabin, I'm excited about the virtual porthole. We've never done an inside cabin before.

Ohh my gosh how terrible!!

We had a second grade teacher die unexpeditly this year and that was just terrible she was just 31 can not imagine a student!!

Hey everyone...
Things are starting to finally slow down here... My students have 3 more school days, then we work an additional 3... so summer is starting here soon!

Phillip (the 8 yr old - today!) is wondering if there are other 7-9 yr old boys that might want to email a few times before we set out...

Sarah was excited to receive an email last night from a another cruiser!

Do you guys remember how long before the cruise the documents come out? We are heading to Florida on August 6, so are not sure if we will get them in time.

Have been busy thinking about the FE's and have lots of ideas... just need the postal strike to be over so we can get the supplies we need from the US

If you booked with a TA just let them know your leaving on the 6th they should be able to get them to you in enough time!!
