If anyone has any experience dropping off a car at Budget and then getting over to the Port (shuttle, taxi?) I would love to hear your advice. I need all the help I can get! Melissa

Me too! We'll be doing this for the 1st time this trip. It seems to offer better options for us this time (cheaper & on our own schedule). I may still price out a town car.

Also, I just called DCL to confirm dinning rotations and the agent confirmed that because we are departing on a Tuesday that restaurants repeat on nights 1 and 5 and 3 and 4 as was originally reported. I know the Navigators from the first double dip threw some of us for a loop!

Thanks... I think I will be trying for Palo on night 5 figuring that we won't miss any of the regular dinners in the restaurants or Pirate Night w/ the kids.

Dh doesn't know that I am going to try and book brunch too!

Of course neither were available when I could reserve them for the first time on Tuesday so it depends on what I can do when we get onboard!

There can be some issues with renting a car and driving it to the Port Canveral area.

1. You some times can get charged extra for picking a car up in one location and dropping it off in another.

2. I like to have a physical inspection of the car done while I am at the rental car location which means the drop off process is rarely quick.

3. The shuttles are normally done on a first come, first serve basis. The lines can be long so getting to port can take awhile depending on how busy the rental center is and how much luggage you have.

I would prefer a car service to take me straight to the port, but this is not an absolute since the amount of people and luggage can sometimes not make this feasible moneywise.

I would love to be in a position to take a towncar, but since it's just me I just can't justify the cost. I already know that I'm not being charged extra for a one way rental, I read through all the fine print on my reservation confirmation.

My guess is you are dropping off at 8401 Astronaut Blvd, Cape Canveral. They are open at 8 AM. Depending on your schedule you could get there in the 8ish hour and make to the port when it opens.

My dh returned the car while we got in line last time, and he was back in time to be with me at the check in counter.

Went for a tour today of my DD14 summer camp-WOW!!! She's not going to want to come home. First time going away for 2 weeks and she is super excited, even more so after today.

Car rental/port arrival: We are traveling with 5 families so this is going to be tricky for us. Right now I think I'm the only one with an actual car reservation (Dollar). I might take a route I've never tried before and have DH drop us at port, return car and return on Dollar shuttle. Might work best for the other families too since they have 5 and 6 people, we'd never get a shuttle together. I'm an early port arriver and have been at car returns by 9 am and on their first shuttles over to the port and waiting at the curb for the gates and porters to open.

No real plans. Went to the ortho. yesterday and I am having an MRI of my ankle/foot on Monday and then back to him on Wed. afternoon. He is thinking I might need surgery on my ankle!!

No races lately - a 5K coming up in 2 weeks. It's an evening race so hopefully it will be cooler. My back has been giving problems the last two weeks though - trying to shake that off.

A day of cruise/vacation shopping is thankfully over!! Spent most of the day at the King of Prussia Mall and Philadelphia shopping outlets... I think we've done our part to stimulate the American economy today

Hello all!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!! We are here in Scottsdale, Arizona and it was 106 today!! It is suppose to cool down 100 tomorrow. Too hot for me!! I would love to spend time out by the pool and go swimming but I forgot to pack swim suits!! UGH!! I think we will go shopping and see if I can find some.

Kristin, I hope your MRI goes well and you don't need surgery!

Erika, what color are you looking for? I might be able to check out the Disney outlet over here for ya!
