Just a quick hello to everybody, I haven't been able to be around much in the forum, but all is running smooth, got documents, fe gifts (thank you to the ones sending lists!) cruise shopping and all...just posted a question about the "beer buckets" packages, and waiting for replies in the trip reports. My FIL is very sick and is nearing the end of his life. He has had Alzheimer's and he has been in bed ridden for a few years now. The hospice people said that he could go any day now. He has no quality of life and hasn't for quite a long time. We just don't want him to suffer anymore! We really need prayers right now for it to happen sooner than later. Thanks so much!

How many people are booked with Carol and are signed up for the Cabin Tour?? She is in the process of organizing a "surprise" for us and the time may conflict with the tour!!

I'm with Carol too. Not sure about the cabin tour -- I need to figure the timing out - especially, due to that port arrival time. Ours is 12:30.

You have the right approach to your FIL situation, we tend to be a little "selfish" and want the person here with us in bones and flesh, regardless of the circunstances. He will still be with you guys, watching over from Heaven and just waiting for you to "get home" soon! your family will be in our prayers, we'll meet soon.

That was beautifully said and I was just saying the same thing to one of my co-workers the other day. I am a nurse case manager and for the last month I have watched one of my patients suffer because her husband was not ready to let us initiate hospice.

I am so sorry to hear about your FIL. My dad passed away of a brain tumor not even a month ago. We took him down to the beach for the weekend knowing his time was near. I know how hard it is. Love and prayers to you and your family.

We are staying at Jambo House , AKL has become over the years our favorite resort !!!
Our friends were at Kidani last Summer : ABSOLUTELY loved it there !!
Ourselves we like very much Sanaa , will be there for dinner also this August.

I guess DGH will have to use their "business area" for some work - on vacation ...

Ok. My excitement level for the cruise has now been upped a couple hundred percent (is that even possible?). I have officially started my pre-cruise planning/packing. I have a couple of friends that are working onboard the ship (in various capacities). I am going to put together care packages for each of them, and I just got back from the Dollar Store with some supplies. I've also started thinking ahead of exactly what outfits I'm bringing. Anyone think I'm too crazy for planning their care packages early? Or thinking about all of the outfits I want to bring? I think our documents have arrived too. Thoughts?

It is definitely not too early to start packing. I have stuff that I need to pack on the bed in our guestroom. And, you are not crazy for thinking about your friends and planning for their care packages. How thoughtful of you!

I am hoping I could ask for a small favor.

Our friends that our cruising with us have had a rough night. I got a call tonight from my friend that her husband had been brought by rescue to the ER for chest pain.

Her hubby has a heart condition, so, they've decided to keep him and perform a catherization tomorrow (so long as they can get him on the schedule). The doctor did say that he did not have a heart attack, but they want to perform the catherization to check for blockages. He is resting comfortably, but it is very nerve racking for all.

They are all so very excited for this trip! I tried to be as supportive as I can and told her that it would be okay.

Could I ask you all to send a little pixie dust (and a prayer, too, if you can) for the family, so that her DH is better soon and will get the all clear for this trip?

They are great people and I wish them only the best. Thank you for reading!

You're not alone. I had already starting working on our clothing lists but now have had to stop since the accident. Now, I have to wait for DH's help to pack. He looked like a deer in headlights since I told him he would have to do the majority of the packing. He's never had to do that before. Who knows how many suitcases we will end up with.

I am sure your DH will be fine with you overseeing his packing. How are you doing?

Hello Everyone!

I've been gone for a while and finally caught up reading way too many pages! Things have been a bit rough lately. My husband sprained his ankle badly about a month ago and is finally now better. My aunt had a brain aneurism and needed to have surgery and has been in the the ICU for about 3 weeks. She was finally moved about of the ICU this past weekend and seems to be doing better. Thank God. Any prayers you could send her way would be much appreciated. Needless to say, its been a stressful few weeks.

We are finally done with school and I am done working my second job so I now finally have time to dedicate to cruise planning and catching up with everyone.

I'll go to centre town tomorrow - and will light a candle for you dear FIL in our cathedral church ! I visit there any time I have a special prayer .
