Hi everyone,

I just thought I would drop in and say Hi,. My family and I are joing this cruise. I am so excited to sail the Dream, but am a bit wooried about the 5 days. That hardly seems like enough time.

We have done 6 cruises on the Magic (all 7 days or more) and will be sailing the Wonder for the first time this June in Alaska. Still planning everything there. The kids are excited to go back to Castaway Cay (been away for the last 3 cruises (MED, MR & Baltic).

Sailing with me will be my dad Jim, my husband Chris (Christopher Robin <-- real name I love it and I am such a Pooh fan) and my daughters Samantha & Allison (12 & 7 time of sailing).

I hope everyone is doing great especially with the cold fronts we have been having the last few weeks. Makes me want to set sail even sooner =).

Julie

Welcome Welcome!!!! I am also looking forward to Castaway Cay!!

Welcome aboard!! Christopher Robin, that is soooooooooo cool!

We are actually having warm weather right now, for the first time in months!! I know it won't last, but I am loving going out without the coat for awhile.

Erika, there are nice couches, and loungers outside the Quiet Cove to get together and chat at night......

I would like to know how Harry Potter is!!

We went back to Orlando for Thanksgiving and had 1 day to visit the parks. My kids opted for Universal instead of Disney (the older one (11) really wanted to see the Harry Potter part). It was super crowded but a lot of fun. The park was very well done the details were very nice. Hogwart's castle was amazing. We ended up spending all day there, but I think that is just because they were so busy. There were lines to get into the shops :confused3 We waited 2 1/2 hrs to go into the castle. I found out later that you could just walk through the castle and not ride the ride. No line there. We did this later to show my 6 year old and my father the castle as they spent the day in other parts of the park. Turns out when we finished the "walk through" of the castle the Cast Members were going to allow us to ride the ride too ... we opted not too, my older daughter did not care for it too much and I thought that was completely unfair to everyone waiting patiently in line.

Overall the HP portion is somewhat small the castle, a few rides and a few shops. Not much to make you want to go back over and over again, but it was definetly worth seeing at least once. I think I might like to explore the area when it wasn't so crowded though, just to be able to appreciate all the small details taht went into the park.

I will keep your friends father in my thoughts and prayers!!

:cloud9: WE do like sooo much Boma too !! That fruit juice ( ? frunch ? ) you get with your breakfast is DELICIOUS !!!!
My DH really likes the juice. I do too. Last time we were there, he said it was not as sweet which is fine with me. I could not tell the difference.

Here's hoping that your friend can join us ! I'll keep her and her father in my thoughts , that's really a very hard situation .

laura :goodvibes

I'm so sorry about your friend's father Marsha!! I will also keep them in our prayers!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts & prayers. I am hoping she will be able to join us. Her DS is so excited about the cruise. That is all he talks about when he sees me.

Evening everyone - life has been really busy so I am sorry I have missed so many posts. I did go back and read all of it though. Several comments....

WELCOME to the new families! It is great to have people checking in.

ICEMAN - Thanks for being open and upfront about the other thread. I understand that you guys have cruised together and have reasons for why you started your thread.

I will say to the whole group that I am a bit uncomfortable being in charge of our website at this point. It has nothing to do with the work. It is more to do with the fact that with all the separate threads, I feel conflicted. I have read through all of the other threads that are running. I will admit that in one of the threads, I do feel that there are offensive comments made.

I really am not sure what to do about the website at this point. In some ways I feel it should be open to everyone and in other ways, I feel like I don't feel like maintaining a site where some people feel that some of us on this thread have "sappy, sticky, sweet fakeness".

I am just being honest about it all and hope that no one is offended by that. I have always loved being a part of a group that plans a wonderful vacation together and I am just a bit baffled by how to be the keeper of the website when we have all of this going on.

That being said....I feel totally fortunate to have made such wonderful friends from our past cruise that are here with me again. I feel lucky to have "met" so many new wonderful people. I hope that this just resolves itself but for now...the website is going to sit "as is" for a couple of weeks (I am going to Disney and won't be around anyways).

I will be leaving on Tuesday for an incredible WDW vacation with Jude's family and will run the Princess Half on the 27th.

Have a great couple of weeks everyone.
Jen

Not offended here... blah blah blah... :rotfl2:

Jen - My family truly appreciates the time & effort you put into maintaining the website and hope that you continue to do so. Yes, there are two other threads going (at least that I have seen), but I agree with you and hope that it will all resolve itself. How's that for sweet fakeness?!

Just got in from Tim's swim practice... catching up on some emails... and then going to watch Tosh.0 (I'm such a juvenile :rotfl:)....

Another busy night for you....

I am watching The Good Wife!!

Like I said, we don't want to offend anyone ...it's just that posts on FB go into group, but also appear on your own pages and get some pretty odd comments from the rest of your friends who have no idea what all the disboards abbreviations mean...anyway, I will likely continue to cross post..

Chuck:cool1:

Not offended here. I appreciate your honesty. You are all very welcome to post on this thread and we would love for you to be a part of any activity planned.
I personnally only know a couple of people that are on this cruise, but I am looking forward to meeting others and making new friends.
I hope that no one in your group feels unwelcome or out of place here. My thought is the more the merrier.
Looking forward to meeting and getting to know all who post. :goodvibes

I was on the (non-since we got re routed)Tortola treasure seekers cruise with several of the Diser's on here, but I'm looking forward to getting to know the rest of the people who post. Like Candy said the more the merrier! I hope the people on the other thread people post here too.:)

OH boy, 26 weeks, I better get cracking on my planning!!!!!!!!!!! Now that my last Disney trip is done, maybe I can find time.
But doing Universal is a whole new thing too, it's like planning two brand new trips at once!!!

We are doing Universal too! We are going the 12-15 and staying at the Hard Rock. We've been to Universal before, but it was before DS was born and we've never stayed onsite. Have you been over to the Universal thread? There is some good info over there. I've just started planning that part of the trip. What days are you going to be there? I think I remember reading that you are going to be there at the same time as us.

I am getting so excited! :cheer2::cool1::cheer2: Everyone seems to be in planning mode. I have booked my pre-cruise ADRs. We always do breakfast at Boma's when we stay at WDW and we will be having dinner at 'Ohana's. Yum, yum yummy!

I am hoping that our friends will be able to join us. It is iffy right now because our friend just found out that her father's chemotherapy is not working. So, if he gets worse she does not want to leave which is totally understandable. We are keeping her and her family in our prayers and know that all will work out in the end.

Hugs and prayers to your friend and her family.

LOL, I am having this same conversation with your hubby right now! Right now we are at CIS at the port. Not sure if that's going to be our final choice, but I wanted to at least have something booked.

Jen, have a great time @ Disney!!! Good luck on the race!
Thanks for all that you have done on the website! I wasn't aware there were other threads for our cruise until tonight when I was getting caught up on this thread. I haven't read through all the posts on them, but I do hope that they feel free to post on this thread as well. Hopefully, it will work out.

Jen , I'm so sorry about all of this !!
I have no time to go and read other threads - but , even if I had more free time on my hands , I positively am NOT interested in "talking" with someone who thinks that some of us HERE have sappy , sticky , sweet fakeness .

Maybe my :rotfl2: colourful posts ?? :lmao:

Just a question : Why should someone want to post on here ... if he /she has such a "sad" consideration :headache: about this thread itself ???
:confused3 Cannot understand !!!

Of course everyone is more than welcome to post on here - if he / she appreciate THIS group !!! :grouphug: the way it is !!!
