Whats happen to the question of the Week ????
OK so I'll post one

What are your plans for our Nassus Day ?

DW wants to quickly get off and do some shopping - that's a given anywhere we go!! Other than that, at this point, we'll probably stay onboard and enjoy the Dream :)

With regards to luggage its pretty much the same as we have always found the porters at the terminal to be great:thumbsup2 and they have helped with the luggage when getting a town car.

The DCL porters are unbelievable! We have found them to incredibly helpful loading and unloading!

To date our longest trip is only 10hrs so 18hrs will be a bit more of a challenge, but the kids are troopers and travel well (as long as dd pulls her head away from her DS once in a while and doesn't get car sick!) so it should be quite the adventure! :drive::car:

Not sure where you are in relation to us (Jersey side of the Delaware from Philly), but we've done the "drive" on a few occasions. We generally fly (also did the auto train once), but it usually comes down to things that you mention - the logistics of it all. Even if we fly we always rent a car, but with a cruise that becomes another planning adventure.

At this point, we're undecided on our mode of travel. Driving I95 from our area has its challenges. The worst part, in my opinion, is the drive back.... YUCK!!! No anticipation... nothing.... :rotfl:

One of my DIS friends on my other cruise meet thread posted these pictures of the model of the Dream. Thought some of you might be interested in seeing them.

Here's a few pictures of the DREAM model I saw up in Chicago:

When my parents & I use to drive from South Jersey, my mother's favorite place to stop was Walterboro, SC which seemed like the halfway point between NJ & FL. We also stopped in Savannah, GA.

We drove from MD to WDW this past trip. My parents drove from NJ on Wednesday to my house. Then on Thursday, we left my house and drove to Jacksonville/Orange Park, FL to visit friends. On Friday, we arrived at WDW.

My family prefers driving rather than flying. We will be driving to WDW this trip too.

We have driven quite a few times from South Jersey to WDW. We can make the trip in about 15 hours. We have left home at 4am, and pulled into WDW around 7pm. The kids travel really well, and we make sure that rest stops are gas/bathroom/stretch the legs combined! (I think DH actually times us to get us back to the car quickly!! :lmao: ) On the way back we usually leave WDW in the early afternoon, so we generally stop in SC, and then have about a 10 hour drive back. We'll be driving to WDW the Thursday before the cruise, and driving home a week after we disembark. The parking at the port is sooooo easy and our parking spot was so close! We were parked only about 100 feet from the Magic!

We are just north of Philly near the PA Turnpike (just off the Fort Washington exit)...so pretty darn close!

I haven't gotten to the point of planning the drive there and back yet... I may give you a yell as we get closer! :cool2:

We'll be leaving PA the Saturday morning before the cruise and leaving WDW:sad1: the Friday after we dock back in PC. The kids start school three days later so that gives us 2 days to drive and one day to recover!

What are your plans for our Nassus Day ?

All the excursions look super pricey for what they are (especially after cruising w/ my sister when she worked for CCL and going on them for free!)... we are leaning towards just going to the public beach (thx for pics... it looks awesome!) for at least part of the day.

Hi everyone, first, I just wanted to say... I love the puppy photos... sooo cute!

I have not yet looked into airfare, but I know that will be our means our transportation.

In the meantime I booked the Wonder for a week at Christmas. I haven't told my daughter yet. I may tell her for her birthday. Now that airfare was a killer!

I know that drive very well! The verdict is still out on our plans for this trip yet though.

Just entered my son in a swim meet at Germantown Academy - which I believe is out in Fort Washington???

I try to employ that same timing on my family to get them back to car!! :rotfl: Doesn't work well for me though?!?

Yup...it is about 2 miles from my house! :-) :thumbsup2

Of course, by the time I got around to seeing this, the OP exceeded his/her photobucket bandwidth and the photos aren't currently visible?!!
Try again they are showing for me

Thanks for sharing
Think I can see our stateroom here

Check your ressies folks. Disney is assigning show times now to go along with your dinner. They assigned my family a 5 PM show and main dining. Supposedly they will either be giving out tickets or something noted on your KTTW card showing your scheduled show time. If you try to go to a show other than your assigned you will only be allowed if there is space available.

I can hear the complaints already!!!! (And I will admit I will be one of them :lmao:)

I called and waitilisted for the later show. No way I want to cut my day short to go have to shower and get dressed for a 5PM show.

That doesn't even make any sense? I thought that was the whole idea, that late diners did the early show and vice versa? What would they be thinking??

Where did you find it? Did you call? When I look online, I don't even see my dining time listed.

I wouldnt have known except I got an email from DCL today confirming my reservation which has been booked for almost a year. I hadnt made any changes so I called. They told me that they were updating dining/show schedule on the dream. I was disappointed that they just randomly assigned people and then they will enforce the show time. I would expect them to loosen the rules a bit once the Dream is up and running. I cant imagine that they would tell people who are loyal DCL cruisers that they cant see a show because its not their time....

If you go into your reservation and try to modify you will see dining choices available and your show will be listed along side it
