Hi

Not sure if I imagined it but did someone have a discount code or an idea where a friend of mine can get a good rate for 2-3 nights stopping at a universal studios hotel.

They are going to Miami in Aug for a week then driving to orlando. they want to spend time at Universal and know you can get in early if you stop at one of the hotels. They are looking for a couple of nights end of Aug.

Any help greatly appreciated x Thanks:confused:

Hi,

No real plans. Went to the ortho. yesterday and I am having an MRI of my ankle/foot on Monday and then back to him on Wed. afternoon. He is thinking I might need surgery on my ankle!!

 Here's hoping that you can completely heal before the cruise !!!
Are you in huge pain ? Maybe :confused3 you have been walking too much on your poor ankle ...

Be sure to do EXACTLY whatever the doctor tells you !!

Sending PD your way :tinker::tinker::tinker:

laura

Helen, thank you for making me smile, love those doggies!!!

Ooooh champagne tasting, now your talking! And I will spend $20 for a glass, but only on a cruise LOL. Or at WDW. I often get a glass or two of Fairy Tale at $12 a pop.

Try the Universal Boards here for hotel info. They have no deals around our cruise, but I think the rates drop significantly for the end of August.

As far as I know , if you stay at one of the onsite hotels YOU SKIP ALL LINES for the attractions !!! :woohoo:
To us this has always been a BIG perk - so we happily pay a bit more for the hotel rate ( many nearby hotels are beautiful and cheaper , but we always choose Royal Pacific , which allows us to enter any attraction without any wait !!! Think of FASTPASS ... ).

LOVED the photos of your dogs !!!

Happy Saturday everyone !!! laura :grouphug:

I saw this earlier, but I have a feeling that our fourth and fifth nights are going to be the restaurant "double" nights on the cruises that leave on Tuesdays. Because for them, night 3 was Nassau night, so it was pirate night (and a "double"). For us, night 4 will be Nassau, so it will probably be pirate night. So I think that night will be a double instead of night 3. Does that make sense?

Of course that might be completely wrong, but just my thoughts.

The original thought was same restaurant nights 1 & 5, 3 & 4 and night 2 wouldn't double. I guess we'll have to wait and see...:confused3

That sucks. Do you think it's a surgery you'll need now that will heal quickly or can it wait until after the cruise?

It really does suck!! Not sure how long it will take to heal....

Thanks! Bella is getting so big! Thanks for sharing the photos!

Wait... according to the navigator, we DON'T have to wear/bring the life jacket to the drill? :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay::yay: My family will be SO happy!!!!!

I'm now convinced now more than ever that 5 days is not long enough to do it all! I'm starting to stress with my lack of planning. Gotta get on that.

5 days is totally not long enough to do it all!

While we are all thrilled not to have to wear the life jackets for the drill...I am going to miss the silly life jacket drill photos! :rotfl:

Happy SUNDAY all !!

Good luck and HAVE FUN to those who will be having recitals , a race or a trip !!

and still marking  my older students last composition ( ONLY 25+25 to go !!)

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED FOR OUR CABIN TOURS

Hi Everyone

A number of people have concerns and questions about our cabin tour.
Hopefully if every thing goes as planned it should work out.
I was on the Dream in April for the 4 day special double dip in Castaway Cay.
I did get a chance to do a cabin tour and managed to save the 1st day Navigator which I'm using as a reference.
The initial plan is to meet at 2-2.30pm on the ship on deck 13 forward in the family zone. This could be part of a general Dis group meet and greet if anyone is thinking of organizing one.
At 2.30p sharp we head off to tour the cabins which hopefully should be done in about an hour.
The selection of cabins will be narrowed down to those that are somewhat signficantly different from each other, so that we are not seeing duplicates.

Those who are showing, would be the Disers who volunteered their cabins to viewed.

Those who are touring will be the tourists travelling to view the volunteered cabins.

Those who want to do both will come along on the tour to see the other cabins and when we reach their cabin hopefully they will open the door so we can see theirs also.

The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm. You still have time to enjoy yourself.

Good point. The lifeboat drill takes place at 4pm.
The sailaway party takes place at 4.30pm.
Hopefully as long as we don't linger too long during our tour we should be done to give everyone enough time to meet back at their cabins to pick up the rest of their family for 4pm.

I believe they start boarding the ship around 12pm??
As long as we all get to port by 10am, we should be able to be on board before 1p. There was a DCL Ship tour that met at the Port Adventures Desk at 1pm. There is also a Spa tour at this time.
When I got on the Dream in April we got on really late. So we dropped off my DM in Cabanas the buffet restaurant, went on a tour, then picked her up an hour later. Since we had missed the scheduled Spa tour when we went there at 5pm after the sailaway party, it was quiet and they gladly gave us our own little private tour of the Spa, salon and fitness center.
There's alot of activities that overlap for you to to have a choice. Some do get repeated on another day.

If anyone has any other questions or concerns or ideas to help this tour work please let me know.

Brenda

Anyone interested should PM me their requests as to be a tourist or show their cabin. Concierge and suite guests are welcome also. There is still time to sign up.
Thanks Brenda

I can't believe how big Bella has gotten. I always love the doggie pics you share. :goodvibes

The in-laws checked in today and they got a 12:00 - 12:30pm arrival time. So, the times are slowly getting later now...

Katerina was so excited this morning, she came running into the dining room yelling, "I have a wiggler". It took me a moment to realize what she was talking about. Her tooth is loose. It's her first one and she is so excited! :)

What kind of staterooms are still "missing" in our tour ?

I checked in on June 2 and it was 11-11:30 at that time. A few days later it's moved 30 min.

So cuteon the tooth. My kindergartener said something similar to me 2 days ago. His very first loose tooth. Still there so far!

School is out here in our school district in Texas. We've been out a week. Right now DD (11) is in route to a one week Church camp.

Listening to everyone's plans for embarkation day has made me rethink my plans to take Disney transportation from Animal Kingdom Lodge. I just couldn't stand the idea of getting to the Port that late, so I broke down and rented a car!

If anyone has any experience dropping off a car at Budget and then getting over to the Port (shuttle, taxi?) I would love to hear your advice. I need all the help I can get!

Hope everyone is enjoying your Sunday!

Melissa

Also, I just called DCL to confirm dinning rotations and the agent confirmed that because we are departing on a Tuesday that restaurants repeat on nights 1 and 5 and 3 and 4 as was originally reported. I know the Navigators from the first double dip threw some of us for a loop!

Melissa

How's it goin' otherwise?!

Going ok. How about you?

The pool is warm about 90 degress now. So that makes me VERY Happy...Will be more happy once school is over.

Run any races lately??

You sure you don't want to the FE? We have room in our group for one more now!!
