I just got our room assignment for our NYE cruise and we got an upgrade to a Cat.9 Delux Oceanview! I'm so excited, I've never gotten an upgrade on any of the cruises we've been on, so yea us! Just thought I'd share my little bit of excitement for the day.
congratulations on the up grade :thumbsup2

We had friends on this cruise. They said it was still a great cruise and that Disney handled it all beautifully. The worse thing for them was that they had to rent a car to drive from FL back to MN....through a few snow storms.

Saw on the weather map that you guys may be getting some of the white stuff this weekend?!?

For a second there I thought you were talking to me. I had a temporary freak out! I would be happy if it only snowed for an hour on christmas morning so we could open presents and then go out and play and then it would melt the next day. :goodvibes No more years like last year!!

Good for you! That is great news!

Yep, we had temps in the 70s this week and now it is so cold and gray....you can feel the snow coming! DH and I are going to try and get out for a quick run tonight before it starts flying!!!

I am close to this...if it could snow the day after Thanksgiving when we go cut our tree, December 18th for my wedding anniversary and then on Christmas I would be so happy! Then, it can melt quickly! It actually is not so much even the snow that bothers me but the totally frigid temperatures we get here that last for days and weeks on end.

I am THRILLED to have a February WDW trip planned for this winter! :woohoo:

I agree - last year was plenty!! Going to be nice in our part of the USA this weekend though - 60s here - perhaps a tad warmer for you guys?

Lets hope that this year is much less snow...................

Bruce, is going to put the Christmas lights outside this weekend, so he is not out there in a few weeks in the freezing cold putting them up. We are not going to turn them on but at least they will be up!!:):thumbsup2

That's funny - I'm doing the same thing this weekend! Many a November I've risked life and limb climbing around on the roof in windy, miserable weather! 65+ degrees and bright sunshine this weekend means an early XMAS set-up here!!

Are you going to turn your lights on?? The kids want Bruce to go out and get more stuff for the yard. He keeps telling them that he will have to see....It is never enough for the kids!!

We won't turn them on for a couple of weeks. My kids want me to do one of those synchronized light/music houses!!! :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh that would be funny.........Never fail the kids get soo excited and it is never enough lights for them!!

Morning Everyone! Today's plans: get a run in, put up the last of the Christmas lights and a few other things.

Today's reality:

The snow is thick in the streets....we will not be running until there are enough tracks in the street to run on or they actually plow them.

The snow is thick on the house and trees so the lights will not be going up either.

Ben just tried on his snow boots to go outside and they are too small so I guess we are going to find some new boots.

Ben just went and measured the snow in our yard....4 inches and still snowing hard.

Happy Saturday everyone!

We have a teeny tiny yard with one Thomas the Tank Engine inflatable. We have room for one more and I'm holding out for a Disney snow globe with ears (I saw one a few years ago and can't find one to buy!!) or something equally as cool and Disney themed.

Ds' bday is 12/4 so we try to separate his bday from Christmas by not decorating until AFTER. So nothing will go up until the weekend of the 10/11/12.

That's so funny because the day after Halloween we found one of those synchronized light/music things to plug all our lights into and it was half price so we got it. Our house is going to be the one blinking to the tune of Jingle Bells this year! :rotfl:

OMG Jen, that is crazy! I think I would die if that white stuff started that early around here! I just got my new storm doors installed this morning and we're enjoying the warm weather by opening up the screens. I'll send you some warm weather so that stuff will melt soon.

I had that snowglobe with ears. It lasted one season. The fan fried (actually the fan fried before the season even started) and the clear plastic did not hold up at all to snow and cold. I loved it, but it wasn't durable at all.

Well that makes me feel a little better.

I Need to do some serious research and find something good.

I took Beth (9yo dd) on a field trip to the new Disney store down in Cherry Hill, NJ. It is about an hour away (a little less if I didn't keep taking the wrong forks in the roads!).

Really nice...huge "jukebox" video screen, coloring area for kids, Custom Cars vehicle station (a la build a light saber, just more $$$)...but all the same merchandise as a regular store, which was a bit disappointing.

So it was worth the trip but I don't think I would go out of my way to go there with any regularity....especially since there are regular stores 5 min from where I work and 10min from where I live.

I am still interested in seeing the new store in Times Square though!

I did take advantage of the 20% off friends and family sale while I was there and picked up some tshirts for August! ;)

AWESOME, pictures of the Dream. We have a friend who is a CM for DCL and she is headed over soon to be on the Dream as it makes its way to PC. I can't wait to hear from her while she is onboard. She will be a CM On the Dream begining in Jan. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We also hit the Cherry Hill store this weekend (though it's only 20 mins. for us). Nothing spectacular or unique (other than they actually OPENED a Disney Store instead of closing one!). I was in NYC last week also, went past the new store, but it was too crowded and I was short on time to go in for a sneak peak. The whole family is headed in NYC the weekend after Thanksgiving so we'll check it out then.
