August 16 2009 4 night Wonder, Cruise-O-Maniac

WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!

9 more weeks and we will be in the Bahamas! I can't wait! We will probably stay on the ship while we are in Nassau that day--but just being on the ship will be fun!

Have we ever decided on a meeting time for all of us on our first day? Are we planning on wearing a certain color or something else to be able to recognize each other? I am looking forward to meeting all of you.

Hey Vicki, I've been to two meets onboard, both were at 3pm, one was at the Goofy pool and one was at the Promenade Lounge ~ both were great, as it gave us enough time to have a quick cocktail and introduce ourselves before heading to the lifeboat drill at 4pm ~ anytime will be good for me

Hi Mandy,

3 pm sounds like it would be a great time to meet! Plenty of time before the drill and ship sails off. Both places would be fine with me too. Do you or anyone else have a preference. I know one time we tried having a meet at the sailaway party and it just didn't work out very well since it was so crowded.

Hopefully the weather will be good and we won't have to worry about hurricanes or tropical storms. We were in DW last Aug. and were there in the middle of Tropical Storm Faye---the only nice thing was that the parks weren't too crowded.

We were there too Vicki, I've never seen rain like it. Thankfully we got on the Disney Wonder the Sunday after it moved away from Florida, and the last week of our vacation was glorious sunshine

I think the Promenade lounge is the better choice. Of course I am in hopes of weather being perfect, but if it's not, then inside would be better.

Nice to have you aboard--this cruise is getting ever so much closer. I am okay with meeting at either spot on the cruise our first day at 3 pm. Hopefully the weather will be nice, but I guess you never know.

Coach Rick--I like the t-shirts that you had for last year--it is too bad that that cruise didn't work out for all of you. Hopefully this cruise will be a good one for you and your family.

It is suppose to be a hot one here in Wisconsin tomorrow. Our first day over 90 (94) and were suppose to have a heat index near 100. Whew!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! Can you tell I am a rookie - posting my message twice!?! Ooops!

I may be interested in being part of the fish extenders - if I can figure out what a fish extender is. This is all new to me. I've just realized that I have seventeen pages of previous thread to read. I'll get started and perhaps I'll find out about the fish extenders as well as discovering our new cruising friends.

I have a question. What does one wear to the pirate dinner?

Here's my Fish Extender

It's a holder with pockets that is hung from the 'fish' outside your stateroom where we leave gifts for each other

We have 5 families taking part so far (including myself), and you can choose to leave little gifts for each person in the exchange or you can make up a family gift, it's up to you

Here is the list of who is taking part ..

Argh, ye ask what ye wear to a pirate dinner...well ye mattie, depends if'n yer the main course er the guest...main course = lots of spice...guest = jest purt on ye favorite pirate wear and be ready to plunder...argh argh argh...

Oh good, somebody to compare hockey notes with...my entire family plays hockey, except for DW. Oldest DD played at Salve Regina University, DS will be playing at Lyndon State College in Vt this coming year, and youngest DD plays on the boys team in high school. I am semi retired from coaching after coaching youth, high school and college ranks...now I just work at Providence College as an off ice official.

Sorry Keever, I missed your question about Pirate Night. We don't dress up as such, we tend to wear a pirate-y t-shirt, with scarves, bandanas, tattoos, jewellery etc, though some people do go down the Captain Jack Sparrow route, and they look great
